VA Auditions for Comic Adaptation - $2 per line with three takes minimum

VA Auditions for Comic Adaptation - $2 per line with three takes minimum

Project Overview

PLEASE NOTE: There's a chance this project may not go anywhere, so bear that in mind when auditioning.

Hello! I'm chasing American accent, English speaking Voice Actors, with a more grounded appraoch to the voices, not cartoony. Think more along the lines of Anime or Justice League and less like The Simpsons.

Role listing is by order of appearance, not significance. All roles to be paid $2 per line, covering retakes.

This project is basically a second draft of my existing webcomic, DON'T BE HEROES. A smaller scale superhero story with suspence, humor and action. - Contains mostly fantasy violence and infrequent cursing. Minor sexual content will crop up a few times later in the story, both visual and verbally (worse case scenarios would be a character in an outfit that shows a lot of skin, or a remark about their own or someone else's appearance.)

The plan is to dub the story up to where it currently is. If I'm really feeling it, it'll be animated instead, so I'll catagorise it as such. Overall, we're working with at least a 30 minute story.

  • PLOT SYNOPISIS:

"Ace, with a heart bigger than his brain, has taken early retirement from the Peace Force to confront crime his own way.

However, after encountering an unusal but dangerous pairing, he must now try recruiting his own team of misfi--HEROES to help take down this threat before more damage can be done.

Makes sense, doesn't it. Since there is always strength in numbers, right? ...RIGHT?!"

  • THE COMIC:

The whole thing is probably a 30 minute read too, and

I recommend checking out as much as you can before auditioning, so you can get a better feel for the characters and vibe.

  • A TIP FOR AUDITIONS:

There will be scenes in the story where emotions run high, but there's quite a lot of dialogue that's subdued or neutral too, even in the comedy. So I again highly suggest including a neutral take for any of the roles.

--Info for paid work:

  • PAYMENT:

  • Paypal, upfront.

  • $2 per line, covering any retakes.

  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • 24-hour turnaround.

  • Good availablity.

  • Acting covering a range of emotions, along with voice foley.

  • A good quality, balanced mic (mono would be preferred but stereo ain't a dealbreaker), no background noise, sound clipping or peaking (these things ARE dealbreakers!)

  • Minimum of three deliveries per line.

  • Able to read a traditional script, as we may switch to one (probably seems obvious, but this has been an issue before.)

  • Preferrably, experience working on similar projects!

  • WORKLOAD:

  • Going by previous projects, it'll range from minutes or up to a few hours, depending on role.

  • Regarding retakes, if any, we're likely to go up to three at max, per line.

  • THE... *gulp* ...DEADLINE:

  • I like to give two weeks to get all recording done, but there's no strict schedule.

  • DELIVERY:

  • WAV format at around 2000kbps, through either zip folders or GoogleDrive links.

  • Naming or seperating files aren't important initially, but may be required for any retakes.

  • CONTACT:

  • I'll be reaching out to those who get the roles through PM here or email.

  • I likely won't be 100% available myself during the project, so will be chatting and giving feedback through email or voice messaging.

  • PLEASE, if there's a delay at your end for whatever reason, inform me when you can.

  • Worth noting that I'm situated in the United Kingdom, so timezones may get in the way of reponse time!

  • CREDIT:

  • I always give it where it's due, so I'll be asking for your name/pen name and a social to plug! (can remain anonymous, if ya want)

--

Please remember this project may not go anywhere in the end, but I'll keep everyone posted through project updates. If it's good to go, I'll immediately start assigning roles after the deadline and we'll go from there.

Thank you for the interest! I'll try answering any questions or let me know if I've missed anything important out (which is always likely) 👍
