Baldur's Gate 3: An Original Companion Mod
Project Overview
This project is a passion-driven mod for Baldur's Gate 3, led by Plouton, the lead developer and writer, along with a small team of enthusiastic volunteer contributors. Our focus is to bring Veilyn, an original companion and origin character, into the world of Faerûn, enhancing the player's narrative experience.
At this time, there is only a casting call for the main protagonist, Veilyn, a complex and darkly nuanced character.
However, There will be future opportunities for additional roles as the project expands, and voice actors interested in participating are welcome to submit auditions to be considered for future involvement.
The script is in development, and the mod will be released gradually, starting with Act I, broken into smaller segments. While this project is currently unpaid, there is potential for future Patreon support and possible compensation. We appreciate your interest in helping bring this project to life!
Requirements:Technical Quality: A high level of audio quality is essential. Your microphone should be capable of recording your performance clearly, without picking up overwhelming background noises or excessive peaking/clipping.
Emotional Range: The roles involve characters who emote heavily, including shouting and other loud expressions. A strong ability to convey intense emotions and handle dynamic vocal demands is crucial.
Sound Processing Experience: While not essential, experience in sound processing or audio editing is beneficial. It can help ensure that the final recordings meet the project's quality standards.
Mo-Cap Experience: There may be opportunities to gain experience in motion capture (mo-cap) as the project progresses. While this is not a requirement for initial auditions, interest in this aspect is encouraged.
Commitment: This is a long term project and as such we request that only people who are comfortable committing to a long term collaborative relationship audition for larger roles. If you aren't able to commit long term, we would love to have you contribute through one of the smaller roles with a narrower duration.
Communication: We primarily communicate via Discord, where you'll join our project server for discussions, updates, and collaboration.
Collaboration: Work closely with Plouton to script and introduce your own flair to your character. Your creative input will help shape the character’s interactions and dialogue.
Input on Scenes: Depending on your interest, you'll have the opportunity to provide input on scenes, animations, and plot lines. Your feedback can help influence the overall direction of the mod.
Mature Themes: Please be aware that this project handles mature themes. The narrative and character interactions may involve complex, and sometimes intense, subject matter. As such, we seek individuals comfortable with these themes and capable of approaching them with the necessary sensitivity and professionalism.

Veilyn is the lead role.
He is a young adult male. British English is preferred, however spoken British English with other subtle accents are accepted as English (common) is his second language. Not open to American English.
Veilyn's voice is smooth talking, sarcastic, and charismatic. He has an air of confidence, not in his social status but in his skill. He is down to earth, pragmatic, with a black humor and quick wit. Much of his drow racial arrogance has been sanded down due to decades outside of Menzoberranzan's walls.
Do not feel compelled to read for a "stereotype".
This character role explores a wide emotional range, including fear, horror, affection, rage, grief, sarcasm, seduction. Vulnerability is just as important for this character as his biting wit and bloodthirsty laugh.
Character synopsis: Caught between the whim of a volatile Archfey patron, the death sentence issued by the drow noble house he serves, and now a ravenous mindflayer tadpole, Veilyn wants for nothing but an escape from his masters.
This is a large role with hundreds of unique lines.
This character is a queer character with lines discussing romantic interactions with individuals of all genders.

We are seeking talented voice actors, both male and female, to bring these characters to life. We are accepting all genders, vocal age ranges, and accents. Each role involves delivering fewer than 50 lines, offering a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and engaging project. While prior experience in voice acting is preferred, enthusiasm and a strong ability to convey emotion are key.
