LANGUEDOC THESIS FILM
Project Overview
Hello voice actors!
LANGUEDOC is my senior thesis: a 5 minute 2D and mixed media animated film. It follows titular character Effie Languedoc, a Thai-French 11 year old girl, as she transitions into a new environment and finds solace in a creek by her new home.
I am currently casting for four roles: Effie, Dad, Teacher, and Mean Girl.
(Please note that Teacher and Mean Girl are required to have Australian accents!)
This opportunity is paid on a student budget, at a differing flat rate for each role.
It is highly preferred that you can work on-site in NYC, but if you are unable to, you are required to have professional recording equipment.
Thank you so much; I look forward to hearing your auditions! :)

Lead role. Effie Languedoc is a mixed (Thai and French) 11 year old girl. She is anxious, earnest, and sensitive. I want her to sound realistic and genuine, so please no over the top cartoon voice acting! Southeast Asian, Asian, and/or mixed race VAs preferred. She has around 12 lines, along with crying, panting, and sighs.

Mmm, I think there's enough room for some souvenirs.
It's getting pretty late.
I'm so sorry. I can't believe I––I didn't mean to. (quietly) I'm so sorry.
Secondary lead role. Effie's strict and cruel father. He should sound clear, strong, mean, and fed up. I want him to sound realistic and genuine, so please no over the top cartoon voice acting! Just cutting and cruel, almost like he's spitting out his words. He has around 8 lines with some swearing included.

Tadpoles? Ugh, Effie, what'd I say about bringing this shit inside the house?
Get inside and go to bed. Now.
Minor role. A mean girl at Effie's school who doesn't want to befriend her. Only one line. Australian accent required.
