Belle Automata: Additional Casting
Project Overview
Aureve [renameable] is an android, content with a life of weaving silk tapestries alongside her master in his workshop--but when her master dies, his family sells her off to a wealthy, reclusive buyer due to her being a rogue: a self-aware android.
Thrown into a new home of refuge for rogues, Aureve must find her place amongst them and answer the question once and for all: can an android truly feel?
Hi there! This is a casting call for Jellyfish Parade's newest visual novel, Belle Automata.
There are three roles total and the lines will be fully voiced at the rate of $1 USD per line. All payments are made through PayPal. All of the voice actors will be in the credits page both in-game and on the main itch.io page. The deadline for auditions is January 7th, 2022. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline.
I communicate primarily through Discord.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
Please submit clean recordings (no air conditioners in the background, no fans. Please don't add effects to your lines. Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes.
When cast, please be prepare to submit your recordings as a .wav or .ogg file via email.
If I need a sound redone, I will let you know. If there are multiple takes needed, I will pay additional to cover the time used. Please discuss rates in this case.
Lastly, since additional routes are planned, please be open to more work later this year!

Aureve is the main character, a sentient android who is beginning to learn what it is to be a sentient, sapient being.
[Robotically, without much emotion] "A name is a word or set of words by which a person, animal, place, or thing is known, addressed, or referred to."
[Incredulously, with disbelief] "Rule number 1, I must never try to see the Nightmare Prince. And that's not all. Rule number 7 states that I must never enter the Nightmare Prince's room for any reason."
[Softly, gently, as if talking to a scared animal] I apologize for disturbing you but I admit, I'm curious about you.
Quentis is a shy recluse who hasn't left his home for the past twelve years. He lacks confidence and is quite unsure of himself but is genuinely kind and gentle--unless you invade his privacy. In this case, he becomes quite cold so I wouldn't try it if I were you!
[Worriedly, with concern] Are you... are you alright? Did I say something wrong?
[Softly, hesitantly] You are... gifted. I wish that I could see your work with my own eyes.
[Genuinely surprised, embarrassed] Thank... me? Thank me for what?
Victor is cold and abrupt. Some might even say he is heartless to which he would agree because androids do not have hearts. As the butler to Quentis, Victor is loyal to a fault since he raised Quentis since he was a young boy.
[Firmly, without room for argument] Greeting guests is my duty and mine alone. And you have been greeted. [pause] Now. [pause] On to the rules of the house.
[Matter-of-factly, stiffly] That is a private matter, the details of which are none of your concern.
[Flatly, without surprise] I am trying to get rid of you, that I may clean in peace. So if you would, please go to the garden.
A cheerful android with a blunt streak like nobody's business, Diego is a former caretaker android for children. He's definitely the older brother type of character. While he is warm, his time caring for kids has taught him to become very upfront and forward about his thoughts, and more specifically he has the habit of being brutally honest (accidentally.) In a word, he's completely tactless, haha. Great at explaining things in simple terms and taking care of others, though!
[Worried] "Your framework isn't bent anywhere, is it? Got to be careful around outdated models such as yourself.
[Cheerily] "This could go well, but most likely it'll crash and burn and more or less blow up in your face."
[Surprised] "What was caring for children like?" [Thoughtfully] "Well, lots of vomit, human waste and crying. [Slight laughter] Babies and toddlers can be a nightmare--if, of course, you're not manufactured to have the patience of a saint."
Zaffre is a former virtual popstar turned android after his virtual model is decommissioned in favor of a newer model. He is excitable with a vividly attractive personality. Looking for a genki style voice.
[Suavely] "I'm Zaffre, as I'm sure you know."
Note: Zaffre is pronounced ZAF-FUR.
[In protest] "I've told you! A celebrity does not dirty his hands with menial labor!"
[Reluctantly] "I can't resist the honored request of a lady."
Klaus is an introspective cloudcuckoolander despite his serious appearance. People often think he is deep and serious because he ponders a lot--what they don't know is that he's probably pondering subjects that aren't exactly academic in nature... such as what makes a good pun, what he's going to have for dinner or... why his strawberry crumble always comes out a little burned. (It's because he turns the heat too high and doesn't pay attention.)
[Distractedly] "You'll have to excuse me. I was deep in thought. What were you saying?"
[Thoughtful as if speaking about something extremely serious] "I'm certain one of my feet is bigger than the other, just slightly."
[Quietly, seriously] "I was told that there's an android here that needs a diagnostic."
Roman is the laid back elder brother of the Nightmare Prince character. He is calm and smooth and has an almost snake-like charm since you never know what's up his sleeve. Would love for this role to go to a black VA!
[Warm, Relaxed] "Welcome to House Price. How's your first hour been, little lady?"
[Serious] "You're special. Just like my brother, you're different from the people--or in your case, androids--around you. [laugh] And that's not a bad thing."
[Relaxed] "No need to stand on my account. I just wanted to drop by and check on things."
