Project Overview

Based off pieces of media such as John Carpenter’s “The Thing”, “Nope”, “The Mist”, “Return Of Obra Dinn”, and “Iron Lung”, CRYOGENIC CATACOMBS is a 16+ non-traditional killing game, that functions more so like Werewolf, Mafia, and Among Us. Yes, Among Us. Here in the arctic, you’ll have to rely on your personal strengths to survive. And the only person you’ll be able to trust in this cold, is yourself.

STORYLINE SYNOPSIS


C.A.T.S. [Collection of Antarctic Technologies and Sciences] is an organization specializing in the use and trade of arctic information. Its primary goal is to pave a way towards the future through using the Northern and Southern poles as valves for resources. Throughout the years, C.A.T.S. has been regarded as one of the most reliable sources of renewable energy, and has been heavily funded for its excellence in its pursuits. Nonetheless, it isn’t uncommon for the organization to accept researchers of all kinds, even with the triviality of their subject. Examples have been made ranging from the most groundbreaking scientific discoveries to the smallest most inconsequential of interests. All those with curious minds are welcome to indulge in their questions, and those who are here to find an answer to the unknown have a community determined to do the exact same.


Located between Valkyrie and the Dronning Maud Land was a C.A.T.S. facility known to have stationed twenty to twenty-five individuals. While this facility was not the only one of its kind nor was it particularly well known, it was regarded as the most punctual of the groups that the organization had to offer. Each researcher working there gave consistent results and products from their work while simultaneously proving to the C.A.T.S. that their use of their time, resources, and funds were well spent for their causes. It had stayed that way for years until six months ago, wherein all contact with the facility had suddenly stopped. Word had gotten out that despite C.A.T.S.’s efforts to reach out to the group, there had been little to no success in the endeavor. It was only recently that they had finally gotten word of the group’s status.


A request was sent by the facility’s head researcher to the main organization. Though he never fully clarified his team's disappearance, let alone their whereabouts, he requested assistance. He stated that the facility was running out of materials. Their greenhouse was not as successful as they had hoped it to be, and it appeared as though the resources they used for their research was running dry. Of course, C.A.T.S. was suspicious of the request due to its abruptness and its abnormal nature - the vagueness from the researcher and the lack of explanation was quite the uncharacteristic display. Yet, out of the importance of the researcher’s lives, they eventually made the choice to send twenty-five of their best workers over to the facility in order to give the stationed researchers the materials that they need.


Though, once those workers finally got there,


There appeared to be no one to receive the resources.


No sign of human life in sight.

PROJECT BASICS


WELCOME TO THE CASTING CALL CLUB PROJECT FOR CRYOGENIC CATACOMBS! Currently, we are hoping for fast paced voice actors who are looking to help us with our silly little roleplay project! Now, I know what you're thinking. "A roleplay??? I don't know about that one.", I know! I know. BUT HEY! Hear me out. This roleplay will contain a LOT of animation, 3D modelled scenes, frequent teasers/videos, and more! The video presented above was made by our current host team! And with your help, there will be a lot more to come!


Now, if you take a look at the roles, you'll see that there's only two roles up for auditioning as of now. This is mostly because there is only ONE PUBLIC ROLE that our applicants know of! More information about that character will be posted in that respective role.


In regards to the role called "[VOICE ACTING PORTFOLIO ENTRIES HERE]". Since the rest of the roles are secret to our applicants, we have to have a sense of privacy with how we request for auditions. And so, we have come up with a solution! Instead of applying for a particular role, we ask that you PLEASE send 3+ samples of your previous work/portfolio pieces into that role! That way, we can see some of the other things you've done! Once this deadline hits, those who we are interested in will receive a call back from us! When we call you back for a second audition, we will give you a plethora of characters to choose from! That way, you’ll still be able to know what you are auditioning for, without spoiling the surprise for everyone else.

    Hello everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it? This is Nugget speaking! We’re very sorry for our month of silence on our end.

    CRYOGENIC CATACOMBS received almost 100 auditions, and thus, we wanted to take our time with looking through them all, and judging them accordingly. We had looked through so many incredible demo reels, and picking our callbacks was one of the most difficult decisions we’ve had to make so far. Me, as well as the rest of our host team, is so absolutely thankful for each of your auditions. And we would never be able to give the adequate amount of thanks to you, for even gaining interest in our silly little RP project.

    As such, we wanted to let everyone know that, after weeks of looking through our auditions, we have officially picked our call-back roles, as well as our voice actor for the role of SAVIO. And now that we’ve obtained our entire list of voice actors, we are able to contact those who got in: TODAY! We plan on contacting everyone who has been accepted, sometime today between 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST [UTC/GMT-5]. If you have gotten in, you will be contacted by the user @holynugget on discord, with a message describing your acceptance, as well as the links to our work server, as well as our community server. Then, once you have arrived, you will be given more information, and you will also be given time to adjust. Once all of our voice actors have been contacted, we will give another update through CCC, giving our entire list of voice actors, in case there is any confusion.

    We apologise for such short notice. As school is coming up soon, we were put under a little bit of a tighter schedule. We weren’t anticipating this much of a stretch, and so, we are taking steps to improve and organise our deadlines, in order to give everyone room to breathe. We can reassure you that we prioritise the comfort and ease of access for those who are working with us, and we’ll make sure that, if you get in, your move into our servers will be smooth.

    Hello everyone!

    Very sorry for the abrupt message, this is nugget speaking! We just wanted to let you all know that we thank you greatly for your auditions thus far. We’ve gotten SO MANY incredible auditions, and it’s been absolutely a joy listening to them all.

    As a little reminder, today is the last day for submissions. We will stop accepting applicants, once the clock hits 12:00 AM EST [UTC-5], on July 2nd.

    For those who have already applied, please remember to put your discord username into your submission, or at least reply to your submission with your discord account, if you have not already done so. In the case that you are accepted for the SAVIO role, or are accepted as a callback, we need to know what discord we should contact to communicate that with you!

    I have already personally DMed a few applicants, asking whether or not they would be okay with possibly getting a call back, even if they haven’t applied for the ‘CALLBACK’ role. It can give system announcements, track information from each facility's cameras, prepare actions on a scheduled basis, etc! For anyone who doesn't have a portfolio, and only recently started to voice act, this is for you! You do not have to do this, if you already have previously voice acted samples you can send it. Improvised scenes will not be used/asked of during your work, if you are casted for a callback role.


In the Custom Audition Lines section, there are three improv-prompts for you. For your audition, you must choose one prompt to reenact for us. Your choice will have no effect on your audition, so pick whichever one seems most interesting to you! While we won't put a limit as to how long your improv sample should be, we would prefer you would keep it under a paragraph. Just so it doesn't become tedious for you. You can go further if you so wish! Just keep our preference in mind.

It’s quiet, calm. Better than a majority of other jobs you’ve seen here, that’s for sure. One day, someone you’ve never seen before walks up to you.
