What exactly is this project?: I am just the co-director of this, my good friend Raspberrii is helping me make this, as I am busy with another project at the moment. This is a series that won't be aired until Summer 2018, but will be a series of 5 to 10 minute videos featuring a Vocaloid song on each and roughly animated like a PV, but will have voice acting and singing. These episodes will be stretching to include every single Vocaloid in at least one video about them and their backstory. MMD will be an option if it comes down to it since I'm rather skilled in it, and to reduce time between episodes, but I'd prefer if I drew the scenes myself with some help from others.
How long is the intended final product?: This will be an ongoing series for quite some time, and by Summer 2018, I plan to have the first Season scripts done and working on the animation. I am postponing it so much, to summer, because I have another project I'm working on involving animation, and I also want to ensure that this project gets the best voice actors possible for the job. I won't actually start working on this project until January to give time for me to work on my other project. This is a side project for me, but I'm very interested in it and wanting it to do well.
What is each episode going to be like?: Each episode will be focused around the lives of Vocaloids and how they became idols for their respective companies, as well as their everyday life as Vocaloids. Then there will be 'special' episodes where we do the story behind the songs with the Vocaloids being their respective characters. These episodes will range from 10-15 minutes in length. Those will get more frequent later and less of the ones of them as human singers slice-of-life.
What are the Vocaloids going to be portrayed as?: They will be humans in this, singers who get the chance to become idols. They won't be portrayed as robots or actual Vocaloids unless it's one of those 'special' episodes where they might be if the song asks for it.
How will voice actors be chosen for this project?: First, it will be on a basis of who sounds the best singing and acting. Then, it will be because you sound like the Vocaloid the most. The main thing is to try your best to stay in tune, that is the main difficulty I see people have. Sing clearly, please. You can sing any song of your choice for auditions.
What songs will we be singing?: Your voice will be used a lot if you're one of the main characters, but if you're sick, we will postpone the episode until you get better. Pretty much every song that I think we should sing will be sung. If it doesn't have an instrumental, I'll make one or have someone else make one.
English or Japanese?: For auditions, you can choose, but we may be singing in Japanese, so keep that in mind. I don't know which will be better for the particular audience we are trying to reach yet.
How will deadlines be?: Deadlines will be a week and a half usually once I give the script to you. If you can't make it in that time, we can give you an extension but please try to turn in your lines in time if you can.
What will this project be like until the animations start getting made?: It will be kinda like a cover group until the videos start being put together. I'll ask people to sing something and give them a date to have it by, and I'll have someone mix it for me, and it will sit on my computer waiting to be put into a video along with any voice acting that goes in the episode.
