Original D&D Audio Flashback Scene

Original D&D Audio Flashback Scene

Project Overview

This is a very short term project, but I'm looking for seven voice actors to play the role of the seven heroes in my d&d homebrew world, who are going to appear in a flashback scene in the next few sessions. I intended to do this sooner, but I didn't get the chance because my internet was down! Each of the seven characters fits a pretty defined trope, so take a look and see if one fits you! While this is initially only for use in-session, I will be sharing it online to my 33,000+ followers on YouTube, (CammieMile) and potentially making an animatic later on, once my players have actually seen the visual for all of these past heroes.

Those chosen will likely be asked back for further audio projects in the future.

Julius Brondello

Accent is nonspecific (IE Hollywood Accent)

An older Aaragon-esque man. Speaks in a very clear, deliberate, and confident voice that demands respect.
He generally comes across as refined and well-spoken, unless Martell gets under his skin.
Very much the leader of his group. Paladin-esque in nature.

Julius Brondello, a great king; leader, and hero. They say he travelled with his group of companions and saved this world from ruin many years ago. He led this band of heroes throughout all of Ulara, to certain victory; banishing and sealing the great darkness away.
Once they were done, and the world was safe, the party broke up, and each hero went to live out the rest of their days in the far reaches of this new world, now broken up into pieces.

Julius moved back to his small village under the mountains in the center of Dionas, only to find it in ruins, attacked by bandits. Brokenhearted, he used the power, influence and money to rebuild; creating a city in time: Named for his mother’s Maiden name, Brondello.

  • These aren’t children, they’re humans. They have a right to learn; not simply be coddled by powers they don’t understand.

  • Nobody is suggesting that. We simply need to find out why there are so many of them, and why they’re being so aggressive lately. *pause* hmm...

  •  Very well. We’ll move in the morning. Let’s setup camp.

The party healer, soft spoken and feminine. She speaks in a kind, gentle voice. Ever cautious of her word's impact, and always thoughtful before she speaks.
her voice is high-range.

A Celestial gifted with great divine powers. She was able to summon wings and support her friends with her magic, always the peace and calm of the party. She is depicted in flowing white gowns with long, blonde hair. It is rumoured she lived in Lormount somewhere, among the mountains.

  • So, what do you think, Julius? The people here are using their magic for good. To protect themselves.

  • Izim, you’re from these lands, what do you think?

  • I am merely worried for the safety of the denizens.... without magic, they will be left completely defenceless.

Accent is nonspecific (IE Hollywood Accent)

In actuality, a Vampire. Very aloof and fun-loving, the only one who can get under Julius' skin.
Quick-witted, and unendingly clever. Has a very Casual, sarcastic voice, like you can never tell if he's being serious or not. Mid-range.

A gorgeous, and well-loved elven figure, Martell is always depicted in lively and animated poses. Perhaps as the life of the party. Often the only one seen with a smile, they’re adorned in fancy clothes with flowing white hair. According to legends, the Sabientel name was once a family of nobles, though it apparently died along with him.

  •  I like what you’re saying, Dia, really; but just because they intend to use it for a good purpose, doesn’t mean it isn’t being abused.

  • Which we’ve been led to believe is lacking. (Lacking in italics. emphasised. He's making a joke here.)

  • *laughs* well, I guess you’re not wrong, buddy. If the number of snakes I’ve seen since we got here is anything to go by, then I think there’s plenty of life to preserve. But we should move on, I think I’m starting to get a slight sunburn. (Slight emphasis on sunburn, he's making a joke because he's a vampire- but the others don't know that.)

in actuality a demon. They don't technically have a gender, but tend to come across as more feminine.
Voice in the female mid-low range. Speaks with a voice full of sarcasm, and a little dead-pan humour.
has a quality of voice that almost makes you think... "Snake."

Volgan is depicted in artwork as a beautiful human or half-elven woman. She was, according to what few pages of Julius’ diary made it through history, a cunning and sharp-tongued woman, with incredible wit. She was able to get that which she needed with relative ease, and Julius admits to having fallen for her charms more than once, to his detriment.

  • As much as I loathe to agree with Martell, he’s right. The people here don’t know what they’re messing with. If you saw a child playing with a knife, you’d take it away, right?

  • They’re all the same to me. (stated as fact. aware that the statement will be taken as offensive, but does not care.)

  • So what, we kill all the monsters in the entire desert? That sounds practical. ('All' and 'entire' are italicised. rife with sarcasm.)

Izim

Accent is important for this one character!! I have not settled entirely on accent, but my preference is South African, with a possibility for something like Jamaican working.

Izim is a genie, though the party is not aware. He is loud and proud, and more often than not in a good mood- though in this current scenario he is more cautious, as the party discusses a threat in his homeland.
Voice is mid-low range male.

Izim was a large, rotund, and jolly man. He seemed to be a powerful magician, as he is often depicted with swirls and sparks of magic shooting from his fingertips; but never with any tomes- and as such it is theorised by historians that he was a sorcerer of some sort. It’s widely known that he came from the desert region, Wichit.

  • Something has stirred the creatures in the desert. The amount of activity is… unnatural. The humans are using too much arcana, but to take it away will simply leave them open to the desert’s mercy.

  • Yes, if we can help the humans, they will surely help us.

  • And once we are done, we can return for a feast! I will cook, of course!

Accent is non-descriptive (Hollywood accent)

Actually a forest spirit, the closest in example being a treent. Like Treebeard? but doesn't speak quite so slowly. Does speak simply, though, and in short sentences.
Very low-range male.

A reclusive and mysterious druid, who very little is known about. Depicted in murals as a large humanoid figure with a long beard. Assumedly, they went back to the woods to live out the rest of their days, after peace was restored.

  • Perhaps we can help. Not with the magic, but with the threat.

  • Desert will not fall. It holds much life, despite appearances.

  • All arcana is sacred. The humans use too much, and leave none for those who need it most.

Accent is non-descriptive (Hollywood accent)

Actually an Aquatic Elf, but her race has been lost over time.
Soft-spoken and young sounding. The character I referenced most in her design is Mipha from Breath of the Wild. She wishes the best for those around her, and normally prefers to listen than talk, but when she speaks, she makes every word count.

Milia is always depicted as a small, quiet girl, with a very pale complexion. Perhaps a halfling. According to Julius’ diaries, she seemed to be soft-spoken and quiet most of the time, but a sweet and caring person. She apparently originated from the villages in southern Dionas, but it’s unknown if she returned there after they were done, as there are no records of her after peace was restored whatsoever.

  • Yes, if we remove the threat, then there won’t be any need for the humans to continue using all the arcana.

  • And if they’re no longer in danger, they may listen to us. We can’t let them do to the desert what’s been done elsewhere, otherwise things will only get worse.

  • *light laugh* I will look forward to it, then.
