Dark PC Game - Vaporum

Dark PC Game - Vaporum

Project Overview

Hey, folks.

My name is Matej, a developer on a PC game Vaporum (video) in the making. It's a steampunk dungeon crawler in the veins of such classics as Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder.

We're looking for talented voice actors for a few of the main characters in the game.

Thank you for your time!

We're looking for a male voice for a young, ambitious, and sleazy guy. American English. It's a paid work.

James Kroll is a whiz-kid who recently graduated from a prestigious university with distinction, of which he's very proud. He is super-ambitious, sleazy, and will go to any lengths to get praise and recognition. Although his voice is soothing and pleasant, he is a cold, calculated, and heartless bastard underneath. He is this communistic kid who believes in every word of the totalitarian propaganda of the Bureau (governing body), filled with ideals and blueprints for a "better society". He craves appreciation from authorities. The bigger the authority, the better. His goal is to get to the very top of the social pyramid.

James gets a super-exciting job in a secret project, a tower built in the middle of an ocean, to mine and research a mysterious substance discovered in a fallen meteor. He quickly rises through the ranks..

  • (Excited and proud.) I've been waiting for this moment my whole life! Studying at the Great Bureau University comes with prestige, sure, but now, I can start my career. At last! As one of the proud draftsmen for the Head Architect of the Bureau, the Arx Vaporum is partly my doing! The tower is a testament to our technological advances. The Arx is going to bring about a historical breakthrough once we decipher the substance at the sea bottom, the marvellous fumium, and show to the world what it can do! We have great expectations!

  • (Proud and satisfied.) Another great success! Today, the local coordinator for the Bureau and Chief Officer of the Arx, Marcus Rike, appointed me Deputy Foreman of Manufacture. I'll take care of workshops, maintenance, and manufacture itself. I'm so proud that Mr. Rike recognized my accomplishments. He is a model to me. Not only is he an experienced scientist and a veteran of the Island Wars against the rebels, he's also the ideal man the Bureau could have chosen to lead the project. He and his wife Lora are a blueprint for how I picture my life in the future.

We're looking for a dark, evil, melodic, confident & cocky, and preferably deep female voice to give life to our main antagonist. American English is a must! It's a paid work.

In short, Lora, the main female villain of the game, is a stern, strict, pragmatic and sometimes psychotic scientist, possessed / controlled by an alien lifeform, and as such, nothing is an obstacle to her in her quest for power. Human life is a mere vessel to achieve what she wants. What it wants.

At first, Lora is a bright, but otherwise normal woman, enthusiastic about a new research project, but becomes obsessive about it over time, resulting in an all-controlling ego-maniac. This change should reflect in the voice as well.

  • (In part lovingly, in part determined.) My Marcus was chosen by the Bureau to lead Arx Vaporum, which is under construction out there at the high seas right now. We decided to accept the offer to live there and lead the research. It's a test our marriage must undergo. I stood by my loving husband during his years in the military, and I'm ready to support him now.

  • (A little obsessive and angry.) The substance is a lot more intriguing than we ever thought! We must give the research all we got. I keep asking Marcus to assign more people to my research, and to ask the Bureau for more scientists, too. I'm having a fit of anger every other day because of all this inept personnel! We got two serious accidents already, because the dumb dabblers can't work safely and rigorously under pressure. Like me!
