Chrysalis Coffin- Original Animation
Project Overview
Chrysalis Coffin
Mari P. is a promising young psychic who works for a company called Psy Co.- an agency that hires out psychics for the purposes of performing exorcisms, removing ghosts from houses, communing with the dead, and other tasks relating to the connection of this world with the next. However, after one of her coworkers dies- and takes several innocent people with him- in a disastrous accident, the bad press leaves Psy Co. teetering on the brink of extinction. When a billionare tech genius contacts her agency to remove some unruly ghosts from their new headquarters, it may be Psy Co.'s last chance to avoid dying out. But is this job really as straight forward as it seems?

Hi there!
I'm Fallingfeather! I'm an animator participating in an animation challenge this summer with a friend- each of us will produce 7 episodes of a unique animated show in 7 weeks. It'll be tough to complete, and probably pretty fast and loose, but I'm excited to have definite goals leading to a completed project! I intend to start animating June 9th and release the first episode 7 days from that date. As of now though, I'm hard at work on preprep! This means writing the scripts (2.5/7 episodes are fully written, and I have the summaries of each one done as well. I know exactly how it's going to end, and how it gets there!), creating 3D models of each setting to base the backgrounds off of, designing characters and logos, and hiring voice actors.
That's where you come in! I'd like to have the lines recorded by June 9th (so I can start animation right away), with a couple of potential adjustments/rerecording over the next couple weeks (such as if I have to cut scenes and rewrite a script to account for the tight schedule).
So without further ado, I have two characters whose boots I'm looking to fill.

Mari (on the left)
Mari is, as mentioned, the main character. She has a bright, eager, and enthusiastic personality, but gets bored easily and finds it hard to appreciate the more mundane aspects of life. However, her somewhat childish nature disguises a very skilled psychic. She takes pride in her abilities and her work, and even though she gets on her boss's nerves sometimes, he knows she's one of his best employees- especially after the lethal incident that landed Psy. Co. in hot water. She's 23 and her hobbies include ping pong, watching cat videos on youtube, and raising mail-order caterpillars and releasing them in the local park. Her psychic energy is pastel and metallic, bubbling out and breaking off in chunks that almost resemble butterflies.
Vesper (on the right)
Vesper is Mari's best friend, and just barely her second in psychic power. Unlike Mari, she comes off as blunt and dry. Despite her initial cold appearance however, she has a lot of affection for those she considers friends; she simply expresses it in a different way. If she likes someone, she'll always pay for their ride home, secretly leave their favorite snacks on their desk just when they start to feel hungry, and will always provide a shoulder to cry on or an ear to rant into if needed. Furthermore, she does have a good sense of humor; she simply allows her serious attitude to be a part of the joke. Even though Mari is technically more powerful in psychic power, her precision and attention to detail is unparalleled, making her an equally valued Psy Co. employee. She is 25, and her hobbies include watching period dramas, dating girls, and being absolutely terrible at cooking no matter how hard she tries. Her psychic energy resembles bolts of lightning, with dark and light flashes of yellow interspersed.

Hi everyone! First of all: Thank you SO much for auditioning! I was completely blown away by the response to this project, and I really appreciate it! I'm attempting to power through the rough draft of each episode's script, so that when the voice actors are selected they can get a feel for their characters. I'll likely make my selection in the next couple of days, so heads up on that! Thank you for all your patience, Fallingfeather
Mari is generally bright and enthusiastic, but does have a penchant for dramatics, and isn't always a ditz. A good grasp of emotional acting would be preferred- she's the main character, so she's going to go through a lot!
(Bored/Whining) Ugh, another dehaunting case. Knowing my luck, it's probably just another squirrel that got stuck in their chimney last winter and died mad about it.
(Excited) *Gasp* Did I get an exorcism? Do I finally get to exorcise someone? I've been practicing my psychic bursts, look!
(Furious) Look, I don't CARE how much you're paying me. I don't care how good it'll make our company look. This is wrong. This is wrong, and you KNOW it.
Vesper is a lot more flat than Mari, with a sort of smooth and luxurious voice, but she is capable of showing emotion. I should also note that she is a black woman, and so I'd prefer it if she was voiced by one as well. However, all auditions are welcome!
Rhodes. I got you a double espresso triple choco-mocha-latte at Sunbonks. I do hope you're grateful.
(Amused) Oh, no, don't start with that. I'm cool. I'm ALWAYS cool. I'm cooler than anyone you'll ever meet, and you know it.
(Harsh whisper) Mari, please, I know you're upset, but you're *shouting*. Just... sit down. Please.
(Sigh) (Regular voice)...Have you really not been watching the news? It's been weeks now...
This is a show about exorcising ghosts, so it makes sense tooo want to get some ghost noises! The ghosts are quite angry and bestial, and so don't have any speaking lines- instead they just make a variety of horrible, spooky noises. I can find or produce some sound effects for this if needed, but if you're capable of making spooky monster noises, I'd really appreciate it!
(A variety of horrifying snarling, moaning, screeching, squealing, etc.)
I was planning on using royalty free music for this project, but it would be nice to have at least one original 'theme' song for the show. Obviously it need not be long or complex.
