Berserk the Audio Manga, Episode 1: The Black Swordsman
Project Overview
Berserk is a dark fantasy manga, written by Kentaro Miura. Following the Black Swordsman Guts, a man with a cursed fate, the story explores the depths of camaraderie and betrayal, and contemplates whether or not a man truly has any control over his destiny. Over the course of almost 30 years, over 300 chapters have been released, with the end still not in sight. This project seeks to adapt the entirety of Berserk, taking the incredible artwork from the manga and adding music, sound effects, and of course, voice acting.
Episode 1 finds Guts entering the town that is under the malicious watch of Koka Castle, where an inhuman monster leads a band of thugs in slaughtering and consuming the helpless villagers. After saving the elf Puck, Guts endeavors to bring an end to the Snake Baron's evil reign--if not for the noble, heroic reasons that Puck hopes for.
While I do consider this a passion project, it is something I ask that everyone put their best effort into. I want this to be the highest quality I can make it, and to do that, I need my cast to have good recording equipment and the discipline to get their lines in on time. The Succubus is an Apostle, a human capable of turning into a demonic monster, who serves a master of unsurpassed evil.
While it is by no means required, brownie points to whoever can make a good demonic filter for the Apostle form!
(Moaning) "Yes..." (Transforming into Apostle form) "YESSSSS!"

His sword was so big it towered over him, and he split Dean in half in one stroke. He dressed all in black and had a false arm made of iron...a real shady-looking guy.

Void is the leader of the Godhand, the main driving force of evil in the world of Berserk. A human who was transformed to a being beyond the physical world's comprehension, Void is something like a malicious observer. While he rarely takes direct action, his influence is apparent throughout the world.
I'm looking for a sound like John Avner's in the English dub of Berserk 1997 and the Golden Age Arc film trilogy. The only difference between Void and the Narrator is a demonic filter on Void (which is not necessary in the audition, but certainly can't hurt your chances).
(Narrator) "It was much too big to be called a sword. Massive, thick, heavy and far too rough. Indeed, it was like a heap of raw iron."
(Narrator) "In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the Hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true that man has no control--even over his own will."
(Void) "You, who have been ordained by the laws of fate... Your desperate desire for life has cleaved open space and brought us here."

While he values the safety and well-being of his citizens, the Lord Mayor is a man consumed by fear and a selfish desire to stay alive in the face of the Snake Baron's inhuman cruelty.
For his voice, I recommend looking up Richard Springle from the English dub of Berserk 1997.
Y-your lordship. I have come to ask for your forgiveness for this recent transgression. This was the act of a vagrant who is unfamiliar with our ways. There is no connection with any of the townsfolk.
Enough! You have no idea how horrible he is...the ruler of those men...he...that thing...is beyond human. It’s something horrible and incomprehensible.

The Snake Baron is the head of a band of thugs, who has taken up residence of Koka Castle and has placed the land in a state of horror. Unbeknownst to most, he is also an Apostle, a human with the ability to transform into a demonic monster, who serves a master of unsurpassed evil.
For the Snake Baron's voice, I recommend looking up Lex Wutas' performance from the English dub of Berserk 1997. While not necessary, brownie points to whoever can make a good demon filter for the Apostle form!
