Hello! My name is Bazz and I am in need of some amateur talent for a dub of the game "Emily is Away".
"Emily is Away" is a short, linear indie game set in the early-to-mid 2000s. The story of the game is portrayed through messages on AOL between Emily and the main protagonist.
This play-through will be uploaded to my new YouTube channel, and will not contain any commentary that you would see in a normal let's play, just the voices that are used in the dub, so the voices will really need to be entertaining yet accurate and respectful to the source material. I envision this project being something someone would have on as background noise or to fall asleep to rather than something you watch full-screen for the entire 30 minutes, so keep that in mind whilst auditioning.
People of all different experience levels are welcome to audition, but here are some general requirements
1) Please have decent audio. I understand not everyone has an amazing set-up, I don't either, but common errors like extreme background noise and loud pops or cracks in the audio will generally ruin the immersion that we are trying to create. If you don't own a pop-filter, try throwing a sock over your mic! Mess around in Audacity and watch some tutorials on how to create smooth audio with cheap equipment. Auditions with clean audio will be more likely to be selected then auditions where I can hear your dog whaling in the background
2) If you do multiple takes of the same line (which is absolutely fine and encouraged) make sure to make it unique and completely different from your other takes.
3) Have a discord account. I will have a server for all my voice actors where I will make updates about current projects and future auditions, but even if you don't want to be a part of that discord is my main platform of communication. I plan on sending/receiving lines there, as well as potentially hosting read-through practice so we can make the project as great as possible!
