Hello, Thank you everyone who auditioned for the role of Chronicler. It was an incredibly difficult decision due to the really high quantity of very high quality auditions! We have now opened up auditions for our 'Advisor' roles, I would encourage everyone to take a look and apply if you think you'd be a good fit! Thanks, Oliver (Director Orthrus Studios)
- About
- Male
- · Orc Noble
- · Very old, very stubborn and not willing to make sacrifices or changes as doesn’t want to risk damaging the world any further.
- · One of the few Orcs who has had a ‘vision’ of the Goddess Neiri.
- · Very argumentative when he needs to be.
- · Softly spoken – quite gentle
- · Devout in following Neiri’s message and path
- · Tends not to rush into things – very slow at making decisions
- · Very loyal to his people but also very strict and disciplined.
- Appearance
- · Tall and imposing as all Orcs are, but may be starting to stoop a little more than he normally would due to his advanced age.
- · Tree-based: possibly Oak. Oak trees reach old age at 700 years and live to be around 1000 years old. Ferniss won’t be that old (maybe 100 tops)
- · Oak trees also grow to be approximately 150 feet tall, so their roots grow deep, they are strong and wise
- · Miniature Oak trees growing on him
- · Could have bits of him breaking off and leaves shedding etc. as another way of representing his advanced age – give off the impression of a wizened old man.
- · One larger tree growing from one shoulder where a bird has taken up residence and started to nest. Ferniss is constantly covered in bird droppings down one arm and down his back, but can’t disturb the next and so is resigned to it. Eventually becomes attached to his pet bird.
“Good! The Adventurers are setting off
now. Once they discover something, a new part of the map will be revealed, and
you’ll be able to build there.”“Now that your town’s growing in size,
you may want to consider using Quarters.”“From here, you can add warehouses and
tell the trade cart whether it should pick up or drop off a certain resource,
and how much. You can assign names to routes to make them easier for you to
remember what they do. I know I forget things these days…” [morose tone]
About
· Human noble
· Male
· Mid-40’s. Voted in as advisor by his people several years ago
· Calming influence on the group – fairly laid back.
· A little too laid back about some things in terms of politics and social matters – just willing to accept things as the way they are as they are the ‘will’ of the Gods and Goddesses.
· Firm believer in justice being done, but only when it suits humans and paints them in a positive light.
· Eager to cover things up if necessary and pin the blame on someone else to protect the interests of his people and himself.
· Quite sociable – often hosts events and parties at his house to boost his social status and make himself look good in the eyes of other nobles – very much about appearances.
· Doesn’t like to get his hands dirty but will if it makes him look good
· Middle ground decision making. Thinks before he speaks, is quick to make decisions but thinks them through first.
Appearance
· Medium height and build (not very muscular as doesn’t work particularly hard)
· Early-mid 50’s
· Brown hair that is starting to go grey in places
· Blue eyes
· Slightly tanned skin from enjoying time socialising with other nobles in the grounds of his mansion
· Dresses very well to the point of being over the top – bright colours, expensive fabrics, artistic flair etc.
· Tries to imitate the Elves in a way – tries to be elegant and poised in the way he walks and talks.
“Remember, resources keep everything
running. Keep an eye out for what you and your people need. Before you go on, I
suggest you put down a lumberyard or two, so you can keep building.”“Your settlement’s off to a good start,
but now it’s time to start branching out.” [uplifting, almost cheerful]“At a tavern, you can pay
Adventurers to venture forth and explore. Or, failing that, you can spend the
rest of the afternoon there yourself!” [laughing]
About
- Elf noble
- · Female
- · Appears to be in her 30’s but is actually much older (maybe 70’s or 80’s) – this is because the Elves have tampered with their own genetics so much over the years during their scientific experiments that they’ve managed to slow their own ageing processes down.
- · Very snobbish and condescending, especially towards Ema to the point where she deliberately baits and winds her up.
- · Dannet often must step in to stop full-blown arguments breaking out during meetings
- · Ashryn never plans for violence, but enjoys the animosity between herself and Ema
- · Ashryn has been an advisor for the longest of the four apart from Fernis
- · Very strong believer in knowledge/science magic – very intelligent and very skilled in environmental magic (plants etc.)
- · Expensive tastes – collects arcane objects
- · Doesn’t use her faith to hide wrongdoing – not like Dannet does – instead owns up to it BUT refuses to acknowledge that she is in the wrong.
- · Very stubborn and set in her ways.
Appearance
- · Tall and graceful
- · Silvery-blonde hair (worn in a variety of styles, all of which are very usually very intricate)
- · Light tanned skin with bright green eyes (cat-like)
- · Very well-dressed in expensive gowns and jewellery
- · Very clean always to the point of being almost sterile
- · Slender build – virtually no extra fat or muscle at all.
- · Narrow across the shoulders with long arms and legs
- · Subtle colour schemes, but you can tell that the clothes are well-made and expensive. Velvet/silk type fabrics?
- · Very elegant
[apprehensive, sarcastic tone] “So,
you’re the one who’s going to sort out all of our problems? Ha! There’s a lot
resting on your shoulders. There’s a lot of us in this new world, and not much
for us.”“It doesn’t look like your
finances are doing too well. See how its red up there? That means you’re losing
more than you’re making. Just how do
you intend to fix that?” [snooty, stuck-up]“You can get more information in the
‘City Status’ menu down at the bottom right.”
About
- · Dwarf noble
- · Female
- · Mid-late 20’s. Recently inherited the role of adviser following the sudden death of her mother
- · Quite fiery and hot-headed
- · Very quick to speak her mind and not think things through
- · Strong moral fibre and keen to see justice done fairly.
- · Very passionate about family and community
- · Hard worker despite being a noble – skilled blacksmith.
- · Believer in Vox but not as strongly as others
- · Sometimes makes rash decisions – mother died very unexpectedly (perhaps killed by a human in a racial attack) so she has not had training for the role of adviser and is very inexperienced.
- · Sees herself more of a guide and carer more than a leader for her people – speaks for the people who cannot speak for themselves.
Appearance
- · Dark hair and eyes – this can change/is open to suggestion
- · Pale skin
- · Constantly grubby even though she is a noble – she doesn’t need to work as hard as she does and has the access to facilities that lower ranking Dwarves do not. She just doesn’t wash before meeting with the other advisors to annoy them.
- · Muscular from getting stuck in and working hard
- · Clothing – quite simple for a noble. Tunic, leggings and boots with a cape/cloak in the winter. Hair usually tied back. Very practical for working.
- · Understated colour scheme – neutrals
- · Very little jewellery – maybe something that belonged to her mother or her mother even made but that’s it.
- · Quite minimalist/modest for a noble. Very community-oriented and doesn’t want to position herself above her people any more than she must.
“Since you’ve got two warehouses, you
need to keep something in mind about how they work.”“You may still be getting the hang of
building, but you’ve certainly got a talent for finding things! That’s some
gold. Gold is used to create high end amenities for your wealthy citizens.”
[encouraging]“Good, now place it.
As time goes on, you’ll want to place more. Your first Warehouse has some
resources to get you started, thankfully!” [hopeful, excitable tone]
A narrator for a 90 second long Animation. The Animation serves as the introduction to an upcoming Medieval High Fantasy City Builder Game.
The Humans. Sturdy, determined, homely, the life-blood of trade [someone stumbles out of tavern, drink in hand][small sigh, resigned tone] depending on when the tavern opens
[Animation takes a darker tone here at the mid point] In time, hostilities deepened, and the kingdoms collided, warring until Talam fell to its knees, nothing more than a desolate wasteland
[Uplifting, filled with hope for the future] To mend the bonds broken by greed and malice, they must unite to build a civilisation in the distant kingdom, or risk destroying themselves once more. A new day is dawning. A new era has begun.
