Project Overview

What is Blood In The Woods?
Blood In The Woods is a fantasy/horror audio drama podcast consisting of mature language and themes, action and supernatural themes.

I will not accept any auditions past 8am on the 15th of June AEST (6pm on the 14th of June EST). I will begin looking at auditions 1am EST (2pm AEST) on the 14th of June.

Requirements: 

  • Discord account would be useful to have as it will be my main way of communicating to you.
  • Decent sound quality would be optimal. Basically minimal background noise and echo, please.
  • Previous VA experience is *not required* but it would definitely help. I may look at your CCC profile to see what other auditions/projects you've taken part in.

  • Welcome the Cast

    Thank to everyone had auditioned, I listened to every one of them and liked them all. I have selected people I see to best portray the character. Congrats to those who have been casted. If it is not too much of me to ask, you can friend me on discord (dowlth392#8679) so we can keep in touch more easily - and if there are any issues with that, private message me on CCC and we can discuss alternative communication methods. Thank you everyone who was interested in this project, I wish you the best for any further projects you audition for. :)

  • Need more auditions for certain characters

    Hey guys, love the auditions so far. But unfortunately the people who have auditioned Dorian, Chloe, Blaze, Samantha & Andrew don't have the voice that I'm looking for. So I will keep those roles open; I encourage anyone who has friends who wants to do VA work or has done VA work before, share them this CCC page as I would love to here more variety of voices. Thanks so much guys, you all rock. :)

Similar to James – Vicky can come off a bit harsh when she isn’t in a good mood. Overall, she’s a hardworking tomboy who’s there to support her friends when the time comes. Vicky has a medium-low female voice.

Chris is the biggest goofball around and loves to have a good time with his mates. A party animal would be the biggest understatement for Chris, even though is relaxed attitude has gotten him in trouble, he’s an easygoing guy most of the time. Chris does have Spanish blood in him and does have a mid-low to low voice.

  • (upset/annoyed) You don't just take a man's beer. Having a beer is the most manly thing a man can do.

Son to his successful business man of a father, although is relatively smart – Lex is cocky and can come off as snobbish, especially towards people who aren’t as wealthy or popular as him. He’s a bit of a bully to James but is mainly his biggest rival. His perfect life is contrasted with his lazy eye, which he wears glasses for. Lex has a mid-high voice.

  • (annoyed/threatening) Whatever. Just so that you know, you're nothing compared to me.

  • (explaining) James is right, we should stay here if something is out there that can kill us. Even though he's not as smart as me, I agree with him. For once.

Self-proclaimed queen of the school, Jessica is the standing definition of a mean girl and will ridicule any girl who doesn’t meet her girly standards. She is a brat and a manipulator, but before she “switched” she was well liked by every girl in the school before she became the witch that is her today. Jessica has a mid-high to mid voice range.

  • (explaining/stern) If I had to guess who's behind all this, I think fashionless Chloe is the killer.

  • (annoyed/confident) No cheerleader is left behind, okay mister. Even if she's injured, cheerleaders stick together!

  • (angry/explaining) I'm selfish?! You're one to talk, this isn't about your "best friend", it's about the rest of us. We'll end up dead if we don't leave! Don't you want the rest of your freakish friends to stay alive?

Unfortunate boyfriend to Jessica, Brock is what Jessica used to be – liked by most people, but some avoid him so they don’t have to deal with “the witch”. He’s very modest and gentlemen-like, why he’s with Jessica is a mystery to the school – as he’s serving the self-proclaimed queen. Brock has a mid-low to low voice range.

  • (stern) Jessica, that's enough. We can't just accuse people for this situation we are in. 

  • (angry/annoyed) You call him that one more time and I'll shove your head into that tree.

Right hand man to Lex, Michael isn’t rich but is very good at scaring people if Lex needs him to do so. Even though he’s not the smartest, he’s more of a bully to James which Lex always stops him as it’s unneeded. When Michael is not with Lex, he’s with his grandmother being such the sweetheart with her – and when he slips up, he gets the “Hand of Discipline” dealt to him. Michael has a mid-high voice.

  • (mocking/cocky) Yeah, you guys don't belong here. You and your freak-show friend over there.

  • (angry/cocky) Oh you wanna go now Chris, hey? Well come on then, I'll knock you out in one punch!

  • (scared/panic) Wh-what was that?! The wasn't normal, that wasn't normal. That. Was. Not. Normal!

This kindhearted ten year old who loves video-games is usually bubbly and cheerful, he’s an expert with technology at his age and is a bit of a nerd compared to his older brother James, who he gets along well with. Sammy has a high voice.

Note: Sammy has a stuffed toy rabbit called Harry, which Sammy gives him a voice so when it say (Harry) make it sound like Sammy is putting on a voice. Harry has a mid-high voice.

  • (upbeat) Well, I think it would be fun this party. You, me and Harry.

  • (calm/upbeat) You don't have a name? I'll call you Grace, okay.

  • (confident) Hi Mr. Dragon, I'm Sammy. And this is my friend Harry. (Harry) Hello Mr. Dragon. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Along with James and Vicky, Dorian is one of the members of the goth group. He’s a bit weird and strange to the whole goth group. No-one knows how he got into the group in the first place, but his dark sense of humor is what people find odd about him. Dorian has a medium-high to mid voice range.

  • (insane/stern) I would use the demon to torture and murder all my enemies as I watch the blood splatter everywhere, watching the blood of my enemies pour out of their bodies as they slow become corpses!

  • (confident/full of himself) Oh please, I have more tricks up my sleeve than you think. So messing with me is not advised. Got it?

  • (insane/threatening) One more step and i'll cut this kid's throat fucking open!

One of the two leaders of the goth group, Sabrina is very much what you would expect as what a goth would be. She is very serious and dark, but before she “switched” she used smile and was more cheerful – now she doesn’t have any other face expression other than her harsh, neutral face she usually has. Sabrina has a mid voice.

  • (solemn) No-one is to be blamed as we don't know what is truly happening.

  • (annoyed/stern) Love....what do you know about love? Nothing! You know nothing about love! You don't know the meaning of love you backstabbing witch.

  • (stern/calm) Penny, stay with the rest of the group. I don't want you to get hurt or come after me if i'm any trouble. You're well liked by everyone, Penny.

Being captain of the cheer-leading team and one of the two leaders of the goth group, Penny is not what you would expect to be leading such group. Her pastel goth aesthetic contrasts the stereotypical look of a goth that her older sister, Sabrina, has. Penny's personality is another trait that is different from her sister, being bright and cheerful. She gives off a bubbly aura when around people and is not shy to talk to new people. Penny has a mid-high to high voice range.

  • (bubbly) James, its good to see you here. You enjoying the party? Sabrina, come say hi.

  • (stern/irritated) Everyone shut it! This argument is ridiculous, we are taking Samantha with us and that is final! Okay everyone? Good.

  • (confident/upset) Oh no, poor Harry. Don't worry Sammy, Doctor Penny will stitch up Harry so he's all good and healthy.

The Falcons twins are the most known twins in the entire school. Willow is the more well behaved twin, being hard working and mostly dedicated to her studies. When she isn't busy dealing with school work, she's playing her guitar and writing her own music. Willow has a mid-high voice.

Note: Since Willow does play guitar, you can have some of your audition have you playing the guitar. Not needed but you can if you want.

The Falcons twins are the most known twins in the entire school. Oscar is a bit of a trouble maker but a good guy who just loves to have a good time with his mates Oscar is the leader of the group of skaters at the school and is a confident person, but he's a bit protective when people talk down to his younger twin sister, Willow. If Oscar isn't skating around the neighborhood, he's probably doing something a little daring. Oscar has a mid-low to mid voice range.

Daughter to an over-protective father who is apart of the police force, Chloe is not you're stereotypical girl. Chloe is more of a tomboy who loves to skate, but was forced into the cheer-leading team by her dad. She is resilient and strong-mind, not taking crap from anyone who gives her it. Chloe has a mid-high voice, but does have aspects of a mid voice as well.

  • (annoyed/stern) How is this my doing? We have no idea what is going on, so fuck off.

  • (angry) You wanna just leave her here? Are you fucking insane?! She'll get killed if we leave her.

Laura is your stereotypical cheerleader and her friendly personality is what people like about her. She usually hangs out with her best friend Samantha and Chloe. She's easy going but as soon as someone talks bad about her BFF in the whole world, she will not hesitate to defend Samantha - even if it risks her own safety. Being a geek and a cheerleader seems impossible to some, but not for Samantha. This bookworm cheerleader is a high achiever when it comes to school and being a role model for the younger students, always keeping notes on anything important, physically or mentally - she notes down everyone's work ability to what their favorite color is. She is the first person to help anyone who's struggling with school work to giving a hand to someone in need, she usually puts others before herself. Samantha has a mid to mid-high voice range.

  • (consoling) It's okay Laura, you're okay. You'll be okay...deep breathes, takes deep breathes. Breathe in, hold. Then breathe out.

  • (solemn/timid) That wasn't normal at all. No way that thing is real, it's not real....is it?

Tall, dark and brute, Blaze is an outcast to the school. His intimidating personality is why most people stay away from him. Logical by nature, Blaze knows how to adapt to any situation he's in. Not many people know much about Blaze, he become a pivot of rumors which made more people outcast him. Blaze has a low to mid-low voice range.

  • (stern/solemn) If anyone leaves on their own, they are more than likely to be dead. So I would suggest that we all stay here instead of being picked of one by one.

  • (consoling/solemn) He's a smart kid from what I can tell James. He'll know what to do if he's in danger.

  • (flustered) What?! N-no I don't, I don't have a plush. Shut up Roxanne, I d-don't have a plush. Plushies are for kids, I'm not a kid!

Being an embarrassing mum is an understatement for Ashley, being the mother of her two boys, James and Sammy. She drives an 80s van and sells jams at the local market each Sunday while also managing a job at the Melting Puzzle Cafe. Ashley has a mid voice.

  • (explaining/teasing) Because I have work tonight so I can't leave him at home alone and I didn't want you to miss this party so you could look after your little brother.

  • (stern) James, Sammy. Thank god you're alright. We need to leave. Now.

  • (nervous/terrified) Guys! I need help getting down. Can someone help? It's really- AHH! No..no,WHY DID I LOOK DOWN?!

Loud and extroverted, Roxanne knows how to kick back and relax while also maintaining a health study routine. With her punk rock style and confident personality, she is the only person that is friends with Blaze, ultimately make her his best friend. Roxanne has a mid-high to mid-low voice range.

Boyfriend to Laura and team member of the school basketball team, David isn't the most honorable person in the school. He usually looks out for himself and Laura, being cocky about his abilities and his "manliness".  David has a mid-low voice.

  • (worried) Come on Laura, let's go before that monster shows up again.

  • (annoyed/frustrated) She's not even your real sister. Who cares if we leave her here or not, she probably die anyways.
