It Was Obvious - Animated-Indie Short Film
Project Overview
It Was Obvious is an animated-indie short film. The story takes place at Crestview Middle school with the main characters being David Flores and Jason Jeong. The two are very close friends however Jason has a VERY obvious secret. He's the city's superhero. It seems obvious to David but not to anyone else? As they fight both external and internal conflicts while also navigating their friendship. Monsters, aliens, lies, anger, friends? By which of course, it was obvious.

DAVID is one of the main leads roles in the animated-indie short film It Was Obvious.
PERSONALITY - David showcases very expressive emotions. He has personality traits of being extroverted, energetic, funny, bold, and kind of a nerd. Overtime in the film he shows a wide range of frustration.
CHARACTER - David is best friends' with Jason. As stated before, David expresses personality traits of extroversion, frustration, etc. He is 12-13 years old and is currently attending Crestview Middle school. He is not afraid to be openly interested in comics, sports and music. David is also Filipino-American, however an accent is not needed as he grew up in America.
VOICE - For David's voice I am looking for something that can capture his boldness, range of expression of his genuine frustration to joking-manner, volume and personality as it is a big part of him. He talks in a somewhat fast yet well articulated and clear mannered. Also, it is optional but I think David would have a slight rasp in his voice. Also youthful NOT FULLY deepened due to his age. EXAGGERATE YOUR EXPRESSIONS!! HAVE FUN!

Stop.. just stop.. you say I’m your best friend but you’re constantly leaving me and lying to me. I just want you to tell me the truth. (Frustrated)
SERIOUSLY is NO ONE SEEING THIS? (Upset yelling)
Did you see the game last night? The Crestview tigers were crazy! (Energetic)
JASON is one of the main lead roles in my animated-indie short film It Was Obvious.
PERSONALITY - Jason, unlike David, is a very shy nervous character. He is also the city's superhero. He is smart, quick, but not the brightest. He is fighting both externally and internally and struggles to hide a big lie. He gets anxious whenever someone speculates the topic. He shows emotions of confidence, feeling upset and frustration.
CHARACTER - Jason is best friends' with David. He is actually considered to be quite popular among his peers although despite disliking the attention. He is also 12-13 years old. When he's in-costume he is seen to be more confident in his words and actions. He also is a nerd for things like comics, sports and music. He is also Korean-American however, once again, an accent is not required due to him growing up in America.
VOICE - For Jason's voice, I think he would have a voice that is capable of showing his hidden emotions and subtext to his words. How he's smart but also awkward. Being able to show words of energy in-action and also his anxiousness of telling the truth. He hesitates and mumbles/stutters a lot when he lies or gets nervous. He also has an expressive range of emotions of being awkward to the boldness of fighting monsters. Also youthful and NOT FULLY deepened due to his age EXAGGERATE YOUR EXPRESSIONS!! HAVE FUN!
