DANGANRONPA: SONGBIRDS & RATTLESNAKES
What truly defines an Ultimate in the eyes of the talentless? What truly defines a good person in the minds of the flawed? What truly defines a songbird from the fangs of a rattlesnake or a sheep from the claws of a wolf?
Akataro Ueki, the Ultimate Photojournalist, has wondered all of these questions as he was finally accepted into Hope's Peak Academy along with his twin sister, Atsushi. However, he soon finds himself separated as he wakes up in a confusing funhouse-esque rendition of the prestigious academy alongside 15 other Ultimates like him.
Will Akataro be able to single-handedly solve his greatest mystery yet, or will he fall into the hands of this grand puzzle's puppetmaster? Only time can tell, and only hope can prevail...

DR:SAR is a fangan video series created by Angelstars, and is inspired by the amazing fangans that came before it, BUT it is still MASSIVELY in development and might take a while to be finished!

Please be able to meet deadlines! This is a long-term project, so commitment is required!

Since most communication is through discord, please make sure you are active on there AS WELL AS comfortable with engaging with the discord server!
While this isn't required by any means, we are hoping to get VAs that are at comfortable with singing, as well as VAs that are open to doing silly events with the Dev, as well as other VAs! Again, this isn't required, but it is appreciated! This is just for side, optional things like silly covers with the characters and nothing revolving around the main series itself!

OFFICIAL CHARACTER BIO: Akataro Ueki, the Ultimate Photojournalist, is the main character (and antagonist) of DR:SAR alongside Minami Enokizono. He is an overly egotistical, arrogant, and sharp-tongued aspiring detective who is (unfortunately) as good as he says he is. He is a realist at heart, being straightforward with his words and opinions rather than sugar-coating them, as he has a hatred for those with a little too much optimism for his liking. He doesn't take a lot of things too seriously unless he's backed into a corner, and he has a knack for pissing off the wrong people. He has a tendency to get defensive quickly, especially when it's revolving things about him.
VOICE REQUIREMENTS: His voice should be medium-deep and masculine, and should have a laid-back yet still loud and arrogant flair to it. Must be able to shout and/or project your voice to some capacity, and must be comfortable with occasional cursing. Must be able to be expressive with certain lines.

As the Ultimate Police Chief, she carries herself with an air of authority. However, beneath the rigid exterior lies a young woman who truly wants to be a good role model for those who look up to her, even if the attention can make her a little bashful. She keeps herself reserved and strict, often judging people based on a "guilty-until-proven-innocent" mentality, which results in her struggling to balance her moral ideals with the harsh realities of crime and punishment.
VOICE REQUIREMENTS: Her voice should be medium-deep tone and feminine, with a slight British accent. Abeni is calm yet stern, as she communicates her words directly yet compassionately (which should be reflected in her voice). His passion as the Ultimate Engineer is limitless, as he throws himself into every project with enthusiasm, even if it literally blows up in his face. Even with his confidence, he struggles with insecurities, particularly regarding his height or lack of skills in many other fields besides engineering and inventing. Despite his personal struggles, Daisuke has an unwavering love for his family, which he extends to those around him, always willing to help—even if his lack of seriousness can seem distasteful in the moment. At his core, Daisuke may not always get the gravity of a situation, but he tries his best, and that’s what matters.

Kirara ignited their passion for fashion by launching their own business while still in their high school years, eventually earning a place at Hope's Peak Academy for their skills. Despite their talent, they often prefer to follow rather than lead, experiencing anxiety when faced with leadership roles or tough decisions. Kirara navigates the colorless world around them while staying in their vibrant little social bubble, hoping to inspire others to paint the world.

Despite his blunt demeanor, there’s a quiet sincerity in the way he treats others, though he rarely accepts help himself (he's a "if you can't get it done right, just do it yourself" kinda guy). A walking encyclopedia of medical expertise and a habit of overanalyzing everything, Zento often feels more like an instrument of healing than a person deserving of it. Still, beneath his ice-cold surface, he hopes that someone might see past the facts and formulas, and actually notice him.

Raised in the military from a young age, she quickly adapted from her initially clumsy nature to become a skilled and valued solider, quickly earning the nickname "Gunpowder" from her peers. While she is full of confidence and vitality, she still has her moments of bashfulness and clumsiness when challenged or proven wrong by others, especially when revolving around weapons and similar devices. Although her cute appearance and lighthearted personality may be deceiving, she’s definitely not someone you'd want to make angry, unless you want to be at the end of her explosives—she IS quite trigger-happy after all...

OFFICIAL CHARACTER BIO: As Akataro's slightly nicer (yet less serious) twin sister, Atsushi was known as a prodigy from a young age, her IQ exceeding those around her age, even her own brother's. She is sarcastic and sharp-tongued, but in a more subtle way compared to Akataro, and her curiosity extends to everything from her talent to the natural mysteries of the world. With the dream of attending Hope's Peak alongside Akataro, her sudden disappearance the same day the two were planning to attend sparks up questions and worries from her brother and his peers.
VOICE REQUIREMENTS: Her voice should be medium-high and feminine, and should share the same laid-back energy as her brother (except slightly more energetic). She is less obviously sarcastic than her brother and communicates her teasing through subtle tones and word-plays rather than obvious insults (and her voice should replicate this). Must be able to project your voice in some capacity, and must be expressive with certain lines.
(since she is not in the voice claim video, i would say her voice would be most similar to a less monotone Serena from MTV downtown)

For this role, we need someone who is able to come up with theme songs for each of the characters, general soundtracks (including trial soundtracks), rhythmic resistance themes, and execution tracks (alongside more when needed).
Since every track will have a different vibe and sound to them, we can't quite give any specific examples (information needed for the creation of the tracks will be given when they are needed). However, many of the rhythmic resistance themes are inspired by popular video game soundtracks such as No Straight Roads, Bayonetta, and many of the like. In addition, the execution and general/trial tracks are inspired by the classic DR executions.
We are open to both experienced and amateur musicians! Please make sure to provide examples of your work :)
