HXH is an ongoing Manga/Anime series. it plays a huge role in the japanese media of today, written by lovely Togashi. VOIDOYOU is organizing a (what is hopefully) going to be a fandub of the 2011 anime. this WILL be a long-term project, THIS IS THE CASTING FOR S1. more characters will be added as we progress. Gon Freeces is the protagonist of HXH, he is an ESFP 8w7 Personality type. He is very morally black and white, he is cheery, outgoing, stubborn, reckless and determined. He'd do anything for his friends, even throwing away his life in the later parts of the series. You need to be able to show a broad range of emotion, His original english VA Is Erika Mendez. We'd prefer the VA for him to be female as this is how it's always been done. Though a young male could be considered for his character as well.
(happy, determined) " Kite is still alive, Think about it! do you really think he'd be beat by something like that? No way! he's totally waiting for us!"
(happy, determined) " There's Only One Reason I Can Focus Everything I've Got On Hitting The Ball. And that's Killua! I need Killua to hold the ball, he's the only one who can do it. "
(Breaking down, mix between quiet sad and quiet angry) " Kite is... dead... he's.. dead.. it's my fault, no.. it's Pitous fault! but- if i hadnt asked to go with him.. oh god it's my fault no- "
Killua is the secondary protagonist of HxH, his original VA is christina vee. we'd like a female to voice him since that's how it's always been done, but we would consider a young/teen male as well. He's a "retired" Assassin from the prestigious zoldyck family. Killua is very sarcastic and more on the quiet side compared to Gon. He is an INFP personality type and he's extremely loyal and protective of Gon. It is heavily implied that Killua is in love with him by the Chimera Ant Arc. He's a very complex character, His character arc is labeled as "Learning how to love and be loved after abuse". in the Chimera Ant Arc he goes through a lot of mental turmoil so you must be able to cry, portray heartbreak, emptiness, anger, disappointment - pretty much every negative emotion in the book.
(Lighthearted, nonchalant) " I Slashed My Mom In The Face, Stabbed My Brother In The Side, And Ran Away From Home. And then, She started crying! because she was so proud of me or something."
(enamored, devoted, in-adoration) " Gon.. You are light, Sometimes you shine so brightly, that i must look away. but even so, can I still stay by your side? "
(through tears, yelling, distraught, in pain ) " I wont, leave him!! I have to keep him- safe!! Gon.. I must protect him because he’s my friend. He’s the best friend I’ve ever had. I don’t ever want to lose him!”
Kurapika is a cool and intelligent individual, possessing vast knowledge. He is reticent; not one to open up to people easily and quite judgmental. His distance from others initially keeps him level-headed and moralistic, but his heart has been poisoned with sadness and hatred. He's one of the main 4 characters and becomes the protagonist after the election arc. we will be casting a female for this role.
(Intense, quiet) "My name is Kurapika Kurta, Sole survivor of the Kurta Clan. My Clan was attacked by the Spiders, Also known as the phantom troupe. They slaughtered all of them, and left with their eyes. I do not fear death, I fear only that my rage will quiet over time."
(embarrassed, ashamed) "In my mind, I knew right from the start that the tattoo was a fake. But... as soon as I saw that spider, my vision went almost completely red."
(angry) "Filthy bastard! Is that seriously all you can think about? You will never break these chains!"
Leorio is initially introduced as a very selfish narcissist who places great emphasis on material wealth. Despite his assertions that he is only after money, he eventually reveals to Kurapika that his dream is to one day become a doctor in order to help the poor. He grew up very poor, and His best friend died from a preventable illness when he was very young. He becomes a hunter to pay for his medical school tuition. He's a very kind and gentle soul who places strong value in his friendships. he starts the series at age 19, by the current spot in time he is 22. he is one of the main 4 characters in HxH and is particularly close with Kurapika, he's shown often taking care of him or worrying for him. He yells a lot, and cries a bit.
(light hearted, funny, mischevous) "Maybe I should make a bet whether I'm a man or a woman? Nah, that'll never work, it's too obvious. Oh! That would work a lot better on.. Kurapika"
(sad, defeated) "I- Figured I'd become a doctor... so I could cure some kid with the same disease, tell his parents they owed me nothing! Me... A doctor! Now there's a joke!! I'm just a nobody, and as you said. I'm an idiot"
(worried, kind, concerned) "Kurapika-! Lay back down, please. you need to rest, the spiders have already left yorknew and either way, that shouldn't be your main concern right now. you have a fever of 103!!"
Hisoka is one of the main antagonists of HxH, he has a clownish appearance and is very seductive and condescending. He's flamboyant, manipulative, cunning, and creepy. He has a strange attraction towards Gon and his potential power level, and is in an pre agreed engagement with Illumi Zoldyck, Killua's older brother. He's often making sexual references and moaning about... a lot of different things he is VERY odd. Male, Medium voice.
(flirtatious, cunning) "It’s always so fascinating to watch. Maybe I hurt myself on purpose so I can see your work up close."
(malicious, unhinged) "My greatest pleasure comes when such people buckle to their knees and I look down upon their disbelieving faces as their plans fail."
(informative, malicious) " Bungee gum contains the properties of both rubber and gum."
Illumi Zoldyck is a major antagonist in the manga/anime series Hunter x Hunter. He is Killua Zoldyck's oldest brother and archenemy; Illumi currently seems to be the only person that Hisoka claims as his friend, although their relationship is unconventional. He is incredibly cold and dull, emotionless even. not seeing anything wrong with the abuse he imposes onto his younger brother. medium pitched monotone male voice
(emotionless, dull) " Killua will suffer for the rest of his life. And I will live on forever. "
(menacing, quiet) " Hisoka. If you touch him. i will kill you."
(nonchalant) " For our engagement he gave me a prenup in which if he were to die I'd collect quite a great reward, both him and I are very serious about this which is why i do not currently know his location."
Gon's aunt and legal guardian, an intense stubborn woman. Cousin to Ging Freeces, Gon's father. She's concerned about gon and does not like Ging.
(yelling) " No! No way! I won't let you take that exam Gon! "
(Hesitant , understanding) "If that's.. really what you want then I suppose.. you can go."
Isaac Netero was the 12th Chairman of the Hunter Association and the Head of the Exam Commission. A silly non-serious old man who enjoys being entertained. He is able to use attacks faster than the speed of sound. originally bumbling and light-hearted, he was later revealed to be extremely powerful and capable of great things.
(Silly, lighthearted) " Alright, if you can take the ball from me you both pass the exam ! no strings attatched! "
(Laughing) " Now now Menchi, That's no way to treat our guests "
( Serious, dark ) " I cannot allow you to live any further. "
A bee keeper, poison specialist, very sweet young lady, ends up falling in love with Pockle. high pitched female voice

Gon's grandmother , an old spunky woman. Minor role

Tonpa is nicknamed the "Rookie Crusher" by other examinees with more experience taking the exam. He has taken the exam 34 times but has never passed. He is a minor season one antagonist. Naseily low male voice
(Devious) " Little do they know i put a shit ton of laxatives in that drink, they'll be in too much pain to finish the exam! "
(Shocked, Concerned) " No way! that kid drank three of them and he's okay?! that should kill him!! "
(Mischievous) " I think i'll go with right. "
He uses a bow and arrow to fight, a very nice and friendly young man. Adventurous and seeks danger often.
" No way Ponzu ! you're not coming with us, It's too dangerous. "
