Project Overview

Who are we?

My name is Alex and I am cofounder of the YouTube channel, The Harlequins. We are a small group of creators that typically post videos of games that we are interested in at the time. This is the first large scale project that we have decided to pursue. Kingdom Hearts has always been a game that's been dearly beloved for me and Kingdom Hearts Abridged Mix is our love letter to the series.


What is this?

Kingdom Hearts Abridged Mix is our retelling of the first Kingdom Hearts game. KH:AM will lean in to the story and characters to embrace the humor and insanity of this journey. We plan on there being ten episodes across the series with roughly ten to fifteen minute run times for each episode. We are currently in the process of scripting episode one and will keep casting open until 08/27/2026 or until all roles are filled. There will be more opportunities to voice characters as the show goes on.


Compensation:

Due to our small size, our budget is incredibly tight. However, we are listing this project as deferred. We want to make a commitment to share profit with those involved should this project become a success. I would like to stress the fact that this is not a guarantee, but a favorable outcome. We do have plans to get this project in front of as many people as possible to better its odds of taking off. In the event we are able to make payments to the cast, earnings will be split based on contribution to the series. This means that lead roles and major supporting characters will earn more.


Requirements:

For those interested in voice roles, a base requirement for all roles is recording using a USB or XLR microphone. We want to set this standard to keep audio quality consistent across the cast. Please also ensure that you have a suitable recording environment to avoid white noise or background noise. We ask that no AI filters or enhancements be used in your submissions.

    Hey everyone!

    I wanted to post an update and let you all know that first, I am blown away by the amount of submissions we have for this project and we're just a few days in. I have taken a listen to everyone's submissions once for initial impressions and I will be sitting down later this evening to write more detailed notes. There is some amazing talent here, and I consider myself extremely lucky to be in a position where choosing between you all is going to be this difficult.

    As for the project itself, we have scripting roughly 75% of the way complete. Editing is coming along nicely as well. Episode one is looking to be a little longer than we want so there are a few areas we're going to tighten up as we continue working on it. I am very excited to see these words come to life with your voices.

    Thank you again to everyone who has auditioned so far. We still have plenty of time left in the casting window, and I can't wait to hear more!
