Beware! (Working title)

Project Overview

Hello everyone!

For my bachelor’s project, I am creating a 2D animated short film about an axolotl that visits a magic shop—only to encounter its own intrusive thoughts!

I am looking for two voice actors for this project. The voices will primarily be used for indistinct mumbling and various other sounds, as the characters do not communicate using full sentences!

If you’d like to experiment with a wide range of sounds, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

The goal is to complete the project and subsequently submit it to various animation festivals!

You are a small & funny, anthropomorphic axolotl named Kiesel who enters a dangerous magic shop. While on a quest to find a quill, Kiesel becomes caught in a cycle of intrusive thoughts that complicate his search!

The challenge: There is no dialogue in this short film—the characters only mumble or make other sounds to express themselves! If you’re looking for a chance to experiment , this is the perfect project for you!

When you think of Kiesel’s voice, characters like Pikachu or Anya (from Spy x Family) come to mind.

Voice description:
  • cute
  • WOAH!

  • Excited gesticulating accompanied by indistinct mumbling (Kiesel asks the shopkeeper where to find a feather)

  • Frightened whimpering (Kiesel is shocked by his own thoughts)

Malvinius is a grumpy, elderly (yet fit) wizard who runs a shop filled with highly valuable magical items, tucked away in the forest. He isn’t fond of suspicious clientele, so the arrival of a small, chaotic axolotl makes him quite uneasy!

This short film doesn’t feature full, coherent sentences; instead, it requires a variety of grumbling sounds and other vocalizations. If you’re looking for a chance to experiment , this is the perfect project for you!

  • Bored grumbling

  • Angry grumbling

  • Shocked grumbling (who would have thought)
