Deltarune The Musical: Chapter 1

Project Overview

Thank you for your interest in Deltarune the Musical! Inspired by similar projects, I and a few others have decided to create a Deltarune musical of our own! This show will combine songs from the soundtrack with songs from Disney/Broadway when a song doesn’t fit the tone or doesn’t exist in a specific area. It will then be uploaded onto youtube in parts, as to make it easier to make and distribute.

We are looking for sound mixers, video editors, artists, and, of course, cast members! All crew must have Discord AND be dependable. We cannot constantly have to check in on you guys, we’d like you to work independently and keep us updated on your progress. We’ll be flexible if you’re upfront about setbacks, but lack of communication doesn’t help anyone. All crew members will be fully credited in the videos. Artists must be digital.

Note: For reasons that will be clear to the cast/crew when they join, we will not be casting the original Undertale characters, though they will appear in the show.

Additionally, cast members:
Must have a good ear for pitch. We understand that going off key every once in a while happens, and pitch correction is fairly simple. However, we’d like to keep pitch correction and requests to re-record at a minimum.
Must be able to keep their voice while singing. Probably obvious but believe me, it happens a lot more than you would think.
Must have good mic quality. No echoes or low-quality sounds.
Must be easy to contact. If we don’t hear from you in a few weeks, we’ll assume you’ve left the project.

Notes:

  1. 1.  The example songs that are suggested are only there to help you with your audition and has nothing to do with the final song selections in the musical.
    2.  In your audition, you can sing with or without a scratch track but must be able to work with one if you're cast.
    3.  I'll try to give feedback as soon as possible so if you haven't gotten any yet, don't worry I'm working on it :)
    4.  All crew members will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
  2. 5.  Commitment for musical adaptations for later chapters is not required since we don't know what the future holds but it would be nice to keep the cast if the opportunity would arise.

To end this long description, I want to thank you who've read through it all and I can't wait to hear your auditions :)

Auditions will last for the next two weeks and then a possible callback will be held for the whole week after.

    Hi everyone, I’m finally back and after a 3 week of auditions and callbacks I can confidently say that I’ve found an amazing cast! Sorry for taking some time but I really wanted to get this right. Before we start, a couple of things I’ve mentioned before but are good to repeat: * You might find yourself in a role that you didn’t audition for, which is because we really enjoyed your audition but thought you would fit more in this new role. As I’ve said before, you can always turn down the offer! * If you didn’t make the cut doesn’t mean that your audition was bad, just not the right fit for the role in our opinion.   • Casting and Callbacks!

    Hey everyone, sorry for taking a little bit but now the time has come for callbacks! Firstly though, I want to thank you all so much for all of the wonderful auditions I’ve gotten, they were a joy to listen to! Now there are some roles that had too good of a competition to choose from here alone so I will be holding callbacks for those. When that’s done I’ll announce the full cast list!   • Notes about casting

    Hi everyone! As we're less than a week from the end of auditions I just wanted to say that you might get casted for a role you didn't audition for. This is because we might have found a better fit for that specific part (in our opinion) but we still felt like you could be a part of it! Of course you always have the right to decline that offer but I just wanted to let you all know! That's all for now, see ya in about a week!

Non-binary, teenager, mezzo-soprano or tenor with a similar range to a mezzo, teenager. The range must include G3-F#5. Clear voice and diction, you don’t have to belt but you do have to be able to sing long notes (at least 10 seconds). Give Kris a personality in your audition!

Alto/contralto, teenager. Ideally can reach up to F#5 (only 1 song gets that high) but we will work with you if you can’t go up that high. The lower you can go, the better. We’re looking for a bored, apathetic tone. Really sound like you don’t care. And when Susie gets ticked off, definitely add a growl or something that sounds incredibly intimidating. If you can sing in that tone, even better! Must be able to rap and belt.

The male range is tenor, the female range is alto or mezzo-soprano. He may or may not have gone through puberty, so we’ll be judging this one on how sweet/cute the voice is! If you’re female, you have to convincingly sound like a prepubescent boy. He speaks in a gentle tone, and his singing should reflect that. Be able to get some good volume without it being overpowering.

Tenor, early teenager. Should be able to sing in a very fast-paced manner! High voice, probably squeaky at times. Be as cheesy as possible, we’re looking for an audition who makes us laugh! But definitely make the emotions genuine as well. If we can take your voice seriously in a more intense scene, that’s ideal.
