Disclaimer for those who know of Fragmented Hope - Never fear, Fragmented Hope is far from dead! I do plan to run and write both, and it should be of minimal burden for me.

A quick description of this project:
Hope's Peak is a place that everyone knows worldwide. The best of the best high schoolers are scouted by the best talent scouts in the nation to seek out kids with extraordinary talents that go far beyond anyone else. These scouted kids are called "Ultimates" by the academy and thus the world. This story is that of one Mirai Miyazaki, the Ultimate Watch Maker, and her events on a cruise ship bound for naught but the river sytx. Her and 15 other students awaken on this boat with no memory of how they got there or who each other are. As it stands, that's the least of their problems, as Danganronpa: Shattered Hope begins. Love and hate, trust and distrust, life and death. Tag along for the trip of your life (no pun intended) with the 16 Ultimates as they fight for their very survival against each other.
What is this project, anyways?
This project is a non-profit Danganronpa spin off. The death order has already been mapped out, and script is on it's way. I can't wait to have you along!
Will you be casting before the deadline?
No way! You have until July 16th to send in your auditions, on that day at 11:30 pm EST I will be casting.
You don't have any pictures of your characters!
Unfortunately, you are right. Designs have been finalized, but I have 0 artistic talent to push my thoughts to paper. If people desire, I can update each role individually with their designs described, but I won't for the pure fact that it could detract from the finding of voices... somehow. I almost never look at the description beyond the voice and personality, so shrug.
How long would I have to turn in voice lines after being casted for a character?
With each produced script, I would want lines sent in within 2 weeks after the script's release to you all unless in unforeseen complications, in which case I have no problem waiting.
How would you be splitting up uploads?
A full script will include Daily life, Deadly life, and the trial. Depending on how long the video itself is, each section may be cut into, most likely separating daily life from deadly life and the trial.
How many characters can I audition for?
As many as your heart desires!

Character Description:
Mirai is the only child of a local watch making monopoly from a local village. The family's business has been amazing in the area for 4 generations, being handed down from father to son. Mirai, though, was her father's only child before his death due to lung cancer. To keep the legacy going, Mirai donned a male persona which eventually took over., sometimes she's so wrapped up in her persona that she forget's that she's actually a girl. It also made sense for a sensible young man to be bringing his girlfriend home every so often, as well, right? Though it's not like that would happen, as Mirai was picked up by Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Watch Maker.
Voice Description:
Mirai should sound like a deeper voiced female while she's in her male persona, like she is attempting to hide her normal voice. However, her normal voice should sound medium ranged when she is herself. This contrast doesn't have to be too stark, but it should be noticeable.
(Friendly, normal voice) I guess I should introduce myself, huh? My name is Mirai Miyazaki, my mother would always say alliteration in names is key to being remembered. Oh, and my talent is Ultimate Watch Maker, as my name might suggest.
(Fake voice, questioning) Wait, you're an Ultimate too? We can't be in school, the rocking is evident enough.
(Defeated, Normal Voice) I think I understand. It's definitely you, isn't it.
(You all know it, normal voice) No that's wrong!
Character Description:
Reina Suzumiya has been deaf since birth. Well how can a deaf person direct? That's a good question - Reina directs silent films. In just 3 movies, she's made a cult resurrection of the silent film genre. At first, many people didn't know the Reina was deaf and they thought that the movies being silent was there for effect, but that wasn't the case. As Reina went to accept her first award, it acted as her also showing the world of her disability. Shortly after her second film, Reina was scouted by Hope's Peak, and released a third film before attending the school.
Voice Description:
Reina should have a soft, medium level voice, but there should be hints of struggling in the voice due to her being deaf. I think it's fine if you say everything normally, since it would be hard to mimic someone deaf. As I have it now, some even comment on how well she is able to speak despite her not being able to hear.
Note: There's very little here as she doesn't speak much, but signs to another character who relays the message.
(Softly, introduction) My name is Reina Suzumiya, the Ultimate Director.
(Shocked, scared) You have to be kidding, right?
(Tsundere-like) But that's not fair!
Character Description:
Seishin was orphaned as a baby, but was taken in by a crime family before a few days. In the Todoroki family, Seishin learned the art of crime, from murder to bank heists, and even paying off the police, He combined everything he learned and began to work to truly feel worthy of his position as son to the boss. He donned a Ninja act to stop thoughts of him being linked to the Todoroki family in the event he was caught. Seishin performed a couple of low level crimes before moving up to a political assassination of a politician attempting to crack down on organized crime. Unluckily for the police, Hope's Peak got a hold of him and helped clean up the mess before recruiting him as the Ultimate Ninja.
Voice Description:
Seishin should have a medium low to low pitch. That's about all I've got nothing else really special with him other than try to sound like you are edgy but really aren't.
(Serious, but calm) Hello. My name is Seishin Todoroki, Hope's Peak has deemed me the Ultimate Ninja. From nobodies to major politicians, I can assassinate them without fail.
(Annoyed) I'm no lowly hitman, I am one of the most notorious assassins in all of Japan. You should watch your tongue.
(Shocked) You simply accuse me because I have taken a life before? How a- appalling...
Character Description:
Shinya was ever the sci-fi type of person, and that transferred into his daily life. He was also born without a right arm. At age 10, Shinya was able to manufacture a robotic arm that was able to use the tightening of muscle in the upper arm. This only ever continued as he began to make robotic prosthetic for army veterans or people like himself. Shinya didn't stop at prosthetics though, he eventually moved into an ethically gray area with his development of brain chips that heightened the senses of a person. Those in the scientific community took notice and debated about whether he should be stopped or allowed to continue, but at this time he had already been scouted by Hope's Peak, so he wouldn't be stopped for at least another 4 years.
Voice Description:
Shinya should have a medium to medium-low pitch and should sound slightly gruff.
(Confident, friendly) Sup, I'm Shinya Nishida, the Ultimate Cybernetics Engineer! I basically work with cyborgs!
(Supportive, strong) Listen, it isn't the cat that makes the lion, it's the ferocity which makes the lion! So cheer up, okay, you've got this!
(Excited) Hey, wanna help me out? I promise I won't turn you into a cyborg, that's nonsense. You'd have to pay me first.
Character Description:
From a young age, Keima admired medieval weaponry, and so did his brother. In one school play, Keima had to play the role of a Centurion and fell in love with the role so much that he exclusively used that persona from then on. This only recently started slipping, as many plays and tv shows don't require a centurion, and not one so young either. However, Keima kept searching, and on the side he would go to conventions to show off his armor and gladious. Eventually, at one such con, a Hope's Peak scouter spotted him among the crowd, and Keima put on a show for the man. This was more than enough to convince the scouter of his prowess, and he was originally scouted as the Ultimate Roman Impersonator. Through clever talks with the scouter, though, Keima had his title changed to the Ultimate Centurion.
Character Voice:
When in his persona, Keima will always act like he owns the place, so his voice should be Medium-low to low pitch and be loud in his persona, but in his normal voice he should have a medium to medium-low pitch.
(Confident, with pride) My name is Keima Kuruno, I fight for what's right as the Ultimate Centurion.
(Angered, then cooled down) So what if I'm not a roman, if I play the part well, what's the point in arguing? Seriously, it's thinking like that which will land you on some watch list.
(Enthused) You like it? I had it hand made by my brother, the Ultimate Blacksmith. It's outdated, sure, but you can't argue it's one of the coolest pieces of weaponry out there.
Character Description:
Mizore's father was a major gear head with a deep pocket, and hispassion was semi-inflicted onto Mizore. It wasn't making cars for Mizore, though, it was driving them. One night, Mizore begun to teach herself driving on the big plot of land that her parents owned. Eventually, she grew tired of 10 miles an hour, then 20, followed shortly by 60 and 80, Mizore just wanted to go as fast as possible. One night while she was out, her father saw what she was doing, and not only was he impressed, he wanted to see how far she would go. Her father put her to the test in a car she'd never seen before, one so sleek and fast that it could hit speeds that she thought were legends. She fell in love. Mizore and her father began to participate in illegal drag races, and then illegally signing up for professional drag races. Hope's Peak caught on, and she was scouted.
Voice Description:
Mizore should have a medium, high energy voice for reference think Aoi or Akane, more accurately a mix between them.
(Excited, friendly) Heya, my name is Mizore Jinnai~ I'm the Ultimate Drag Racer! I'm super hyped to be friends with you!
(Annoyed, then excited) Maaaaaan, isn't there anything to eat around here? I'm starved! I could really go for some pie right about now!
(Pumped) Yeah! You gotta keep moving or else you just get lazy, and lazy doesn't cut it on the road!
Character Description:
Yuuta is son of a captain in the Japanese military, and as such, he was expected to be a military man himself. This however, wasn't exactly the case, as his asthma kept him out of the family business. However, Yuuta found a passion in guns and how they were made. Yuuta eventually drew up 3 different weapon concepts and they were shown to the Japanese military, which bought all 3 and already have begun production. Though Yuuta wasn't much of a runner or a fighter, he still found himself working out and he worked like the devil.
Voice Description:
As the buff boi of the game, Yuuta should have a low, deep voice a la Nekomaru. Don't be as energetic as Nekomaru since Yuuta should have relatively standard energy, unlike Nekumaru, but you should be able to use his voice as a reference.
(Gruff, but friendly) Hello there, my name is Yuuta Ozoki, I am the Ultimate Weapons Engineer, and you are?
(Terrified, then slightly angered) What? I can't do anything like that! Killing people is wrong unless you have perfectly good reason! This clearly isn't a perfectly good reason!
(Amazed) That's one damn good looking sword, where'd you get it anyways?... Woah, your brother is *the* Ryuuji Kuruno?! Can I meet him after we get out of here, that'd be a dream come true!
Character Description:
Mei and her brother were both orphaned when their parents died in a bank robbery, Her brother found them a place to stay in a local library, where he read a book on the occult and how they were majorly influential in their communities. He figured that they should make a cult so they could afford to live, but he lacked the charisma to run a cult. He gave her the reigns, and he would run from behind the scenes. Starting with a couple of strangers, Mei used her younger sister anime personality to lure in people then she would indoctrinate them. At first it is almost nothing that they had to do, but soon she had them eating out of the palm of her hand. Their cult reached members in the hundreds of thousands in Tokyo alone. A scouter was indoctrinated and invited the duo to Hope's Peak as the Ultimate Cult Leader and Ultimate Co-Cult Leader.
Voice Description:
Mei should have a high pitched, child sounding voice likewise she is a very childish character and fills the loli/shota character of the game.
(Excited, friendly) Hiya, I'm Mei Shimizu, and I run a little cult with my big brother, would you like to be the newest member?
(Childish crying) But you promised! You big meanie!
(Thinking out loud) I wonder how big brother is doing, I hope he's alright... He's never been able to function properly without me by his side.
Character Description:
A TV obsessed young girl with a single dream, to be an actress, or at least go into something with the TV. And that she did, she schmoozed her way into a TV company's showrunner's office, the person that decides what's going to be on next for the next week or so. Hikari started messing around with everything in the office, but the producers allowed it, and it was oddly well received, which prompted them to bring her back. This continued for a while until she worked side by side with the other showrunner. While poking around the TV industry, a scouter saw what Hikari had been doing and scouted her as the Ultimate Showrunner.
Voice Description:
Hikari should have a medium pitched voice and should sound like a female Dexter from the show of the same name.
(very polite and happy) Hey, I'm Hikari Ito, the Ultimate Showrunner. Who are you?
(Enjoying herself) You all are a lot more interesting than anybody else I hang out with. *light laughter*
(oddly analytical) You should probably make an attempt to locate the exact point of impact by using the blood in the room. It's something I picked up from crime shows.
Character Description:
Nao Yamamoto has always been fascinated by the graffiti on bridges in her home city of Tokyo. It was so enthralling to see the talented artists leaving their marks on the world. Her parents were strict, and were not happy with her enthusiasm, and whenever she would stay out so much as 5 minutes late, she would be beaten by the both of them. They wanted a perfect student, not a ruffian. Unfortunately, Nao couldn't shake her passion for graffiti and eventually considered the beatings and the effects as just necessary for her to live her passion. A scout was able to tail her and recruit her to Hope's Peak, much to her parents dismay. Her parent's didn't want that horrible title on their good name, but Nao went anyway, with all of her problems still with her.
Voice Description:
Nao should have a medium pitched, heavy city life accent. Other than that, she should be able to swap between really excited to very much in pain quickly.
(Excited) Hows'it going, name's Nao Yamamoto, if you live in Tokyo, I guarantee you already know my work. I'm the Ultimate Graffiti Artist.
(Passive, not taking a compliment) It's not that impressive, all I do is freestyle the art, so it's nothing professional at all. Come on, have you seen what some others can do, I'm just another wannabe compared to them!
(In pain) M- My head hurts, that's all, okay? It's nothin' trust me.
Character Description:
Kimihito isn't a nice guy. He gets this from his father, who was never nice to anyone below him, and Kimihito believes everyone is below him and that he's untouchable. Kimihito enjoyed blades since his mother showed him a family heirloom knife which was so pretty to him. He started training in modern knife and hand to hand combat for potential military life, but he decided to fight in competitions instead. It wasn't very hard for him, and he never lost besides once, prompting Hope's Peak to offer him the title of Ultimate Knife Fighter.
Voice Description:
Kimihito is not a nice guy, and should sound like an asshole, with a medium-low to low unenergetic voice.
(Serious, bored) Huh, oh great, there's more of you. Whatever, my name is Kimihito Fujimori, I'm the Ultimate Knife Fighter. Now leave.
(Sarcastic) What a horrible loss of life. Boohoo, nobody gives a damn.
(Slightly amused, then mocking) Prime suspect? I guess that's fair enough, but how are you going to prove it, wave your hands at me some more?
Character Description:
Akuto's parents were quality dog breeders, and he was tasked with training the puppies so that they would be nice to the store owners and workers after new regulations were placed. Akuto found this very fun, though, and as it turns out, he was better at it than both of his parents and his sister. On one day when he was giving the puppies to a local pet store, a scouter noticed how well behaved they were for being so young. After some chatting, Akuto proved just how well he had trained every puppy in the store and the scouter was extremely impressed. He scouted Akuto as the Ultimate Dog Trainer.
Voice Description:
Akuto should have an energetic medium to medium-high pitch and should be able to scream at least a little.
(Energetic) Sit! Stay! My name is Akuto Hano, and I'm the Ultimate Dog Trainer!
(Scared, mad) You can't be s- serious! This isn't some kind of twisted TV show! Real people's lives are on the line!
(Excited, spoken very fast) Oh you own a dog? What breed! Is it cute? How old is it?
Character Description:
Yukikaze was always terrified of the ocean after almost drowning when she was 5 years old, despite living right next to the ocean. When she was 10 her neighbor's house caught fire out of seemingly nowhere, and Yukikaze wanted to help as much as she could. She gathered buckets of water and poured it on the house as much as she could, and didn't relent even after firefighters got to the scene. For this, she was invited to the station and begun hanging out there a lot. At 12, she already had her own locker and a tailor-made suit to fit just her. While she only ever charged in to a scene once, she was still scouted for her efforts of putting out a scouter's house after an attempted arson.
Voice Description:
Yukikaze should have a low pitched voice almost Kirumi like or how most see Yuri from DDLC.
(Calm, friendly) Hello, my name is Yukikaze Momozono, and I am a firefighter.
(Distraught) I- I can't be on the water... I'm terrified of the Ocean!
(Calm, but happy) I do appreciate the concern, but it isn't like I could get off now, right? I'll just have to get over my fear one way or another.
Character Description:
Sakamachi was born to a Japanese-Canadian father, who moved to Japan for work related reasons, and a Japanese mother. He's been teased about his heritage, so he's begun to hide it from others. Sakamachi lived in the woods with his mother and father, and occasionally had to do some wood chopping for building fires in the summer, but this escalated as he got older to the point where his father set up a small company to support his son's work and make some extra living money with it. It was through this company that Sakamachi was scouted.
Voice Description:
Sakamachi should have a medium to medium low pitched voice and should be able to convey anger well.
(Happy) What's up, I'm Sakamachi Shiraume, Ultimate Lumberjack! I know I don't look like much of one, but you'd be surprised what a little muscle can do.
(Angry, less so last sentence) No! I'm no Canadian! I'm flesh and blood Japanese just like you! Geez, that's so rude of you.
(Sympathetic) It's going to be alright, if nobody else, you've got me. That's what friends are for, okay?
Character Description:
Ryouko keeps to herself often, choosing not to reveal much about herself. What everyone does know, is that her father is a high ranking government official, and her mother was killed by a masked gunman. Since there wasn't anyone to watch over Ryouko, her father had to take her to work often, There she was put to as much work as she wanted to do, which was often as much as she could do. They also know she enjoys her job, but they have no idea what it is, exactly.
Voice Description:
Ryouko should have a monotone, medium to medium-low pitched voice.
(Uninterested) Oh, uh, Ryouko Mutou, I guess. I work for the Government.
(Annoyed) I told you, I don't feel like disclosing that information, you could use my position against me.
(Snarky, sarcastic) If you could stop being so lovey dovey for 10 seconds, we have a body to investigate.
Character Description:
Shiro Nakamura is daughter to a famous model, so she was forced into modeling as a kid. Luckily, she really enjoyed herself and went along with whatever her mother had booked for that day. She was happy to be showing off the new fashion. She became a celebrity not too long after, where she went from modeling every-day kids clothing, to more fancy clothing, though still for teenagers. When she was scouted by Hope's Peak it came as a shock to nobody, but everyone was still very happy about it. Before going to her first day of school, her entire extended family took part in a big party in her family's mansion.
Voice Description:
Shiro should be super bubbly and energetic with a medium to medium-high pitched voice.
(bubbly, happy) Hey hey, my name is Shiro Nakamura, you might know me from my modeling career.
(Shocked) A- A killing game, but there's no way any of us would kill each other, right?
(happy) Because, silly, I like you. I think you're a great friend! I'd hang out with you no matter what!
I don't think the despair inducing bear needs a description, does he?
(Angered) I'm not a dog, I'm a bear damn it! I'm also your headmaster, so you better get knock that off!
(Content, then excited) All I want is your despair, plain and simple despair. I don't care how it happens or who it to!
(Y'all know the tone) A body has been discovered! Everyone has until my next announcement to gather as much evidence as they can before the ever exciting class trial will begin!
