Project Overview

The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin.

This is a parody dub of the popular Halloween cartoon special "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". This is just for fun! It will premiere on YouTube in October! Please apply if you will be able to send in your lines before they are due.

Although all of the roles in the special are children, we do not want children to portray them. The targeted audience for this parody will not be for children, so please audition if you are responsible and know what your doing.

  • New Role Added

    Hey everybody, I just wanted to say that I added a new role to the list. The character doesn't actually appear in the original special but I explain it all in the role description. I kind of just wanna test something out. I'll create a poll about it on my instagram @aquasniper_va or my twitter @AquaSniper_VA so look for that. Anyways it's there so feel free to audition. Also if the special receives well, then we'll probably dub over "A Charlie Brown Christmas" with hopefully the same cast. Anyways, thank you all who have looked into this project!

Charlie Brown is a shy, meek, kind, innocent, gentle-hearted character with many anxieties. Charlie Brown is always referred to by his full name and his usual catchphrase is "good grief".

He just sounds like a normal boy, they are supposed to be second graders but some of the original voice actors didn't even know how to read (but don't audition if your a second grader). 

  • You must be crazy! When are you going to stop believing in something that isn't true.

  • They're obviously separated by denominational differences.

  • What's going on here! What are you trying to do to my little sister!

Linus always means well and tries to smooth over any storms that arise amongst the gang. One of his sources of frustration is his sister Lucy, who always belittles him, particularly over his security blanket. In spite of his insightful nature, he has a naive belief in the Great Pumpkin.

Linus has a very noticeable lisp. If you can give your voice a lisp, that would be what he sounds like.

  • Dear great pumpkin, I'm looking forward to your arrival on Halloween night.

  • This is the time of year to write to the great pumpkin. On Halloween night the great pumpkin rises out of his pumpkin patch and flies through the air with his bag of toys for all the children.

  • I didn't know you were going to kill it! Ooooh!

Lucy Van Pelt works hard at being bossy, crabby and selfish. She is loud and yells a lot. Her smiles and motives are rarely pure. She's a know-it-all who dispenses advice whether you want it or not--and for Charlie Brown, there's a charge.

Lucy is really loud and annoying. That should be conveyed through her voice.

  • Say Charlie Brown, I've got a football. How about practicing some place kicks? I'll hold the ball, and you come running and kick it!

  • This time you can't trust me! See, it's a signed document testifying that I promise not to pull it away.

  • Not again! You make me the laughing stalk of the neighborhood! All they talk about is my little brother who writes to the great pumpkin! You better cut it out right now or I'll pound you!

Sally is the complex younger sister of Charlie Brown. 

She talks like a baby essentially, since she is the youngest character in the special, but she can sure yell a lot if she doesn't get what she wants.

  • Oh I would never laugh at you, Linus. You're so intelligent! You say the cutest things!

  • Do I get to go trick-or-treating with you big brother?

    Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! How do we do it?

  • I was robbed! I waited up all night for the great pumpkin when I could have been out for tricks-and-treats! Halloween is over and I missed it! You blockhead! You kept me up all night waiting for the great pumpkin and all that came was a beagle! I'll sue!

Peppermint Patty is a tom-boy with a raspy voice. She has a crush on Charlie Brown, but refuses to admit it.

Actually, the special was made before she was even added to the cast, but she's still a fan favorite. They made an episode of "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show" about the great pumpkin in the 80s (decades later) and it's kind of interesting. All the audition lines are from that episode except for the last one.

  • Hey Chuck! There's a bowling tournament tonight! Do you wanna come?

  • I should of won that bowling tournament! Chuck you cheated me out!

  • Oh boy I got a candy bar!
