Good day everyone!
Welcome to the casting call for SYNOGRAM! Synogram is a visual novel indie game that is being made for the Spooktober! Game Jam hosted by DevTalk. If you would like to learn more about it please check out the following link. https://itch.io/jam/spooktober-2025
We are searching for voice actors to fill in for the characters below. Please note that the game will only be PARTIALLY voiced to keep realistic goals for the deadline.
What we expect of you:
- When you audition you agree you will have a 1-6 day turn around time for your lines.
- Voice acting will start the 2nd or 3rd week of September.
- To give it your all!
- Consenting to live recording sessions over discord. (Ideally, we would like to record the lines live but special accommodations [self-directed sessions can be made if needed.)
- Be 18+! For a multitude of reasons the creators of the project have discussed they do not want minors in the project. Please be mindful of this before auditioning!
What you can expect of me:
- Open communication
- Live OR written In depth and constructive feedback
- Creating a CCC credit for the role and putting your preferred name in the video game credits!
- Recommendations on CCC for those that complete the work , regardless if the game is submitted by the deadline.
- NO CASTING WILL BE DONE UNTIL THE DEADLINE
What you can expect from the project:
- At least PG-13 rating. Swear words will be used.
- Mention of religion / gods/ and deified figures
- Allusions to abuse [ "Rehabilitation"/ "Reformation" ]
- Game will be posted on Itch.io and a link will sent to the discord for all participants to view the final product.
- Possible awards for best voice actor , this does come with a monetary prize as listed in the game jam rules.
Please remember as this is a game jam the your work done is on a volunteer basis!

Hello wonderful voice actors!
Thank you for putting in your time, effort, and voice into our project! Due to the game jam deadline the team has decided they would like to shift the deadline to give them more time to implement your voices. The scripts are completed and we are ready to receive you!
This is your official notice that the deadline will now be ending on the 12th of Sept at 6:00am GMT+8.
What to expect from me
Once the deadline has lapsed I will be sending out DM's over CCC with content warning or triggers regarding roles. The highest priority actor for that role will receive them first. Please note that some actors may be contacted for a DIFFERENT role than you auditioned for.
If you accept to the terms and all possible trigger warnings we will assign you to the role and invite you to the discord!
Additionally, we do have a few roles of extras that need to be filled, so , even if you don't get a role in the main cast keep an eye out for a DM from me!

After getting feedback on Gunnar's voice requirements [Texan/Southern accent] by a few voice actors the team thought it would be best to remove those requirements to keep everything on track for the Game Jam.
