D&D Animatic Youtube Series (Tall Tavern Tales) Additional roles
Project Overview
Greetings lovers of D&D and other story wonders,
Have you ever been part of a roleplay experience that was so awesome, glorious, funny, and emotional that you thought: ''This should be animated!''. Well, we have.
Presenting our newest project: Tall Tavern Tales (a Youtube D&D Animatic Series!)
We have gathered a crew of talented people for animation, editing, writing, directing, etc. All we need is you, voice actors!
What we are looking for:
- Passion. People who want to be part of an epic character-driven story.
- Commitment. This will be a long-term project. At least a year. And should we choose to make a 2nd season, we would love to have you reprise your role.
- Teamwork. You will be working with a voice director who will guide you through each scene. We need you to be able to bring our vision to life.
- Creativity. Though we have a script for you to follow, we also create on the spot. Improv is welcome!
- Humor. Though this project will tell a serious and epic story. There will be a lot of jokes. We would like for you to be able to deliver those.
- Joy. We do this for the love of creating something amazing. Be fun to work with. And enjoy the journey with us!
Audition rules:
Some of you may recognize these roles from the large pool of roles we auditioned for last time. If you have already auditioned for these roles, feel free to audition again!
You can audition for each character with 1 file. Record all lines in 1 audio track (per character). You are allowed (and encouraged) to record up to 2 variations of each line. We want to see your range. MAKE SURE THE 2 TAKES DON'T SOUND THE SAME.
Have fun with it! We are VERY passionate, and we want to see that in our actors as well.
Make sure your recording is clear with no background noise. We assume the quality of your audition sound will be the same quality you can give us if we work with you.
Check the audition volume. We get a lot of very quiet auditions. Pump that volume up! :D

Nandipha is the high priestess of the temple. She has a big heart and deep compassion for people. She is kind of like the city's (grand)mother. Full of wisdom and knowledge, she both helps and reprimands our heroes when needed.
For this character, we need a warm, old-sounding, softspoken grandmotherly voice. We seek an African accent. Something close to the Wakandan accent from Black Panther.
(Calm, soothing)
I have walked this world for many years child. I have never met a creature that was out of redemption's reach

My dear, BE the change you want to see! People need an example. You can try to teach what you know, but ultimately you are going to reproduce what you are.
(reprimanding)
Sheathe your weapon BOY! This temple is a place of peace and safety. Each creature that enters alive and well, will leave this place alive and well. Am I understood?!

Kerato is a LARGE minotaur. He is ''the muscle'' for Tychus, ready to split any skulls or break any bones. Basically a big boy with a big axe.
For this character, we need a DEEP LOW voice. Feel free to play around with accents. We are not set on one right now.
(Calm and threatening)
The last time someone threw a rock at me, I made them eat that rock...literally.
(Excited by the thrill of battle...then Frustrated)
When I'm done with you, they won't be able to put what's left of you back together and... What do you mean go back?! I haven't crushed their skulls yet!
(Screaming in anger as he charges forward)
STOP IGNORING ME!!!

Tychus is the main bad guy. An evil human wizard. His time spent working with dark magic has literally sucked the life out of him. He believes what he does is right...but that does not make it so.
Looking for a middle to deep voice. a bit raspy. Needs to sound threatening but still human.
American or British accent was what we thought of initially. But if you feel like you have a better idea... Surprise us!
(scoffing laugh)
Aaah... I was wondering who they would send. Were there no more innocent people for you to sacrifice? Or does the great Marcus the kind finally fight his own battles!?
(as if speaking to a large crowd around him)
So it IS true! The man of mercy comes to finish what he started! What...was killing my teacher not enough for you? And poor Celeste...(voice breaks as he tries to hold back tears. Then speaks more softly) Was the death of my wife not enough for you?
(interrupts someone trying to explain himself)
...Oh don't you dare speak to me about fate. You lied to us. You promised purpose and life and you LIED TO US! (forces himself to calm down) But it matters not. You see...we no longer need your God anymore. We no longer need YOU anymore.
(quiet and sinister) See my old friend? We no longer need anyone anymore. We have everything we want.
