Dream State : An Indie Series
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
This casting call is for the PILOT episode of my series "Dream State," that will be airing on YouTube, that follows a group of teenagers deciding to start a band on a whim, with little to no experience. The art style will ideally be inspired by minimally animated versions of comic-books, graphic novels and manga.
This pilot is fully written, however, the rest of the series is still in its early conceptual phase. Not yet are some directions too concrete: I want to build a team of people who are passionate about having an influence on the work they are part of, whether you're a voice actor, a writer or an artist. Your input can help develop a fun, coming-of-age story.
Images are currently placeholders from this Picrew (https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/1815671) to help you visualise the characters before the final production. I do not own these images and they will not be used beyond this.
You don't need to have any experience to audition, but you must have Discord.

Beatrice "Bea" is the protagonist of the show and the lead singer and songwriter of the band. She's a try-hard, who ironically wants to appear effortlessly cool. The girl is the definition of rebellious, her heavily strict parents don't know her at all. Perhaps there's something deeper, something that she's actually struggling with underneath.
To audition for this role, you must be comfortable with voice acting upsetting lines, including references to underage addiction. It is preferable if you're able to sing, but not required.

Deziya is one of the lead protagonists of the show and the bassist of Dream State. She could be defined as the more timid one of the group, though, that's only on the surface, as she certainly grows into herself upon forming the band. She's very easily influenced, as shown by her dynamics with her best friend, Bea, and her unrequited crush, HoYeon. Her tendencies to purposely make corny or "cringe" jokes tends to fly over people's heads, making her come across as rather outdated.
To audition for this role, you must be comfortable with voicing corny teenage love.

HoYeon is one of the lead protagonists and the guitarist of Dream State. Unlike her friends, she lacks in cynicism and negativity, choosing to have a more positive outlook on life. The band are initially quick to reject her as a viable member, given how studious she is and her more effeminate style, but are rapidly surprised by her interest and skills. She's confident (sometimes coming off as cocky) in herself and likes to encourage others to be, too. However, it soon becomes obvious she's struggling with aspects of her own identity.
To play this role, you must be comfortable with voicing romantic implications.

Maya is one of the lead protagonists and the drummer of Dream State. Her classmates often find her unnerving and intimidating, due to the persona she likes to put on and her edgier style. This doesn't bother her at all, as she makes abundantly clear, in fact, she seems to like the attention. Despite this, she's a sweet girl, who cares deeply for her friends and is incredibly loyal.
