The Master Mev (Revelation Into Mercury Arc, Chapters 12-20)

Rainbow Dash is the main character of The Master Mev. In this arc, she will confess her mev status to Scootaloo, go through events of Washouts episode with some divergence from canon, and receive Discord's magic, at his own will. The chapters are not precisely chronological due to these events happening in tandem with each other.

She sighed and wiped the tears away with one of her wings, otherwise undeterred as she told Scootaloo, "Being a master mev has its own set of safety rules too, believe it or not. I know there are things I need to do to keep other ponies safe from me—and I do them. I don't want to see you get hurt by what Lightning Dust might have you do."

"Who's pretending?" Rainbow remained unbothered with a twirling shrug. "I told you I'm not giving you any more information unless you pay the price. You have yet to give me an answer. Care to give one now?" Her eyebrows waggled over her magenta eyes with an inviting smile.

Starlight Glimmer is Primeva of Team Awesome, the first fledgling. Her role this arc is smaller than the previous one though she does receive her own seat at the map table in Chapter 13 and answer to a summon in Chapter 19 to help Rainbow Dash with a basic magic request.

"Let's try to be a little more discrete about what we say on that sort of thing while we're out in public," Starlight suggested. With Rainbow not present, that put Primeva in charge of Team Awesome for the moment. "Put it off until later if that's what it takes."

1 - [Context: Starlight has been summoned by Rainbow Dash on a Tuesday morning after eating Lightning Dust's magic. Starlight does not know about the eating part, but she does not mind the summon, as it is part of her service. She even welcomes it.]

In a flash, a unicorn Lightning Dust did not know appeared in the room with them. "Master," Starlight Glimmer said with a bright smile. "How may I be of service?" She put her right hoof to her chest in a polite bow.

"I agree," Starlight said, "but a name for a job like this in general is not a bad idea. How about Project Mercury?"

Fluttershy has a substantial role in Chapter 13 with helping out both Discord and Rainbow Dash arrange for letting the master mev eat his magic. She only appears in one other chapter, Chapter 20, as part of a pack meeting.

"As for Fluttershy," Applejack changed the subject, "she'd rather stay home on care-taking duty today. She can leave her patient. He's not so bad off, but I guess it's just enough that's where she wants to be now that she doesn't have to worry about work at the school."

Pinkie Pie goes with Rainbow Dash to the mirror pool one night, where she meets a copy of hers that had been in Manehattan until Rainbow was able to call her back. The three reach an agreement that the copy will actually help out Team Awesome and stay in the reserve instead of going back to the pool. The copy is named Penny. In Chapter 20, Penny is called forth again and able to show off a special ability to transform into water at will.

"Trust me, you're doing a great job, and we all appreciate what you do. Starlight has her own special job as Primeva. Don't be jealous."

Spike only appears in Chapter 20 to act as an assistant where he documents a lot of what is happening for a Team Awesome pack meeting. He does have a few questions of his own during the meeting.

"Well, alright," he said and went back to his own notes. "Wait…" he paused. "So how does Starlight's throne work? It hasn't moved, and Rainbow's been away plenty of time...I think...maybe...just how long does it take to disappear? And the distance?"

Discord's main role this arc is to willingly offer up his magic for Rainbow Dash to eat in Chapter 13. After his recovery, he is allowed to still participate in the Team Awesome pack meeting in Chapter 20.

Sweetie Belle based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. The season acts as a backdrop or is notably changed throughout the chapters.

There is no song for this set of chapters but if I keep doing more projects to cover the entire story, she does sing in a much later chapter (Chapter 68 - The Show), which would be in a much later project.

Sweetie Belle is the CMC most interested in mevs when she finds out about them from her sister, Rarity. She and Rainbow Dash bond when the filly shows interest in watching an actual exchange. Though denied, Rainbow offers to show off her full vampire form and introduce her leviathan dread, Blitz. Sweetie happily accepts.

She is also happy to be the pony in the know among her friends about anything mev-related.

While it is not covered in this arc, I do want any actors interested in this role to know that Sweetie Belle has a very large role in this story. In the next arc, she will offer to become Rainbow Dash's assistant, and Rainbow Dash will accept. She has an entire chapter dedicated to that event in Chapter 28 - Rhezenda Sweetie Belle (which is one of the longest chapters in the story, along with its follow up chapter immediately after, Chapter 29 - Learning More).

Scootaloo based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. The season acts as a backdrop or is notably changed throughout the chapters. Parts of this arc take place during the Washouts episode.

Scootaloo finds out from Rainbow Dash herself that Rainbow is a master mev early on in the arc in a scene similar to the  opening of the Washouts episode. Her CMC friends learn about their sisters being fledgling mevs too.  The three are allowed to discuss the matter among each other though are encouraged to keep quiet about the matter otherwise. Scootaloo catches on that Sweetie Belle is warming up to the mev stuff more than she is while Scootaloo herself is mostly confused by it.

Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo still go to the Washouts show together. While there are several similarities to how the real episode played out with some lines directly lifted from the show, there are also notable differences. There is no going to Spitfire or Rainbow Dash tearing up Scootaloo's Washouts merchandise, for instance. Instead, the two have an intense conversation where Scootaloo admits her disability, Rainbow offers to try and help with it, but Scootaloo decides she wants what the Washouts have to offer.

The whole thing will still lead to Scootaloo trying to perform with the Washouts. Another scene again plays out very similar to the actual episode of the next Washouts show with Scootaloo growing nervous and being in genuine danger from the stunt she is supposed to do. Rainbow still swoops in and saves her. Instead of cutting to a scene of a Scootaloo fan club, this story (and arc) has Scootaloo accept Rainbow's offer to try and find a cure for her disability.

Apple Bloom based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. The season acts as a backdrop or is notably changed throughout the chapters.

Apple Bloom becomes angry when Applejack confesses to having become a vampire through becoming one of Rainbow Dash's fledglings. She does manage to calm down when Applejack informs her that Rainbow Dash is telling Scootaloo, so Applejack wanted to be the one telling Apple Bloom these things. She figures out that Rarity will be informing Sweetie Belle of much the same. Afterward, on learning more about mevs through Sweetie Belle, she becomes curious about Applejack's title, which she will learn is Fyra.

Apple Bloom's role throughout the story is not as prominent as Sweetie Belle or Scootaloo, but she will still be around for many notable events involving her friends and/or Applejack.

Spitfire based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. While this arc takes place during the The Washouts episode in season 8, Spitfire's role in that episode is cut. Instead, she is only here at the start in Chapter 12 as the Wonderbolts captain. Her role in the story overall is very minor.

Rainbow Dash reveals her master mev status to Spitfire, with Celestia and Luna present, and the two then have a small private talk on the matter. They reach an agreement that the rest of the Wonderbolts can know about the vampire status so long as Rainbow at least hides her nocturnal fangs from Wonderbolts audiences and fans.

Maud Pie based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. The season acts as a backdrop or is notably changed throughout the chapters. Chapter 16 is Maud's only appearance in this arc. Her role in the overall story is very minor.

Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and an extra mirror pool copy are at the mirror pool. Before Maud arrives at the scene, Rainbow Dash summoned the copy and drank her in, then summoned her again from the mev reserve. The three are discussing the copy being able to stay in the reserve and giving her a name. Maud shows up right after the copy has accepted Rainbow's offer and hoping to be given her name (which will be Penny, the chapter's title).

The lines from the audition are almost the entirety of the role. The only other line is "Okay" after Pinkie Pie explains the situation, and Rainbow Dash confirms it.

Before Rainbow could tell her, another familiar voice projected into the air and asked, "Pinkie Pie?"

Maud looked at the other Pinkie Pie, back at her sister, and said in a monotone voice, "Why did you copy yourself again? I thought you didn't like how it turned out."

Maud does not know what mevs are or what Pinkie Pie is talking about, but she has figured out that Rainbow Dash is somehow responsible. Keep in mind that Maud's voice is dry and plain. Any hint of emotion should be very, very subtle or there should be no hint at all though of Maud's lines, this one would have the most emotion behind it. Such emotions would be concern, accusation, or both.]

Maud looked over to Rainbow Dash and blinked. "What did you do to my sister?"

Lightning Dust based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. The season acts as a backdrop or is notably changed throughout the chapters. Parts of this arc take place during the Washouts episode.

For Chapters 17 and 18, much of Lightning Dust's role is almost the same as in The Washouts episode. The context of her introduction is changed as she arrives earlier in the scene. She also laughs off Scootaoo's suggestion of briefly joining the Wonderbolts, supporting Rainbow Dash in nixing that idea immediately. Instead of having a rope wrap around her hoof and throw her far away, she has a brief exchange with Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo. This help set up Chapter 19, which is not taken from the episode at all.

For Chapter 19, Lightning Dust visits Rainbow Dash at night, which leads to a number of things. Rainbow Dash feeds on Lightning Dust's fear, and Lightning Dust finds out Rainbow Dash is some kind of vampire. Lightning Dust even concedes to allowing her own magic to be eaten as the price of knowing more about what a master mev is.

Additional Note: The pay is for this project only. Lightning Dust is a supporting role in this arc only. She will make only one more appearance much, much later in the story (Chapter 69), and then it will be a minor role.

She actually could say no and be perfectly safe, but that would be the easier option. She is deliberately choosing the more challenging option. She is also trying to feel stronger and more in charge of the situation, in general.]

Lightning Dust looked side to side at the floor. "N-n...fine! Yes, alright. Yes. You can bite me. Then you're going to tell me more," she gestured forcefully with her right forelimb, trying to assert her place in this situation, "and I'm going to know that I was able to survive an actual vampire."

2 - [Context: Lightning Dust has learned more about what a master mev is. She is a bit irked to sense that Rainbow Dash held back on her a lot over the course of the weekend. The weekend is when the mostly similar events to the Washouts episode happened.]

"Just how much were you holding back from me this weekend? Does that little pegasus friend of yours even know what you are?" The guest pegasus sounded annoyed or angry.

Rolling Thunder's role is almost the same as in The Washouts episode. The context of her introducing herself to Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo is slightly altered to cut the part about her and Short Fuse laughing and downplaying Rainbow Dash being a Wonderbolt since Rainbow doesn't get the opportunity to announce it. Lightning Dust shows up earlier in the scene.

Chapter 17 is the only one where Rolling Thunder has any dialogue in the entire story, and the audition lines are the sum of her part entirely.

If doing barrel rolls through nine-hundred million volts of electricity in a raging thunderstorm is wrong, then I don't want to be right." She grinned fiercely.
