Project Overview
About us
Studio Underground is team dedicated to creating quality fandubs of manga, anime, video games and anything of the like. Our first project shall be the fan dubbing of Chainsaw Mans manga with hopes of continuing through to the current manga chapters. Future dubs will be created in the future aswell for other series.
Project Details
Our goal is to create a team of dedicated voice actors to help bring the Chainsaw Man manga to life. we are looking for actors who are willing to stick with a project for the long term, particularly if youre auditioning for a major role such as denji or aki. We will be casting as characters are needed so if you feel like you could play a role which hasnt been up for grabs then all youll have to do is wait for us to get to their introduction.
Requirements:
We are looking for fans of the series who share a similar enthusiasm for the franchise as the rest of the team. Having read the manga is not a necessity but would help for later in the project when we reach manga only territory. audio quality is of course important so we will most likely decline any auditions that include an excess of background noise, peaking and low quality audio. A little of these is fine as our audio editor can tweak takes when necessary. It would be appreciated for you to also link a discord tag in your audition so if you do get the role we can add you and invite you to our discord server.
Audition details:
The auditioning process will be overseen by me (Maxi) as i will also be the project manager and editor. If theres any questions about the project or the team then please message me as i will answer any questions to the best of my ability. For your auditions we would appreciate a few different takes per line, in a a b b c c format. You can audition for as many roles as listed and those who play lesser minor roles may be given the opportunity to play future minor roles. ages 18+ for auditions as the source material is quite errr... graphic.
But most importantly please have fun with your auditions! This is a project for fun in the end.

Denji is of course the main character and therefore will require someone who is willing to commit to the role for as long as the project runs for. Denji is quite crude and loud so think of a voice you'd feel would suit him. don't be afraid to be loud with audition as denji has some wild vocals on him.

The role of Makima is an important one as she controls most of the plot through out the first part of Chainsaw Man. She is always under control of each situation shes in and has a very calm and sometimes cold demeanor to her. We would like someone who can be calm and gentle while also being able to flip on the scary, yet subtle, domineering tone.

Your condition isn't entirely unheard of, but there aren't many historical precedents. So few that there isn't even a name for it yet... I believe you though. My nose is especially good, so i can tell.
If Denji quits the public safety bureau or violates any rules or anything like that, he'll be taken care of like any other devil... I look forward to working together with you until you die.
Aki is one of the main trio and so will be a major role to fill. he initially comes off as abrasive but still has a soft side to him. He's is usually calm but when dealing with people who irritate him he is quick to get angry. this is yet another role that will be a rather big commitment

Listen, don't forget, devilmen are indisputably still devils, and a devil hunter's got no business sympathizing with a devil... Everyone here is serious but you. I want to make devils suffer as much as possible when i kill them. And you're telling me you want to play nice with the devils?
The crazy queen herself. yet another major role and one which will require someone who is commited to the role. power is a very loud and assertive character who gets a little too excited when bloodshed is involved. she can tone it down when needed in more somber or serious moments. go as crazy as you want with her though.

Pochita honestly isnt a huge role early on but through out the story does get scenes here and there. for the first few pages pochita mainly just barks. if you have a cute voice and love this little doggy then please by all means audition.

The zombie devil is one of the first devils that show up in the manga and is the first that "chainsaw man" fights. if you can play a monster then this is the perfect role for you.

The Muscle devil is a character those only familiar with the anime wont recognise. This is a devil that denji is commanded to fight by makima and is a devil that is holding a young girl captive. It most likely would just make little noises in its cute form before turning into its true self and becoming quite grotesque.

The debt collector is denjis first boss. a man part of the yakuza who uses denji for profit. hes one of the more aged characters in the story and being a gangster would have a roughness to him. not a major role, but an important one for the beginning of the story.

The thing is, a real devil hunter, wont just let yakuza take the corpse afterwards. His other redeeming quality is that he always does as he's told.
Denji boy... Ya have our thanks. Obedient like a dog. Happy to work for cheap treats like a dog too. Thing is though, I hate the stench of fucking dogs.
this fella is the driver who, well, drives. a minor role but still one that needs filling.

This is a small role involving a small girl who is being manipulated by the muscle devil. she only appears in a single chapter but is another role that needs filling.

This is another very minor role. this is the father of the girl who gets used by the muscle devil that denji fights. simply a injured, distressed dad.

A small role playing an unnamed fiend that denji and aki are tasked to deal with. For this one just go as wild as you want with it. Like you're a feral beast.

This is just for any roles that arent listed and any background talking or noises. This is a role that will need filling throughout the whole story so auditions of all types are appreciated.
Police chief: "the target is holed up in a room on the second floor, we'll leave the rest to you."
Dude in a phone booth: "The area's sealed off and private citizens have been evacuated. I'm requesting support in front of nerima station. It's a namako devil."
