Project Overview

Hello to all of my fellow VO actor/actresses/tertiary acting gender pronoun, and if you're reading this I sincerely hope you will leave an audition below after reading this. This project will be an abridged version(Fandub) of Case Closed (AKA Detective Conan) in the style of Dragon Ball Z abridged by Team Four Star, as well as None Piece by PurpleEyesWTF.


 I have written the script myself with help from my team and am actively searching for talent in several different places. The time requirement for this project will hopefully be very small (1-2 hours of vocal lines every 1-2 months) for any of the talent, however the current team is hoping to make this series a long lasting one so we would need a long period commitment for any major voice roles(1 or more years). In addition while we aren't looking for pristine audio, we are looking for a decent quality of audio so all talent must be able to provide this themselves. 

The finished product will be published on Youtube as well as our website. www.3dproductionsinc.com. We will also provide samples for any talent looking to add to their demo reel. If you're interested please feel free to message me anytime here as I check frequently.


We thankfully have cast some amazing talent in many of the main roles in our first cast, however, we are still in need of voices for several side roles, extras and even a few essential characters.

Shinichi Kudo(Adult Voice)

Shinichi Kudo is the protagonist of our story, as well as the worlds number 1 teen detective. He is highly intelligent and mature for his age, as well as being obsessed with mystery and adventure. Shinichi is roughly 16 years old, and so we are looking to get that age for the voice, however we are open to any voice so please don't be afraid to audition.

  • "Sorry Ran. I know you don't like all of this detective stuff....but you have to understand Sherlock is my hero." (said with a faint sense of apology and then mild excitement when talking about Sherlock)

  • "Mystery!" (Yell in excitement or exultation)

  • “So if I sit here with a piano wire and a grappling hook, I can lean over two rows when the ride’s moving full speed and loop the wire around his head dropping the hook on the tracks and letting it ride.” (Say as if leading up to a bad pun)

Conan Edogawa(Kid Voice)

Conan Edogawa is the  alter ego Shinichi Kudo uses when he is turned back into a child after pursuing a mystery. Conan has all the same intelligence and characteristics as Shinichi. If we can get the same person to do the adult, and child voice that would help simplify things, but we will pick the best voice for each role, so if you only want to audition for one of the other that is fine. Conan is a male child who appears to be somewhere between 6-10 years old. He also wears glasses and a bow tie to hide his identity from others.

  • “Oh my god I’m a  twelve year old girl!” (Yelled in Abject Terror)

  • “Shinichi Kudo is on the case! I’ll find these guys, get that medicine, and get my body back!” (Said forcefully with undeserved confidence)

  • “It looks like the truth prevailed. Case Closed.” (Said like a typical overused anime catchphrase)

Ran Mouri

Ran Mori is the lead female role in the story and is a high school girl whose father is a deadbeat detective. She is also an expert martial artist and in love with Shinichi Kudo, unbeknownst to him. Ran has a strong sense of justice, as well as comedy, and is also around 16 years old.

  • “Well he’s a bit of a jerk, plus he’s arrogant, and self centered, oh and I can’t forget how obsessed he is with everything related to mystery, and is totally clueless.” (said as if complaining about someone close to you)

  •  “I know you're into that weird detective stuff like Shinichi Conan, but Dad is trying to work so don’t bother him, he gets kind of ...beaty.” (Said in a motherly chastising way at first and then only half jokingly at the end.)

  • “....Shut the Fuck Up Conan….lets go home already” (Said in real irritation and anger.)

Inspector Kogoro Mouri

Kogoro is a alcoholic, down on his luck detective, as well as the father of Ran Mouri. Kogoro is an excitable, often violent man and has a deep dislike for both Shinichi and Conan. He will be portrayed as drunk during a large portion of our series so we hope you've got a good accent.

  • “Did I ask you jeeves! Anyway where was I? Ah yes where we you the night of tonight!, wait no, You can’t handle the truth.” (yelled drunkenly in utter confusion)

  • “I did it I solved the case that’s my kid, and that’s my kid’s new kid. “ (said in excitement and pride)

Inspector Juzo Megure

Inspector Jota Megure is the lead detective with the Japanese police force, and Kogoro Mouri's former boss. Megure is a shorter, thicker middle aged man who is very rough and simple. Megure is a typical worn out detective, easily irritable and often pessimistic due to a tragic past that is revealed later.

Dr. Hiroshi Agasa

Dr. Hiroshi Agasa is a genius/mad scientist who is a friend and neighbor of Shinichi Kudo's family. Dr. Agasa is an elederly man with a bright disposition and a sharp wit. He is one of the only characters in the series who we want a specific accent for. We would very much like Dr, Agasa to have a German voice, specifically a mad German scientist. We will accept any accent just in case we find something great, but it will be on a case by case basis.

  •  “That Shinichi has been telling my secrets again, that dirty little….just you wait until I tell Ran how long he wet the bed. Now come here we’ll see what the police have to say about all this foolishness.” (Said with a lot of irritation and a hint of intimidation)

  • “Thanks coming from the world's greatest detective who just got himself shrunk into a twelve year old girl that means a lot.” (Said with excessive sarcasm)

Gin is a mysterious man with long yellow hair who always appears dressed in all black. He is part of a mysterious criminal organization that is responsible for Shinichi being turned back into a child as well as other crimes such as murder, extortion kidnapping etc. He is a ruthless criminal with no regard for the lives of others.

The person working Police Dispatch on any given day. There's no real character or backstory for this voice, however, it will undoubtedly recur in the series so we want a specific person for the role.

Jeeves is our generic butler voice which will be reused for every butler in the series, except perhaps one or two exceptions. He should be mild and tempered like a real Butler unless the lines call for otherwise. We would like for Jeeves to have an English accent, however like in all our other roles we are open to other auditions.

Officer Randy is a recurring character that will voice several different unnamed police throughout the series. He is a stupid, comedy relief character who will also be used to voice the small serious police lines. Officer Randy is supposed to be male, however, if a good female audition comes up I'm always open to different things.

The two narrator roles are faceless characters who describe the story and events of the world on the other side of the fourth wall, essentially acting as a guide in confusing times, or comedic relief when the story has become too stagnant. While the roles were written for men, we are open to female voices as well.

We have spots for quite a few extras and while we might ask our other talent to do some, we really want to get more people to voice the extras and non-recurring characters.
