Darkstalker Comic Dub Part One
Project Overview
"Three dragons. One unavoidable, unpredictable destiny. This is the beginning... of the end. In the SeaWing kingdom, a young prince learns he is an animus -- capable of wonderful magic that comes with a terrible price. At last, here's the casting call for part one! Some of the lead roles are featured here, for those familiar with the project you might notice a few characters haven't been listed here. This is because I've casted them already but there's still plenty of roles that need voices.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Clear audio as much as possible please - this is a fan made project and does not have to be top quality studio level but having it as clear as possible with little to no background noised is strongly encouraged.
-Please include your discord in the notes of your audition. All project coordination line delivery etc will be done there.
-Deadline for submitting lines is usually within a month
Voice Actor
Teen male voice, lead role
The SeaWing’s newest animus dragon, although he’s hesitant to think of himself as anyone special. He’s easily flustered, hopeful, clever, thoughtful, indecisive, quiet and patient.
When a tragic incident among the SeaWings sews distrust among those with animus powers, he becomes afraid of his magic and feels a lot of internal anxiety, becoming distrustful of himself as well.

(defeated, doubting) “Why did I even let myself hope? What are the odds our tribe would have a second animus? Let alone the odds of it being a dragon like me.”
“I’ve been thinking about all the amazing things I can do…but could I hurt someone? (beat) I won’t. I’ll be careful and smart. Smarter than Grandfather.”
(pondering) “I mean, I don’t know if it’s a good idea. Right now, the palace is visible from overhead. What if we make an enchanted canopy? Out of plants so it won’t block the sunlight?”

Fathom’s older sister, one of the potential heirs for the SeaWing throne
Pearl is often blunt, exasperated by Fathom and his friend’s immature behavior. She might be a bit unfairly jealous at Fathom’s special treatment when he’s found to be an animus.

(shocked) “It was my brother. Fathom’s an animus!”
(hostile) “How am I supposed to trust you, Fathom? Whenever I look at you, I see everything he did. Won’t you always be tempted to use your magic? What would stop you? What could ever stop you?”
Voice Actor
Elderly male voice. Major role. British accent preferred but not required.
The first known SeaWing animus dragon in SeaWing history and a member of the royal family as Queen Lagoon’s brother. He is beloved respected and important in society and was at first kind mischievous, calm and friendly but firm when needed.
But animus magic has its cost, and the rage kept dormant inside him is starting to crack, leading to the most tragic event in SeaWing history.

“I’m not trying to scare you. But you must understand. You are dangerous. You must always be careful. Never use your magic unless I’m there to supervise. Consider every spell carefully for weeks. Run them all by me first.”
(hostile, angry) “Grandson…hiding like a nervous hermit crab. I should have expected that from a dragonet with such a limited imagination.”

This occurs during a flashback when Albatross’s animus power is discovered through an unfortunate accident, he’s really angry at his sisters teasing him.

Deeply kind, willful, serious, and often worried and hurried, Clearsight was often known to be the voice of reason towards both Darkstalker and Fathom. She was selfless and open-minded, willing to admit to her own faults as well as others’. Although Clearsight preferred compromise over confrontation, she was not afraid of conflict and would try her best to do the right thing, even in the face of danger or oppression.

(Pondering, worried) “What’s the point of seeing the future if you can’t fix it? But how can I find the right path? There are so many potential futures. Every possible life, everything that could happen…and the further ahead I look, the more confusing and random it gets…”
(Determined but frustrated) “If I concentrate harder, I can follow all the paths. I can figure this out.”
“Darkstalker, I’m so, so scared. The things I’ve seen in the future because of this, the things that happen to you, the things that you do and what you becomes…it’s all so dark, I almost can’t see the light anymore. I’m afraid we’re losing our bright paths…”
