What is Black Tea?Black Tea is a dark comedy animation/animatic series filled with gore, unwanted organ donations, and much more! The concept is the absolute brainchild of Robyn Snyder (lead animator, artist, and writer) and has been brewing and developing in her noggin for years. The series was officially announced in April 2020 and will be posted on YouTube as an episodic series.
Plot SummaryThe series follows Eren, Dimitri, and Jackie who are one of many mercenary teams for a giant black-market medical company. Jackie is an outcast found in the woods that scoffs at death, Dimitri is a run-away with a lot of baggage, and Eren is his step-brother who followed him and stole his spotlight once again. Their goal is to protect storage sights, collect information, and kill anyone who gets in their way and bring those bodies back with them to put them to good use. In exchange, they get to see the light of day and drink the night away. Together they need to murder people and harvest organs to satisfy their superiors and avoid being the next body on the kill-list.
VA RequirementsWe want equal opportunities for people of all ranges of acting to get some experience! However, there are a few ground rules we need to set:
- 1. Audio quality is a high priority! We don't expect studio-grade (considering this is an unpaid project for the time being) but we would like at least a Blue Yeti with a good environment. That means minimal to no background noise.
- 2. Discord will be important for communication. It will be our go-to place to get into contact with you. We also have a Discord Server to get into better touch with us and fans of the series!
- 3. You may record up to 3 takes per character. We are a bit free form to how the characters will sound as long as it fits the character.
- 4. Name your files accordingly. We'd ask you if you used the format of YourName_CharacterName. This will be especially important if we decide to cast you.
- 5. File format should be either .wav or .mp3
Artist/Animator RequirementsSimilar to the Voice Actors, there are many of you who are looking for experience to hone your craft! But please follow these guidelines:
- 1. Provide a link to any other work you've done. This can be your portfolio, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc. The work can also be either from personal use or works from other projects.
- 2. Discord will also be required!
- 3. Be somewhat knowledgable and proficient in digital art. We know there are many of you who draw on pencil and paper, but that is something we're not looking for at this stage.
Character RolesAs of now, we only have a handful of characters to cast. Later down the line, we will add many more characters (trust me we've got quite a few characters in the pipeline!) So please favorite this page and check back on any new characters that come out.
DeadlinesThere is no set deadline yet for auditions! We will constantly be moving the deadline back.
