Bap Blvd

Bap Blvd

Project Overview

INTRO

Hi there! I'm working on an indie animated series called Bap Blvd. Production of the first batch of episodes is moving along, so I'm opening auditions for the main characters.

Four roommates in modern-day Toronto film a documentary about their everyday lives in an effort to unravel one of life's greatest mysteries - "what the heck are you supposed to do in your mid-twenties?".

This is a slice of life mockumentary that has comedy, romance, and existential crises. The series will feature limited 2D animation and will be uploaded online as a series of short interconnected episodes (approximately 10-30 seconds long).

An example of what an episode looks like (minus sound & subtitles):

DETAILS
  • The series is mostly PG/PG-13, but certain characters will swear, which will be noted in their descriptions.

  • Payment is based on a rate of $4 CAD per line. If the amount of lines ends up higher than the listed amount, the total amount paid will increase based on this rate.

  • Payment will be made through PayPal.

SUBMISSIONS
  • Feel free to submit as many takes as you'd like. If you're submitting multiple takes, please record in ABCABC format.

  • Feel free to audition for multiple characters (please make a separate submission for each one).

  • Please submit clean audio with no background noise/static. The type of mic does not matter as long as the audio quality is good and it is a real mic (aka not a smartphone).

  • Please do not apply any filters or distortions to your audio that affect the sound of your voice.

  • My prefered method of communication is through Discord, but email works too. Please include either your Discord info or email with your submission.

  • Depending on how things go, there may be more episodes produced in the future. If you are not open to voicing the character again at a later date, please make a note of this with your submission.

  • Once the submission deadline closes, I'll make final decisions and will reach out to you if have been selected.

Thanks for reading! Looking forward to hearing your audition!

Latest Updates

  • Info On Final Decisions

Hi! Now that the submission period has ended, I'm working through the shortlist, and will reach out to those who are cast within the next couple days. Still waiting on some callback auditions, so certain characters might take a few more days, but I'll try to have everything finalised within a week.

Just want to say again, massive thanks to everyone who submitted an audition! There are so many incredible auditions, which makes casting really difficult. Also again, thank you for all your kind words about the project, I really appreciate it!

  • Info On Callbacks

Hello! First off, I want to thank everyone who has sent in an audition, you've all done an incredible job! Also thank you for all of your kind words about the project!

Starting from the 17th, I'll be sending the first batch of callbacks to those who were shortlisted before the 17th. There will also be another batch of callbacks sent closer to the deadline (for those who audition on/after the 17th).

As a reminder the final deadline is still the end of May, where I will close off submissions. Final decisions will be made after the deadline.

    Best of luck!

  • (Melancholic) Do you ever feel like life is just… passing you by? Cause I've... never mind. Sorry about that, I don't mean to be a downer.

Early-mid 20's. French-Canadian. (pronounced "klo-ee", aka the same as Chloe)

A burnt-out gifted kid, she dropped out of her software engineering degree after procrastinating for too long. Now she's a low-energy gamer who spends most of her time rotting away in her room. She's overwhelmed with the responsibilities of being an adult.

Number of Lines: Approximately 35 lines.

Accent: Canadian. An Ontario accent with some of a Quebec accent mixed in. (She grew up in Montreal, moved to Toronto when she was a kid)

Additional Notes:

- Despite her expression, she doesn't sound overly mean, rude, or monotonous.

- This role requires speaking in both English and French. The audition lines use curly brackets {} when she is speaking French.

- Kloe does occasionally swear, though she mostly does so in French.

  • (Casual) Can't, busy. I'm in the process of cleaning up my desktop and that's about a month's worth of- oh, you want to run Cloud Gauntlet? Sure, I got time.

  • (Softly) No, I know what I said earlier. Don't... I... look I'm trying, okay? Please.

  • (Bitter) {Câline d'osti de tabarnouche}- whatever, it's fine. Why bother, right?

  • (Casual) So basically yeah, it's like a film about figuring out what the film is going to be. What do you think?

  • (Teasing) No no no, I understand you completely. Honestly, water is a little too spicy.

  • (Troubled) You know, some days I wonder, "am I just going to do same thing over and over again for the next fifty years?"... and other days I'm afraid I already know the answer.
