Homesick Adventures - EP 5 - JRPG Cartoon
Project Overview
Homesick Adventures is an original JRPG inspired comedy animation series started in 2017. It follows the adventures of Hiro who, after being kicked out on his 18th birthday, finds a mysterious talking tome who's magical power is rivaled only by its potty mouth. Together they meet a menagerie of crazy characters and utterly fail in the basics of being adventuring heroes. Watch them embark on their quest to stop an evil entity from conquering the world... but more importantly, not starving to death in the process...
Though the series is, at it's heart a satire, everyone working on it strives to make a great product. Besides comedy, we employ moments of drama, action and beauty and every element added to each episode needs to match that artistic range. Everyone working on the project always brings their A-game so that we can make the best project we can!
But at the end of the day, we still want to have fun and make something really cool!

Daria Amai is the wholesome middle aged librarian of Archatechnia University. She is endearing, motherly and a massively boisterous goofball. Though a side character, she plays a large role in the college in terms of both its faculty and the school's personality.
She is a stand out figure in the university as she lacks proficiency in technology OR magic, unlike the rest of the faculty. What she does have is an infectious, can-do spirit and complete mastery of the Dewey decimal system. Daria's voice is imagined to be similar to the Fargo accent, native to Wisconsin or Minnesota. However, this is NOT a hard must, and we are open to other interpretations and accents. What IS a must is that she needs to sound sweet, lovable and peppy.

Daria is intended as a recurring side character and without wishing to spoil future plans, let's just say her being sweet and docile is part of the joke. The more demure and motherly she comes across will make the character funnier as the series goes on.
As such, if selected for the role, expect to be called back for future episodes of this series!

Homesick Adventures is looking for a pixel animator!
We are looking for someone to help produce some sexy animation for our upcoming episode. The whole episode is approximately 15 minutes long and 11 scenes in total. The rate listed is to produce 2 complete action scenes for this episode. Runtime of this animation is based on what you produce NOT based on a set amount of time.
You can work at your own pace as long as you deliver the work by the agreed upon date - with regular progress checks/ critiques. And if work is satisfactory, you will also be contacted for future work on the series!

I woke up in a cold sweat and realized something...Homesick Adventures needs a new soundtrack!
We need to create an OST that is unique to our show and highlights its qualities. We are putting out the APB to all musicians and composers interested in producing an action-packed anime soundtrack!
This casting call is to produce 5 unique pieces of music and the payment for the completion of that goal.

Homesick Adventures borrows heavily from middle eastern folklore, often referencing the likes of 1001 Arabian Nights. However, no one working on the project is of Middle Eastern decent or is familiar with the subtleties of said folklore. We want to not only make something cool, but also respect and properly represent the cultures we reference.
We are looking for someone who can not only help translate certain phrases into Arabic, but also someone versed in the various cultures of the middle eastern region. We will share with you the characters and early scripts we are working on, and you will help guide us to not only be more accurate, but possibly think of cool ideas and references we didn't even think of!

Kakato Itten is based off the brooding anime character trope. His voice should fall somewhere between irreverent and depressed. As this character is a parody of emo anime characters, his voice should be over the top depressing to the point of comedy.
The show lampoons English dubs of Japanese anime , so this character should embody a standard north American accent. Kakato is an ancient being, 500+ years old, but his voice should reflect someone in their mid 20s to late 30s. He is despondent, distant and the only feeling he knows is angst.

Kakato is a sorcerer working for the great evil of the world of Homesick. He seeks to serve his master and thwart the protagonists, but he also has his own goals and agenda that don't always align with his overlords. Kakato casts his magic through the use of magic words that resemble a combination of Latin and Arabic
Kakato is a new character that is planned to be a regular recurring staple of the series. If selected for this role, expect to be contacted for future work voicing the character!
