Kim Dayeon has never left the Enclave - it’s all she’s ever known. She was born in the Enclave, and she’ll die there just like all humanity. She’s part of a sprawling settlement of the last humans living deep inside the Earth since the surface was deemed uninhabitable after the Great Reset. Seemingly endless & carved deep into the mantle of the Earth’s crust, the Enclave has survived for centuries. However, she’s forced to join a newly formed research team led by Fadiman, tasked with returning to the surface, the first ever to do so. They venture up into the unknown along with Theodore, Lionel & Alicia. What follows next is an action-packed story of survival, loss and redemption - for all of humanity.
▪️ Set centuries in the future after a cataclysmic event called the Great Reset made the Earth's surface uninhabitable.
▪️ What is left of humanity is now "one culture," all cut from the same cloth, the Enclave - a large government body.
▪️ They all speak and act in a way that is natural to them, aka "super fancy," but with a common tongue. Natural voices.
▪️ Dialogue is inspired by games such as Amnesia: the Dark Descent and American McGee's Alice & Madness Returns.
▪️ Season One is 15 episodes, episode 8 being a mid-season finale. Each episode will be roughly 30 to 60 minutes in length.
▪️ It will be created with the Sims 4 and rendered in Blender. Each episode will take a long time, so commitment is critical.
▪️ Inspired by other shows such as the Kenopsia Effect, the Rivers and most recently, the Foundlings. Watch those for the vibe.
▪️ I know the audition lines are long. Feel free only to do one of the three or parts of each.
▪️ Do not read the words between [x] and (x), these are to direct you. Please follow them.
▪️ Record additional takes three max. Improvisation is encouraged. Emotion and believability are key.
▪️ No background noise or voice-altering effects and editing. A good microphone is ideal.
▪️ MP3, WAV or OGG preferred, but any format is accepted, so long as the quality is decent.
▪️ You can audition for as many roles as you like. Accent and gender are not important.
▪️ Discord is the preferred way of communication (daledrau#0666), but e-mail is also fine.
▪️ Be punctual, dedicated and committed. Just let me know if you can't hit a deadline; I don't bite!

Kim Dayeon is a geomorphologist by trade, with a curious nature that's as sensitive to change as the Earth she lives in. A sense of idealism taints her otherwise sober poise, hiding a gentle soul behind the cutting edge of science.

(angry) You reprimand me because I choose to honour my convictions, for once? Rather than genuflecting to soldiers and medics singing the praises of stoicism? (voice raised, almost shouting) This is not "for humanity," but in spite of your inhumanity!
(strong-willed) I cannot imagine there is much for me to salvage on the surface, hence I am beginning to question my purpose here. [pause] (a glimmer of self-doubt) You may carry onward, but I shall find my own passage back to civilization, retracing the steps we took on this... crusade. (crushed, quiet) I will return to a simpler time, before whispers of the promised land on the other side of this wilderness.
(playful) Ah, Lionel, why must you torment me like this? We are captives of the tide; you ought to show the forces of nature a little humility. (laughs) Or else, [gathers herself] (play-threatening) Alicia might come to enact their vengeance upon you...!

Lionel Cervantes is a physicist in training, the pride of the Cervantes family, carrying on his shoulders and sleeves the legacy of his father. A little humility would suit him all the same, for he is not under his father's protection, but rather his only hope for a future.

(bewildered) These birds, and- and these...! Oh, it's surreal. I would never have thought I'd get to see all of this, outside of- outside of books, outside of some pictures. (emotional) I'm in awe.
(respectful) You endow me with the opportunity to make a difference, father. Your trust means the world to me - this new world, that we may find on the other side, full of promise. [long pause] I shall endeavour to justify your decision to all the others, for I understand it was not made lightly. Your faith honours me, and the memory of those that came before us, lighting our way in this darkness.
(sarcastic) Look at him, surly like a king jealous of what his kingdom thinks of him. [shouts to Theo] All this pacing, you're going to wear down the tread on your boots, and then they'll be no good for our necks anymore! [pause] What then?!

Theodore Menenius is a soldier, or some would say a mercenary - putting up a front which, for every day that passes, gets harder and harder to tell from his real self. Is he ever-cautious, or are those keen eyes betraying a softer side?

(inquisitive) We all bore witness, Alicia, and yet as Lionel and Dayeon descend into madness from this revelation - you appear to thrive? [pause] (a little pushy) Why for? What are you concealing in best laid plans?
(disgusted) They're unremarkable. Ordinary. Tourists, more than victims of war - and as trustworthy as any feckless rabble of the sort... (disgruntled) Do you believe they made it much further? It has been six days since we came across the last supply station.
(informative) It's the Theory of Oxygen. After the Great Reset, our ancestors brought with them the oxygen that gave them life. As we head now towards the surface, it is staying behind to serve the purpose given by its old masters. It's no longer... poisoning us. [long pause] Like an illusory fog, promising our deliverance from evil. Keeping us ignorant of the truth. Of reality.

Alicia Maude is a paramedic, who hides in soft gauze a steel gaze that accepts reality for what it is, not caught up in daydreams of what used to be or could have been. A grounded approach to every situation makes her the natural leader of every group she's in.

(annoyed) You're dancing to Fadiman's rhythm, Lionel. He is not here with you, we are! And if your mind wanders further, so shall we, surely into death's arms. (authoritative) You consummate your loyalty to Fadiman in your duty to us. Remember that.
(gentle) Theo, walk with me for a moment. (stern) Must I remind you to whom you owe your allegiance in this predicament? If you do not take care to see us for who we are, then your report to Fadiman is worthless. That is, if you'll even live to tell it, with the rest of us dead in the wake of your short-sightedness. [pause] I am loath to suspect that this would be the intention behind your escort, considering your temperament. As though we are not simply trying to outlive this purgatory... aren't you?
(angry) There was no hope for them, and there is none for us - the Great Reset wiped the slate clean, and we have now abandoned the home we carved into it. What's left but death, extinction, nothingness? We cannot afford to make sacrifices. [long pause] (matter-of-fact) This, right here, around this fire, is all that we have. Who can truly compel us to throw it all away?
