Crystal Zenith (Animated Pilot)
Project Overview
Crystal Zenith is an upcoming indie animation pilot, focused on a father and his two children suffering from the loss of their mother, all whilst magic returns to the continent and their mother's past slowly catches up to everyone....
This is show aimed at teens, a fantasy/drama series with a focus on character interactions and interesting plot beats.
Questions posed within the show include:
Who writes history?
Who can you trust?
Is there really such a thing as wholly "good" or "bad" people?
To promote the WIP pilot episode, I'll be working on a trailer, first and foremost, which I wish to hire voice actors for to fully bring it to life! Hopefully, anyone casted here will also be up for working on the full pilot episode once it enters production
Having a Discord account is MANDATORY, as it will be our main form of communication going forward!!

Lukas and Damien confide in Emily a lot after their mother's death, which has become a burden on her, as she's been forced to become the most responsible person in the household. She secretly resents this, and thinks that everything would be a lot simpler if Flora hadn't died. She's sassy, hot-headed, but also insecure. She hides her true emotions behind a certain stoicism.
- female teen
(pleading, sad) I don't understand, Dad. Why can't you just let me do this?
(serious) The entire magic of a continent presents itself in front of two teenagers whose mom just died - I think that means we should use the magic to bring her back.
(in realisation) It's just like in Dad's story…
After his mother died, Lukas heavily blamed himself for not doing more to help her. He tries to make up for this by making sure that nobody else will end up on the same path that Flora did. He's
kind and compassionate, but slightly meek, not really having the strength to stand up for himself. His family somewhat coddles him, which he gets frustrated by.
(nervous) We’re…the only people in the continent with magic.
(casual) Well, I think Dad is right. It's his past, and he doesn't owe us anything.
(smug) What did I JUST tell you?
Damien is the father of Lukas and Emily, who is just recently healing from the loss of his wife, who passed away around a month prior to the start of the story. He tries to be there for his kids to the best of his abilities, even despite being completely out of his element. He's loving, sincere, level-headed, and empathetic...but all of this is to hide that fact that inside, he's secretly miserable, still grieving the loss of his wife.
- male adult
(calm) Your mother and I…were very different people back then. Magic being gone hasn't been so bad - it gave us the chance to raise the both of you inside of a better environment.
(reassuring) Keep the change. You two deserve to treat yourselves now and again.
(crying) I-I'm sorry…
Flint is one of the main villains of Crystal Zenith - being a criminal on the run after causing a war that happened twelve years prior to the events of the story. He tends not to reveal much about his past unless necessary, leading him to be rather closed-off and secretive. He's calculating, but not entirely "evil" - he's complex, as he experiences regret and guilt like anybody else...but is able to put it aside for his one goal that he will stop at NOTHING to achieve - finishing what he started in the war...
(smug) Nothing would please me more than seeing the Asterian Empire crash and burn.
(annoyed) Remember who this is all for, Beryl…
(serious) Not to interrupt what I'm sure is a lovely moment, but what exactly are you doing here?
Floyd, for the last twelve years, has been searching for the man who murdered his brother, in a wish for justice (or vengeance, depending on who you ask). He has a one-track mind, but is also easily swayed by those he trusts, and blindly follows his loyalties. He's deeply troubled due to the things that happened to him during the war...a time where he was only a child.
(cautious) Is this a bad time…?
(slightly annoyed) Just because Flora did one good thing doesn't make her a saint. Do you even know what she put me through?
(serious) …for the last twelve years, I’ve been looking for an answer.
Donovan is the upbeat and boundary-unaware mentor of Lukas and Emily, who teaches them how to wield their magical powers. He's extremely passionate about his craft, and will endlessly yap about his interests if given the chance. Despite his outward naivety, he's more smarter than he lets on - being able to think several steps ahead of people, especially within fights. This skill helped him to become a very powerful magic user during the war 12 years ago.
(reassuring) Don't be so serious, Lukas. It's okay, I promise! All of that was a very long time ago.
(impressed) Ooh, very nice form. You're a natural.
(serious) I wasn't talking about Beryl, Lukas. I was talking about your father.
Grace is the assistant to Asteria's royalty, King Carlos. She's stern and no-nonsense, but hides a heart of gold when she's not swamped by work. She tries her best to live up to her mother's legacy, who she inherited her job from after she died.
(coldly) I see you got his majesty’s letter. Please follow me.
(snapping) That’s enough. You’re very lucky that the head of staff no longer holds the right to order executions.
(grateful) Glad to see you alive.
