It is a fairly monotone, 1950's American male accent, with proper pronunciation in an academic presentation style

With my exposure to Orthodoxy and to Orthodox people, a new idea began to enter my awareness: that truth was not just an abstract idea, sought and known by the mind, but was something personal–even a Person, sought and loved by the heart.

The music was as loud as music can get without making one totally deaf.
The room was dark and filled with smoke, with the words of modern prophets written in graffiti on the walls.
Reveling in the music and sounds I liked so much, I suddenly realized how aweful this all was.
