LET'S DUB: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Chapters 0-7)
Project Overview
Hello, everybody. This casting call is for a Let's Dub of the first seven chapters of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Eight, actually, if you include the tutorial mission. What's a Let's Dub, you ask? Well, it's what you get when you take out the unimportant or otherwise boring parts of gameplay (long pauses in strategy, unnecessary math, etc.) and edit together the good parts into a movie-esque YouTube thingy. Story and voice acting included.
For those of you who don't know, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is the ninth game in the Fire Emblem series, a bunch of turn-based strategy RPGs in fantasy settings. This game takes place in the land of Tellius, which is populated by beorc (humans) and laguz (humanoids who can change into animals and back again). One day, the beorc nation Daein attacks neighboring Crimea, killing off most of the royal family and causing the survivors to flee. Among the major players are the Greil Mercenaries, featuring a swordsman named Ike, who will one day rise up and lead the effort to retake Crimea from Daein.
That's where you people come in. I'll record the gameplay, and if you're selected for the roles you audition for, you'll dub for the characters you play. Feel free to ad lib battle efforts as well. Attack grunts, pain grunts, mid-fight skill activation banter, death cries, etc. Apart from minor characters, like bosses, the roles listed are in the order that they appear in-game. As for voice references, you don't have to match the voices exactly; what's more important is your ability to act overall. Also, if selected, you'll be invited to a small Discord server related to the project, so having a Discord handle is a must.
There will also be custom background music edited in.
When auditioning, please consider the following:
- Respect: Please show respect towards the directors and the other cast members. We will not tolerate rude behavior.
- Mic Quality: Please do not have any white noise, background sounds, etc…
- Acting: Please show emotion in your auditions. Acting is very important to bring a character to life.
- Have Fun! This project was designed to help expand actor’s horizons and also for them to have fun.

Ike is is the main character of this game, the son of Greil and Elena and elder brother of Mist. He starts out as a mercenary in his father Greil's mercenary troop, named the Greil Mercenaries.
He's a blunt yet passionate person who holds no prejudices and wins the trust and respect of others easily. He dislikes the overly formal lifestyles of nobles and sometimes doesn't think before he acts. One thing about him that's touched on but never really shown is his love of food, especially spicy meat dishes.
Voice reference: Himself (Greg Chun)
My name is Ike. Ike of the Greil Mercenaries.
I cannot let you expose yourself to danger of any kind. Everyone here is risking his life to ensure your safety. If you understand that, you’ll cooperate and do as I ask.
I’ll pass on the desserts… But I’ll take extra helpings of meat!
Greil is the leader of the Greil Mercenaries and the father of Ike and Mist. He was once Sir Gawain, one of the Four Riders of Daein, but he left the army to live a life in peace with his wife, Elena.
He's a brave, devoted leader of a man who considers all those close to each other family. There are some dark secrets that he carries, though, and he'd rather not share them unless the time is right.
Voice reference: Himself (Frank Todaro)
The name’s Greil. I’m the commander of this mercenary company.
All right. Tomorrow will be your first day as a full-fledged mercenary.
Listen up! This will probably prove to be the biggest fight this company’s faced. Remember–you’ve got only one life. I don’t want any of you dying on me. In times like these, it matters not what our blood ties are. We are family. If you don’t want to cause your family any grief, then live!
Mist is Ike's younger sister and Greil's daughter. She's a junior member of the Greil Mercenaries, and although she can't fight, she can heal her allies.
She's a cheerful girl who speaks from her heart and enjoys helping out as much as she can, even at things that she's not necessarily good at. She harbors a deep love for her family and will go to any measure to see them safe. However, she has a fiery determination to see whatever important thing she has decided on through, which can lead her to tremendous bursts of anger.
Voice reference: Jenny "XJ-9" Wakeman (Janice Kawaye)
Father! I can’t believe you! I know those are practice swords, but they’re still heavy! You have no right to be so rough on Ike.
Well, be careful! Oh, and bring me a souvenir! Something nice. I’ve never been to Melior before…
I wonder what that light means…
Boyd is a member of the Greil Mercenaries; the middle brother between himself, Oscar, and Rolf; and a good friend of Ike's.
He's brash, headstrong, and a little dense, but possesses a kind heart and a strong sense of justice. He cares little for tactics, preferring to simply power through whatever troubles come his way. This being Boyd, it usually works out.
Voice reference: Hong Yun-seong (Michael Reisz)
It’s nothing. Besides, I figured I’d get a good laugh watching Ike get worked over by the boss. You…look fine. What happened?
Hey, Ike! that wasn’t bad for your first battle. Not as flashy as my first time, though!
I’m in favor of helping her. That’s what heroes are supposed to do.
Titania is a former Crimean royal knight and the deputy commander of the Greil Mercenaries. She serves as a guide for the younger members, including Ike.
She's a caring person who values courage and justice almost as much as she values her fellow mercenaries. She can also be a stern taskmaster, making sure that nobody slacks off on her watch.
Voice reference: Captain Yuri Watanabe (Tara Platt)
Name pronunciation: tih-TAH-nee-UH
Everyone’s all right? Then let’s get going. I’m sure Mist has a nice, hot meal waiting for us.
It’s just that I…Look, we do good work, and we help people. I want you to be proud of that.
You’re going to succeed him as our commander some day. Perhaps he wants you to learn the qualities of leadership.
Oscar is a member of the Greil Mercenaries and the oldest brother between himself, Boyd, and Rolf.
He's a calm, cheerful, and polite person who tolerates the antics of others quite nicely, though he appears to fear the laguz, specifically the bird tribes. He's known to be an excellent cook but doesn't show any outward arrogance to the fact.
Voice reference: Kilik (Grant George)
Anyway, Ike. Congrats on finishing your first mission. Welcome to the group.
I agree with Captain Titania. If we turn the princess over to the Daein army, we’re essentially giving them permission to kill her.
I set a poor example, Commander Greil. Any punishment should be mine alone.
Rhys is the primary healer of the Greil Mercenaries and stays in the back due to his poor health.
He's a man of unfulfilled dreams, largely due to his constant sickness, which leaves him feeling guilty that he can't do more to help from time to time. Nonetheless, he's a gentle, caring person and maintains an optimistic outlook on life.
Voice reference: Medical officer Frank "Doc" DuFresne (Matt Hullum)
Name pronunciation: REEs
"Even the smallest lapse invites death." Right? I know, I know. My apologies to the rest of the team, then. It looks like I’ll be recuperating for a while longer.
It’s Mist and Rolf…They…They’ve been taken by bandits!
You’re going to succeed him as our commander one day. Don’t you think he wants you to know how to lead?
The youngest brother between himself, Boyd, and Oscar as well as the youngest member of the Greil Mercenaries. He has no apparent combat experience at this point but gets a chance to prove his worth later.
He's quite the crybaby at first glance, a fact that he constantly seeks to disprove but often lacks the confidence to do so. Nonetheless, he has a warm heart and will support those he thinks are in need however he can.
Voice reference: Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen)
But…I’m so scared…Aren’t you even a bit scared, Mist?
Hey! I'm not small! I'm a dangerous mercenary!
Leave it to us, Ike! We’ll just pretend it’s a game of hide-and-seek. And I never lose at hide-and-seek!
Shinon is a senior member of the Greil Mercenaries whose aptitude at firing and making bows is matched only by his poor attitude.
He's a sharp-tongued, self-absorbed man who is often seen as uncooperative and arrogant but harbors a deep respect for Greil. Unknown to most, he also has a soft spot for Rolf, having taught him archery in secret.
Voice reference: Roy Mustang (Travis Willingham)
A single arrow, right between the eyes? Who else could make a shot like that? No one, that’s who!
Pah! Jobs like this barely make a dent in my incurable boredom! It’s like that old buzzard said, there’s better work out there Something with a bit of challenge.
I don’t care how much we get paid; there’s no way under the sun I’m going to stinking beast country.
Gatrie is a senior member of the Greil Mercenaries and a stalwart protector...whenever he can get to the front line, that is.
He's a positive person who's ever confident in his skill and power as a knight, though he frequently complains about the others getting too far ahead of him and the sheer weight of his armor. More notably, he's a shameless skirt chaser, so much so that he gets duped by some of the women he goes after.
Voice reference: Fox McCloud (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) (Jim Walker)
Name pronunciation: GAH-tree
All I…did…was sweat…That…was h-hard…work…
Ho, Deputy Commander! You want standard thunder and lightning maneuvers here?
Princess Elincia…She does possess a certain regal beauty… There’s a lot to be said for that, you know. However I do prefer country girls…A bit cuter, and not quite so standoffish…Oh! Forget I said that. Whatever you decide is good for me, Commander. Yep, uh-huh, yep…
Nasir is a traveler who first appears in a house in chapter 3.
He's a secretive man whose politeness and compassion hide behind a veil of jadedness and aloofness. While committed to helping find a bridge between beorc and laguz, he'll go to any measures to help those he cares for, even betraying close friends and allies.
Voice reference: Master Chief Petty Officer John 117 (Steve Downes)
Name pronunciation: na-SEER
This town seems quite unruly, wouldn’t you say? Is it always this dangerous?
Oh…So it’s plagued by pirates, is it? I see. That would explain why the people here seem so anxious.
You appear to be a mercenary. Would I be right in supposing that you were hired to clean out the pirates?
Marcia is a pegasus knight searching for her guppy-brained lout of an older brother, which often lands her in mortal danger.
She's a cheerful, eager person but often shows extreme fits of rage towards enemy and family alike, specifically to her aforementioned brother. Despite dreading the strictness of her commanding officer, she executes her duties as a pegasus knight proficiently, like packing.
Voice reference: Lina Inverse (Lisa Ortiz)
Name pronuncation: MAR-shuh
Hey! You! Boat monkey! You tricked me, didn’t you?
You said you knew the whereabouts of my older brother. That’s why I came all the way to your ship.
Ike! Got it! And I am Marcia, a pegasus knight of Begnion. Don’t forget me! All right, I’ll be seeing you later!
Soren is the Greil Mercenaries' resident tactician and a powerful mage, specializing in wind magic.
He's typically rude and cold to others, preferring to be alone whenever possible. He acts with logic and has a pessimistic view of the world, putting others' feelings aside if it means benefitting the company he calls home. Nonetheless, the Greil Mercenaries value his tactics and are happy to have him around.
Voice reference: Keitaro Miura (Zach Aguilar)
Bad news. Something big is happening, and we need to formulate a plan of action.
Valor and courage are for children’s tales. In terms of military prowess, Daein’s King Ashnard is every bit Lord Renning’s equal. Victory will hinge on troop numbers and supplies, and Daein is superior in both. I think the outcome is painfully obvious.
You forced this combat. We cannot allow you to return home. Are you ready to die?
Elincia Ridell Crimea is the crown princess of Crimea and the last living member of the royal family.
She's an honorable woman with great loyalty to her country and its ideals, including improving beorc/laguz relations. Due to having a sheltered upbringing, she learned many manual chores like cooking, sewing, and packing.
Voice reference: Herself (Amanda C. Miller)
Master Greil, my lord Ike, you said that you were mercenaries, did you not? Please…Would you help me to gain Gallia? I beg of you! I have…no one…no one else to turn to.
Please don’t worry, Mist. I just hope that I don’t end up slowing you down by getting in your way.
Oh…It’s a lovely… That’s an incredible medallion, isn’t it? I wonder what that light is.
Petrine is one of the current Four Riders of Daein, said to wield a Flame Lance of terrible arcane might.
She's a hotheaded, strong-willed woman who doesn't tolerate failure whatsoever. She makes sure that everyone around her is right to fear her, even though she herself is terrified of the king of Daein himself.
Voice reference: Herself (Elizabeth Maxwell)
Name pronunciation: peh-TREEN
What? What did you just say? I think I must be hearing things. I thought you said, “They got away.”
Me? I am General Petrine, and my arrival marks your doom. Lament your fortune, dear children, for all hope is lost. You will not leave this place alive.
Dog’s breath! I’m surrounded by worthless imbeciles.
Ena is General Petrine's personal tactician with a hidden agenda of her own.
She's a secretive, empathetic young woman who will go to any measure to accomplish her goals. Although she dislikes conflict, she accepts it as a natural part of life, no matter how awful it may turn out.
Voice reference: Princess Bubblegum (Hynden Walch)
Name pronunciation: EE-nuh
If she gains sanctuary in Gallia, capturing the princess will become that much more difficult….The mercenaries she has escorting her are a powerful group, not one to be taken lightly. I will gather intelligence on them as quickly as…
General Petrine, you will go…yourself?
I... I must go to him...
The narrator is a disembodied voice that tells the tale of the Radiant Hero Ike and his band of mercenaries as they fight their way across Tellius during what would later be known as the Mad King's War.
The continent of Tellius, blessed by the goddess. To the northwest lies the land of Crimea, home of the Greil Mercenaries.
Without warning, Crimea’s eastern neighbor, the kingdom of Daein, launches an attack on Crimea’s capital city of Melior.
Ike leads a handful of mercenaries to Melior, to confirm Soren’s news of the attack. En route, they happen upon a young woman, unconscious but unharmed. Fearing for her safety, they take her to their stronghold.
Mia is a sellsword hired to bolster the Crimean army's numbers, but she ends up joining Ike and co. while they try to retrieve Greil.
She's an energetic and quirky person who's always eager for a fight, looking to prove her mettle whenever possible. Despite her eccentricities, she's also willing to help those in need.
Voice reference: Seong Mi-na (Erica Mendez)
I’m Mia. I’m a mercenary, hired by Crimea to bolster the army’s numbers.
Huh…You’re taking on a whole Daein battalion with these numbers? Nice. That settles it then!
We’ll worry about the details later! Great, so that’s all taken care of. What next, boss man?
Ranulf is a warrior of Gallia, the kingdom of the beast tribes. He is sent by King Caineghis to aid Ike and his companions.
He's a bright, cheeky, friendly person who doesn't hold grudges, and is quite intuitive to boot. Once he enters the battlefield, though, he's courageous in the face of impossible odds, even when faced with enemies that he knows he can't defeat.
Voice reference: Ratchet (James Arnold Taylor)
Name pronunciation: RAH-nulf
Attention, Daein soldiers! Leave this place at once! If you do not comply immediately, you will face Gallia’s full strength!
Hey! Are you planning on taking us all on by yourself?
Huh? You show manners? How odd. I like that. Now, you are…Who, exactly?
You know who he is.
Voice reference: Himself (Robert Clotworthy)
Here. Use this blade.
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. I would prefer it if you used your proper weapon, so that I might see you at your full strength…General Gawain, Rider of Daein.
Is that all there is? No challenge? No resistance?
What’s going on out there? Is that some sort of army? Pah. A bunch of mercenaries looking for their next meal.
You looking for something, fool? You looking for a fight? Heh heh… You came to the right place. I’ll give you a tussle!
I…I’m meant for better than this…I don’t want to die here…
So you came, did you, boys? Is it just you, then? You came alone? You seriously underestimate what we’re capable of doing to you. Now, where’s that snobby, red-haired wench you ride with?
Graaw! We won’t lose, not to the likes of you!
This…This can’t be…I don’t deserve to lose to sellswords like you…
Yar har ho! Me belly’s emptier ‘n me first mate’s head! Fetch me some grub!
Yahar har harrr! Yer bustin’ me gut, ye rudderless fool! Do ya truly think ye can face me mighty axe and live?
Yaaaarr…arrr…Help me…
Ah, not going to cooperate, eh? Ready your weapons, men! Move in and kill them all!
Grrr! Blasted mercenaries. They’re better than I expected. Even so, they’ll not prove a match for Daein’s finest!
Gwaa haa…Wretched curs…You will regret your decision to oppose Daein…
Dakova is the boss of chapter 5.
No…Princess Crimea is somewhere within that fort. If we use flaming arrows to try to smoke them out, we might bring the princess to harm. We’ve been told to do our best to deliver her alive and uninjured. It would be preferable if they were to come out of their own accord. If they do, slay all but the princess!
What’s going on? Weren’t they supposed to be completely surrounded?
I…don’t believe it…What went wrong…
We’ve spotted the mercenaries! You there! Inform General Petrine at once! Request that she gather the troops!
Try me! I’ll not let even a single soldier get past!
Oooh…My life ends here…But…though you flee to Gallia…you will…fall to Daein…
It will work out. Reinforcements will be arriving soon. Once they’re here, I want you to end this farce at once!
Hmph. You wretches…You’re not worthy of General Petrine’s attention. I will roast your bones and present them to her as a trophy!
Urgg…Ahh…
Villagers, enemies, generic soldiers, etc.
What's that? Thieves are taking advantage of the commotion to sack our little town? We must close the front gate! Thanks for your help! Oh, I almost forgot! Please. take this as a token of thanks. Go on, take it!
It’s those fool villagers…They think they can buy a bunch of sellswords to chase us away. It ain’t gonna work out how they wanted. All they get for their trouble is a bunch of ruined houses. Tear’em down, boys! That’ll teach ’em!
You’ve nary a selfish bone among you. Well then, rest assured we’ll speak again if any problems arise. Thank you again.
Villagers, enemies, generic soldiers, etc.
Say, aren't you...You are! You're one of those Crimeans that the Daein soldiers are after, aren't you?...Go on, get moving. I'll pretend I didn't see anything. Don't worry, just go! Wait a second...Here. Take this with you.
Bad news, ma'am. We've sighted laguz near the apostle's position. Birdmen. Crows, most likely.
If it's gold you're after, take that scroll on the floor there. You may be able to sell it. It's just something I picked up, so I don't know if it has any value. But take it anyway, you dirty thief!
