SIDE CHARACTERS FOR CHAPTER 2 AND BEYOND
We are well into DR:DH2 already, with the Prologue having released last month and Chapter 1 aiming to air late May to early June. So, now comes the time to get VAs for the important side characters needed in Chapter 2 and beyond. Most below characters appear in Ch2, with Mystery K appearing first in Ch3, but all characters appear again in subsequent chapters.
What format does DR:DH2 take?
DR:DH2 is a visual novel video series on YouTube in an episodic form. Each chapter consists of 10 episodes each between 14-20 minutes a piece, with 6 chapters in total, plus a Prologue. Upon the beginning of a chapter's airing, episodes are released 2 times a week both on Tuesdays and Fridays in a live premiere.
What Can You Expect From Us?
Regarding the output and speed of progress on this project, chapters usually take 2-3 months to develop, so if you are cast you can expect one script per chapter that you are in. Line submission periods range from 1-2 months long.
Ch2 side characters will receive scripts within days of being cast, with Mystery K receiving a script a bit later upon Ch2's completion. (est. Late Summer).
Auditioning and What We Are Looking For
All of the artwork, writing, and editing is done by the sole developer of the project. However, voice actors are still required for the voices of the eccentric cast of characters. This casting call consists of 5 important side characters, all of which being essential to the DR:DH2 plot. Roles will have dedicated information giving you descriptions of each character's personality, role in the story, and voice range. Keep in mind the voice range specifications will not be strict; flexibility and creativity are encouraged. We want you to have fun with the characters. You also do not have to have seen the first fangan or this one so far to audition, but it is recommended.
Voice Actor RULES
We do request that you meet a few requirements in order to be eligible to be cast for this project:
Be able to meet deadlines. Do not audition if you feel as though you will be unable to meet deadlines ranging from 1-2 months. Excessive extensions and missed deadlines can lead to frustration so we would rather avoid situations like that.
Please be age 16 or over. Danganronpa itself is rated 16, so it would be unwise to cast anyone below this age. The fangan deals with mature topics alike with the source material.
Be aware of your audio quality. We expect a certain level of audio quality in auditions, if your audio isn't intelligible or you have substantial background noise, unfortunately, your audition cannot be considered. We do not expect crystal clear by any means but please be mindful.
File types are not restrictive. We do not mind which file type your auditions are submitted as, though MP3, WAV, or M4A are preferred.
Multiple takes are not mandatory. Feel free to do as many takes of each line as you like, or only one, as long as you do every line it is not essential that you do multiple versions.
Ensure you are an active Discord user. Staff operations and communications are done exclusively through Discord. This means you will need to add your Discord username to your audition notes and also ensure you check it somewhat frequently so you do not miss any lines or important notices.

Yoji Yonasa - known as "Yoyo" to her peers, is a huge fan of an anarchist group from thirty years ago. Her obsession with these terrorists has leaked into her personality, and her goal to form a group of her own that mirrors the original. Yoyo believes in revenge and retribution, but sometimes blindly follows her significant other into whatever they want over her own desires.
Yoyo knows what she wants and how to get it, but is easily persuaded and led on by the one she holds closest - for better or for worse. She was a theatre kid and still keeps some of her melodramatic attributes in how she speaks and acts, often being cocky and teasing. She should have a high-mid tone voice and sound almost as if she's trying to sound posher than she actually is.
(Explanatory, cocky) "They're demons aren't they? And we're demon hunters. They cause global chaos and you have to take it - it's a shitty rule, but I didn't make it."
(Teasing, melodramatic) "Aww, Tekkie... Jealous he gets to put his hands all over me? Being this adorbs isn't always a good thing, y'know. Cute girls go through terrible things, kyahaha!"
Tekkie Kuranue - known as "Tek" to his peers, is an avid cosplayer and fan of the video game "Polynauts". He spends most of his time with a childhood best friend, following her into whatever messes she gets into. His naiveite and blind love for his friend can sometimes lead Tek to making bad decisions.
Tek is less confident in himself than he is confident in his best friend, his loyalty sees no bounds even if he's not treated with the same respect and kindness. His voice should echo these sentiments, leaning more into the uncertainty of his own actions, while putting full trust into someone else to guide him. He should have a high-mid range voice.
(Reassuring, but subtly reassuring himself) "Tek is the support in the game so, I'll be your support, Yo. I may be a third wheel on our lil' squad tricycle but that's how it is in the game, too!"
(Pissed off, defensive) "You pig-brained piece of shit! You saw what they did to Delta, and now your sorry ass is only thinking of how to save your own bacon??"
Cece Ryomitai - known as "Rio" to her peers, is a young and upcoming tattoo artist who used to perform in a school idol group. She recently lost someone especially close to her, and since then has taken it upon herself to seek revenge against the organisation that led to not only her friend's death, but many more.
Rio knows exactly what she wants in life, while she has a gung-ho attitude, she can often falter when it comes to thinking about the people she holds dear. THIS IS A RECAST, so voice-wise you may try to replicate the original VA from DH1, however this is not necessary and new takes on the character are welcome. She should have a mid-low range and an air of confidence and sensibility.
(Vengeful) "At first I figured it wasn't their fault. But, you think of that domino effect and, yeah, it IS their fault. So, they deserve to die, right?"
(Fumbling, reconsidering things) "Naomi is here? Wh-what are you saying?? Tek and Yoji said everyone here knew and were saving themselves- SUMI, WHAT AM I EVEN DOING?!"
K. Gonagara is the Ultimate Boy Scout. He's known for his yearlong expeditions in the great outdoors and accumulation of every single badge available to him in the scouting curriculum. While he was accepted into an Ultimate class, Gonagara has yet to appear alongside his fellow classmates. Did something happen to him?
Gonagara is a somewhat nerdy boy, finding more enjoyment in his passions and acquisition of various skills than endeavours in making friends. Though he could happily sit for hours discussing his next adventure he prefers to let other people do the talking in difficult situations.. He should have a mid-tone voice with an optional lisp.
(Please be able to scream).
(Confident, reassuring) "Whatever happens to us, I promise that I will do my best, uphold my values, help any one of you in need, and to keep my Scout law."
(Frantic, panicking) "Tomochi- My zip.. it's- it's broken! The one day I don't bring my emergency sewing kit! Deep breaths- you didn't earn the chief gold award for nothing."
Mystery K is an extremely important character - however I cannot go too into detail due to heavy spoilers. Being introduced in Chapter 3, this character reappears in every subsequent chapter, and has a major role to play in Chapter 6.
They are slightly antagonistic, a happy-go-lucky attitude but remaining somewhat done with life as a whole.
Voice wise, they are a high-pitched female, with a hint of a sadistic nature, think Monaca Towa, for example.
(Singsong, bouncy, slightly delusional) "Annual grocery list- junk food allll the way, hehe. I can go another year without icky fruits and veg. If nobody else cares about me, why would I care about myself either!"
(Teasing, uninterested) "Oh, so you want my golden brain, right? I know, I know everything! But... who are you to say hope and despair? You're disgusting, you know that Uncle?"
