Heroes' Journey
Project Overview
Heroes' Journey is a fun romp, and spoof of adventure and fantasy stories. It is a fully original story written for the podcast medium. It is mainly comedic but has some serious aspects as well. It was partially inspired by different video games, D&D, and all different fantasy/adventure stories. I need some voices for the characters. This is a for-fun/ student project.

Puck is a happy-go-lucky kid who wants nothing more than to be an adventurer. He is super energetic, and very little makes him truly sad. Puck is a hopeful dreamer and optimist who is always extremely excited for the things he likes.
Puck: Felix, I’m not messing around. I want to do what mom and dad did. I want to fight dragons, and go on adventures, and protect people. Imagine you’re a regular villager in a small town on the outer rim of the kingdom, but then bam invasion by Marauders. There’s no hope, the marauders are closing in. But then *mouth trumpet sound* Puck the legendary Royal knight swoops in to save the day. He’s fighting bandit after bandit. Until oh no they start overpowering him it’s a dog pile. But then Puck the legendary royal knight bursts out of the pile and vanquishes the remaining marauders. The crowd goes wild! *puck mimicking crowd cheer* Puck Puck Puck! Wouldn’t that be amazing?
Puck: You can’t keep protecting me forever. I’m 17, I need to be able to take care of myself.
Puck: you won’t be saying that once I unleash my special move. GO SUPER SPINNING JUSTICE SWORD OF DEATH! AAAAAAAAAAAAH
Felix is the older brother of Puck. He is a pessimistic realist and is always trying to protect his brother. Felix Is very dry and non-emotional, his voice is not very dynamic.
Felix: Two things. First of all, you don’t have to say Puck the legendary royal knight every time you talk about yourself, And second a poorly written fanfiction about yourself isn’t gonna sway me. You have to understand I'm just trying to keep you safe.
Felix: Puck that’s a stick. I may have hit you one too many times.
Felix: (sarcastically) Sure bud, I think you need to go lie down before your concussion gets worse.
Abigail: Hey bud, have you tried breathing? It’s pretty great.
Abigail: You know Felix is just trying to protect you right?
Abigail: I think you should try talking through your problems instead of…
(beat) *Sigh* running away. Like you always do.
Karra Is a no-nonsense veteran who does not really care for other people all that much. She has very little to no tact whatsoever. She is very direct and does not sugarcoat anything. she often speaks her mind without thinking of what other people will think. Very blunt.
Karra: If you drag me down in this exam I’m going to personally escort you to the afterlife.
Karra: Listen funny guy, I’m not joking, missions are assigned by how well you do. if we don’t do well here, I’m gonna be stuck with a crappy mission where I gotta go hunt some slimes or something. My immediate future rests on how well we do here, and if I get hunting slimes I think I might just have to hunt clowns and I know which two I’d start with.
Karra: At least one of you has some potential.
The narrator is a gruff old book store owner who is very pessimistic and sarcastic. he's pretty grumpy and does not enjoy doing his job. he is pretty much always annoyed. He makes remarks and jabs at the characters while he is narrating the story and often goes on tangents about completely unrelated things.
Narrator: So You want a story? One filled with adventure, discoveries, loss, betrayal, an epic battle between good and evil, and a grand sense of wonder and excitement. Sucks to be you I guess. I just sold the last one. Oh, you just want A story? Guess I can't get rid of you that easily. ok well give me a second *rustling around and random noises* How should I start this. Let's go with once upon a time, *robust adventure music starts and then cuts out* no that's too cliche’ Let's see There once was a young boy… No. it was a dark and stormy night. No. call me Ishmael definitely not. Ah, here we are. In the kingdom of Senoa there was a boy who wanted to be a royal knight.
Narrator: That was kinda intense huh? I’ve got 20 bucks on the older brother.
Anyway, Puck trained for approximately 35 seconds before challenging his brother to a duel. Let's see how that played out for him.
Narrator: Puck ran away from his problems deep into the nearby forest, huh, just like my third wife. The deeper puck ventured the thicker the foliage. that’s Spanish for tin foil. Puck didn’t really have a destination in mind; he just needed to get his mind off of things, he often walked through these woods to clear his head. If you ask for my 2 cents I’d say Puck is kinda a dingus. (beat) Anywho.
British accented Harold of the kind who is also named Harold
Harold: *clears throat* very well. All of you line up. We are going to separate you into groups with a very precise and meticulous method that will put you in the group that will suit your abilities best and will bring out the best of each of you as individuals.
Harrold: Now, everyone form a squad with 4 people from your group. Ideally, you will choose people who will suit your abilities best and will give you the best chance of succeeding in the exam, but you may choose whomever you like
Harold: Finally, All welcome the ruler of Senoa, your king, Lord Reginald Delorious Esquire the 3rd.
Think overly exaggerated wrestling officiate or commentator. times 10. very loud and over the top. basically yells all his lines
OFFICIATOR 1: ARE YOU READY!!!!!!!!
*Crowd goes Wild*
OFFICIATOR 1: I CAN”T HEAR YOU!!!!!
OFFICIATOR 1: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOYS AND GIRLS, GET READY TO HAVE YOUR SOCKS BLOWN CLEAN OFF THIS EARTH, GET READY TO FALL INTO A COMA THAT MAKES YOU FORGET EVERYTHING EXCEPT ONE THING, AND THAT ONE THING IS THE DUEL. IN THIS CORNER WE”VE GOT THE DANGEROUS THE OPTIMISED SUUUUUUUPER DEATH POWER SQUAD.
OFFICIATOR 1: CHRISTOPHER JERICHO, BENJAMIN DOVER, ANILEASE MURDERKILL, AND MOST DANGEROUS OF ALL STEVE!!!!!!!!!!
Just a calm regular commentator/ officiate. Is in stark contrast to officiate 1. speaks in a radio voice and says all their lines in this manner no matter what the line is.
Officiator 2: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to this year’s annual royal knights exam!
From the looks of it, we have many promising-looking fighters in the crowd tonight.
For those of you who don’t know, or have just been living under a rock, to start this challenge each fighter is Scanned by our magic Skill crystal which rates their skill level.
