Project Overview

Hello everybody!

This is an project I started back in January. It's an animated original short film driven by story and characters 

Since I started, I've finished the script, and I've made significant progress on drawing sets and rigging characters for animation. Point being, I've already invested a lot of time in this project, and you can therefore be confident that I intend to see it through :) I've also listed some of my previous projects below if you wanted to take a look at some of the things I've done.


Actor perks:

The video will be posted to my YouTube and Newgrounds. All actors' names will be featured in the opening credits of each episode, and again in the video description alongside any social/business links that the actor wishes to be published. I hope to have at least one or two episodes out by the end of the year.



Also, if cast, I'm happy to, after we finalize your lines, write you a testimonial and/or recommendation for all your CCC needs and desires.



The paid amount for each character will depend on a combination of amount of lines and emotional dedication to the role.

The project:

The video is going to split into five episodes, with an estimated total runtime of about fifteen to twenty minutes (don't quote me on that).


Story summary:
The story follows a man named Felix as he chases fame and happiness through his comic book writing. He comes up against several obstacles -- both outside and within his mind -- along the way, and we see how his actions affect his own life and the lives of those around him. The story is often dark, and just as often lighthearted.

Things you'll need:

  • - A decent mic and setup (At least a Yeti in a very quiet room, please.)

  • - An email address, preferably Gmail

  • - A face pretty enough for voice acting


Actor expectations:
Actors will need an ability to interpret a script and display the appropriate emotion and tone of voice. I also would like actors to be punctual if cast. If you warn me of a deadline conflict I'll be reasonably flexible, but in any other case of tardiness, you are likely to be dropped from the project.

  • The cast is finalized!

    I wanted to give one last huge thank you to everyone who auditioned. I really do mean it when I say that it was extremely difficult to choose. If you’ve been cast, expect a message with further information soon. If anyone has any other questions regarding the project or anything else, please don’t hesitate to ask me in the project comments.   • Quick Update: Final Day

    First things foremost, I'd like to express how blown away I am. Thank you all so much for the auditions -- it's been an honor to hear so much talent, and it's often been torture to have to choose between it. All roles will stay open until 11:59 PM PST tonight, and decisions will be posted very soon after that. If you are cast, please keep an eye out for a CCC private message with more information. Thank you all, again, so much. I'll be back in less than 24 hours with the cast list!

  • Quick Update 1

    Huge thanks to everyone who's auditioned so far. I don't think I've yet received a bad audition, which should be a source of pride for you, and also makes it harder for me XD I have people in mind for each role, but I won't be making any casting announcements until the deadline (Thursday, July 13, 11:59 PM PST). This update is mostly to thank everyone for the auditions and to reassure you that I haven't gone missing, I'm just a bit quiet for now. Thanks again, and keep doing what you're doing! -- Danny

Felix's therapist, often says things that good therapists do not. Grows to become a very close friend to Felix.


This role will require some serious emotional range.

  • [Amused] No. No! It's just that simple! Seriously! I get that it feels good to be sad, but is that really all you want to be? Just sad all the time?!

  • Look at me. You know what's been eating at me? You wanna know why I think maybe I hate you? You looked at me in the eye and you said that you didn't have anything to tell me. You kept saying, "I don't have a story, I don't have a story." You have a LIFE, Felix! Every day you get up, you go to work, you come back home, you shit and you sleep. That's the stuff I get paid to hear about. I didn't need some grandiose story, some... journey. I just needed you to talk to me, I just wanted to help you.
    [Beat.]
    But... but, no. You were so, fucking unsatisfied because you thought you were meant for something more than that. But you know what, Felix? Someone has to tell you that you're just like EVERYBODY ELSE. And this FEELING you're looking for, you will never have it. Listen to me. You will NEVER have it.
    Fuck! ...Fuck. That's all, man.

  • [Calming down from an existential rant. Voice still shows slight signs of crying] 
    ...Really. Who cares? Nothing matters. Nothing matters but right now. Am I crazy? Say something, Felix, gimme something to work with.
    [Beat.]
    Heh. Imagine if we got a receipt at the end of life. 'Beep'. 'You did good. You did a good life'. Imagine... imagine there's a point system. A... point.

A superhero from a comic book, doesn't act like a real person. He's purely a comedic character -- think a slightly over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek Superman. Or a toned-down Deadpool with a little less self awareness.

Acts like a generic news anchor in the beginning. After receiving dismal news they begin to wrestle with unpleasant thoughts, and this begins to show in how they act.

  • Okay, so, we're here with this space scientist.
    ...Huh. Um. Define "giant" for us. Exactly how big are we talking?
    ...Alright... and I'd like to repeat for viewers who may be just joining us, this is at this point all speculation-.
    Okay! Give me something to work with here! How are we-? How can we stop this thing?

  • Okay, lemme get this straight. There's an enormous meteor headed towards earth. It will be here in a year. There's no way we can stop it. And when it hits us, all life... the entire planet... is going to be destroyed.
    [Normal, cheerful anchor voice]...Big thanks to all the space scientists! Let's cut to some street interviews we did, asking people about this news.

  • Before... we'd... I certainly never thought about death. Now... children... children... This morning my 6-year-old daughter looked up at me and she said, "Daddy, [or Mommy] when I die, I'm gonna love you in that moment. And I don't know if there's a heaven, but if there is, I'm gonna love you then, too." It's... Jesus Christ...We're gonna be erased. And I... I think it's the best thing that's ever happened to us.

Very matter-of-fact. They are happy with they news they are presenting, and otherwise generally content.

  • And besides that, we've seen an increase in art and philosophy. Masterpieces of escapism, of raw emotion on par with the true art classics are being released every day, what with all the paintings, comic books, and movies. The stories we've been telling are paramount.
