Indie Horror Game Releasing On Steam
Project Overview
We need talented voice-over artists for an upcoming indie horror game. We cannot reveal too much because the game is still in early development. However, we can reveal that the style is very similar to Resident Evil 7 (follow this link for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1OUs3HwIuo).
This casting call is for the demo of the game. We cannot currently pay voice-over artists for their work at this moment in time. However, once we pass the demo stage of the game, we will be implementing a pay scheme for all casted artists to reward them for their hard work.
The game has a large variety of characters, all of which have very bold and unique personalities, so eventually there will be plenty of work for all you talented people.
The game's tone is generally quite serious, but does have some comedic moments thrown in for relief and reward for the player.
We are trying to keep a very high standard of quality throughout this game. This means we require microphones that are of good quality, with no or close to no background noise. We only need your talented voices so there is no need for filters or we will deal with that in post.
Due to our small team, if you get the role we may not be able to speak directly to you to start with (skype or discord). However, we will happily communicate with you via email or any text-based service. This may change in the future as we are planning on getting more staff to delegate the workload.
Lastly, just go out there and have fun. We want all the talented artists out there to enjoy playing the roles we supply, after all, that's what we are all here for. Good luck.

The main Protagonist is an intelligent man. He was a very successful private investigator, collaborating with the finest detectives in London. However, with a few bad cases, his career went downhill very quickly. The game is set at the point where his career has plummeted to rock bottom. After years of being passed basic investigations that bored him, he received an exceptionally interesting case. To the average eye, it seems just like a cheating wife case, it turns out to be so much more.
The character's personality is very dry and sarcastic. He speaks to himself a lot, which helps him think. He has quite a soothing voice, very similar in style Matthew Mercer. Any accent is acceptable, but I would prefer British or American accents.

Improvise a little! Say something you think would fit.
I never thought my life would come to this. 2 years ago, I was at the top of my game- A private investigator collaborating with London’s finest. Now? Now I’m taking photos of cheating husbands and finding long lost pets.
But get this, my newest job: a man’s wife has been missing for four weeks. He says she’s cheating, but I don’t think that’s the case here. You wouldn’t just up and leave out of nowhere, a cheater makes excuses to cover their tracks and your lies.
She’s not cheating, no-no-no. I reckon she’s got herself in trouble [beat] hmm the house is registered in her name. Seems like a big responsibility to just run away from.
The husband mailed her laptop to me, says he couldn’t find anything. But with some digging in her private files, I found her last known location attached in an email invoice from a taxi service. It looks like she’s hiding out in a small town [beat] hmm [beat] if she was trying to cover her tracks, then she wasn’t trying very hard, it was basically handed to me on a silver platter.
Sergeant Covell is a highly ranked member of the military. He follows the rules (mostly), but is known to question the commands if they test his morals. He is a reappearing presence throughout the game. He is only encountered in audio logs scattered throughout the levels. A Scottish accents is preferable, but I am open to listening to other accents that may fit the character.
Sergeant Covell: This is 2nd platoon leader Sergeant Covell attempting communication with Captain Rose of 7th platoon squadron. Over.
Captain Rose: This is Captain Rose responding, have you begun stage 1 of Project Vector?
Sergeant Covell: We’ve secured the main courtyard. Civilian quarantining will begin at 0800 hours. Some of the civilians have volunteered to help cordon off the Campbell hotel. No confirmed sightings of any E 18 patients yet. Over.
Captain Rose: Good work Sergeant, make sure the civilians know as little as possible. We don’t want news spreading from this sector. Over?
Sergeant Covell: But how else are they going to trust us, sir? They’ll want to know why their town’s being quarantined. Over.
Captain Rose: They are not to know! It’s for their safety. If they find out as to what is goi… hold on!
*Captain Rose receives a transmission on his line*
Captain Rose: [said like he is listening to someone] ahuh, yes sir. *The line cuts out* [regretfully] Ah Bollocks!
Captain Rose: New orders from Seinfeld. Any non-military personnel that have been informed on project Vector must be terminated. This is our top priority. Over.
Sergeant Covell: But Sir!?
Captain Rose: Get it done sergeant! I’m sorry. Over and out.
Say Something you think would fit.
Private Miller is a rookie soldier and his first mission is to quarantine the town. He's working alongside Sergeant Covell and many other soldiers to complete this task.
*Phone dial and ringing*
Construction worker: [hastily] Come on [beat] Hello? we’ve had to put the construction on hold sir, you’ll never guess why? The fucking military have turned up. They’re putting everything on hold. They’re even starting to quarantine us.
*the construction pauses as the silent voice on the other line speaks*
Construction worker: No!? how the fuck am I supposed to know. I can’t get out. [mild panic] I’ve got to meet the wife later at the school.
*The construction spots a soldier walk by*
Construction worker: Wait hold on a sec…
*construction worker turns to a military soldier and calls out to him*
Construction Worker: [yelling] Hey! what the hell is going on!?
Private Miller: This town is now under the watch of the military; you will be quarantined, and you will not resist.
Construction worker: [confused] What? Let go of me!
Private Miller: You may have been exposed!
Construction worker: Exposed? [beat] to what? Tell me! I have rights!
Private Miller: Alright! Something called E18.
Construction worker: [said softly] wha…What is that? [impatient and angry] What is that?
Sergeant Covell: [Sternly] Hold up private! What did you just tell him?
Private Miller: Just the cause sir.
Sergeant Covell: [disappointed] Ah shit! I’m so sorry.
*sergeant points gun at construction worker*
Construction Worker: [shock and confused] Wait what are you doing? No no no no don’t!
*Sergeant shoots the construction worker and then a brief pause*
*screams erupt in the background*
Private Miller: [shocked] What the fuck? Why did you do that?!
Sergeant Covell: [Sternly] If you had kept your god damn mouth shut Private this wouldn’t have happened! Now move on! Or that will be you next!
Captain Rose is a very stern man. He gives orders and expects them done ASAP. His personality is very much like his voice, monotoned. Think of Captain Holt and his style of voice. Here's a link for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TafN2yZWA8E

This character has a small role, however, this doesn't mean the role isn't important. Similar to the shopkeeper, the construction worker will be heard at the very beginning of the game. This means that it needs to make an impression, portraying the correct tone of the game and help the story flow.
This character has 2 children and a loving wife that he cherishes dearly. This needs to be portrayed in his audio logs, which depict his being kept away from them against his will by the military.

The Shopkeeper is a stubborn old man who hates the government. In the game, he's the owner of a shop that gets taken over by military personnel. He has quite a small role, with only a few lines in the game. However, these lines have the responsibility of setting the tone for the rest of the game. He sounds very similar to Dario Rosso from the Remake of Resident Evil 3. Here's a link for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6thCN7T265k

Shopkeeper: These fucking pigs! They come storming into my shop and demand that I turn the building over to them! I told them to go fuck themselves.
*audio clip ends and another plays*
It’s been 2 days since the military arrived, they will not let us leave! Not that I could go anywhere, my whole life is in this shop.
*Audio clip ends, and another begins*
They pulled a fucking gun on me! Those pigs! I tried to walk out, and they nearly fucking shot me!
*Audio clip ends, and another begins*
To anyone listening to this tape, this is proof of what’s happened here. Proof of how we’ve been treated. Let me show you one last thing… what happens when you try and stand up to them. What they’re prepared to do
*Audio clip ends, and another begins*
I s’pose I’ll see you on the other side now. They’re going to kill us all sooner or later, why not let it be now eh?
*Sound of the tape recorder being set down as it sounds as though the voice is moving away from it, towards the door*
Go on then! Do what you like!
Sergeant Covell: (Quieter, noticeably more distant. Authoritatively shouting) Sir stay in line! It's for your own safety!
Shopkeeper: Go fuck yourselves! I’m not staying here anymore!
Sergeant Covell: (Noticeably more irate) Stop, right now! Do not make us use force!
*Distant sound of a commotion from the troops outside, guns being brought to bear*
Shop keeper: Go on then! Do what you like!
Sergeant Covell: Final warning!
*Gunshots are heard*
