Rolling Thunder based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic TV series. This story takes place during season 8. The season acts as a backdrop or is notably changed throughout the chapters. Parts of this arc take place during the Washouts episode.

Rolling Thunder's role is almost the same as in The Washouts episode. The context of her introducing herself to Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo is slightly altered to cut the part about her and Short Fuse laughing and downplaying Rainbow Dash being a Wonderbolt since Rainbow doesn't get the opportunity to announce it. Lightning Dust shows up earlier in the scene.

Chapter 17 is the only one where Rolling Thunder has any dialogue in the entire story, and the audition lines are the sum of her part entirely.

"Rolling Thunder," said the tall pegasus mare. Rainbow and Scootaloo turned their heads to see her.

"We're called the Washouts because we all used to be Wonderbolts until we got 'washed out'," Rolling Thunder explained without being prompted. They were introducing each other, so it seemed fitting to her. "I got booted out of Wonderbolt Academy cause of 'flagrant disregard for hazardous weather'. Pssh. If doing barrel rolls through nine-hundred million volts of electricity in a raging thunderstorm is wrong, then I don't want to be right." She grinned fiercely.

I did change the word "finale" to "show" since during the actual episode, the last sequence of the show that we see is Lightning Dust's stunt, not Rolling Thunder's. Anyway, Lightning Dust has just indicated Rolling Thunder's injury will be keeping her out of performing for awhile.]

The other Washout mare explained. "During the show, I caught the old hind leg in the crushinating jaws of Smash-a-Lot, patent pending," she said with a friendly wink.
