Different Turf is a Blender animated 3 episodes long show, that follows ‘Cynthia’ – an Inkling, who joins the Octarian Army by themselves.
An Inkling in the Octarian Army – a true new home?
As described above, we are following ‘Cynthia’ a year before the events of Hero Mode 1. During this time, they encountered with an Octoling, called Laura. After some specific events that happened for both, Laura invites ‘Cynthia’ to the army as a second chance. ‘Cynthia’ hesitates but ends up giving a chance. How well they will handle this new direction of their life, and more importantly – how do Octolings react around this Inkling. Hostile, warm, or they need some time to truly open up?

Different Turf also follows ‘Cynthia’s new teammates, Laura, Ashley and Max. All three of them are hiding something from their past, and present. Things they see embarrassed about, or just awkward. Secrets, that will be told – but was it the right idea?
A story that was waiting for almost 8 years.
Different Turf first came to my mind on 2017 January 2nd. Ever since then, I was toying with the idea, and only now that a 46 pages long script is done, I consider making it happen. I see the project as a hobby of mine, and I would love to see it as big as I never thought before.
When will Different Turf comes out?
When it will be done. I do not want to rush anyone here, as I know, animation is a long process. I do plan to release it by the middle or end of next year, but nothing is set in stone.
What roles are available to pick, and how will payment work?
I am looking for voice actors (main character, supporting character and few extras) animators, musician, and video editor. All these roles are paid in a flat rate, with a minimum guaranteed payment. This means that before the release of Different Turf, I will pay the before mentioned salary – and I am planning to pay more in the future as well. This is a big project, and I would look like a bad person if this would be free work.
