Hymns for the Road Fiction Podcast

Project Overview

Hymns for the Road is a dark fantasy audio fiction limited series created by the team behind Find Us Alive. It follows four survivors of a magical apocalypse as they navigate the surreal, beautiful, and dangerous wasteland formerly known as America, on an endless road trip in search of somewhere safe from the hostile world around them.

We’re looking for dedicated voice actors 18 years or older who can work within a set schedule and communicate in a timely manner. We will be recording 2 episodes a month for a total of 30 20-30-minute episodes. All positions are paid. If you are cast, we will contact you via the contact info provided by Casting Call Club.

Our budget for voice talent is $260 per episode, which equates to roughly $1-3 per line. Based on our early counts, episodes will typically pay $40-60 per episode for lead roles, give or take.

There are no gendered roles in this show. Any character can be voiced by an actor of any gender identity. All characters speak in some kind of American accent, of which there are many. Lead characters have no predefined voice traits beyond age, so we look forward to hearing your unique interpretation!

Actors auditioning for the four lead roles must include a singing sample, as every episode includes a short a capella song. You do not have to be a trained singer, or even a good singer.  The goal is to sound human and ordinary, not polished and professional. You'll see where to record these samples with the spoken voice lines. You can sing any song you like, but the sample must be a capella with no instrumentation or background music.

Thank you for auditioning, we look forward to hearing you!
