Backlights Studios: Honkai Star Rail Amphoreus Characters Casting

Project Overview

DEADLINE: MARCH 28TH. THE CCC END DATE IS NOT ACCURATE. Please read this description carefully for all the information you might need to audition. If you have any other questions, feel free to DM or leave a comment.

We are Backlights Studios, a fandub studio dedicated to dubbing over fancontent of Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Project Sekai. Here is the link to our Discord server if you would like to join: https://discord.gg/HNWrSyRPwg


This is a special casting call for some of the main Amphoreus cast from Honkai Star Rail. This project is a long-term commitment, though it will be fairly casual and chill. However, we still expect clear communication and professional behavior from team members. This project is unpaid and just for fun.

Note that if you audition for any characters here, you MUST be comfortable with potentially having to voice LGBTQ+ content (i.e. gay ships) if you are cast. If you are NOT okay with potentially voicing LGBTQ+ content, kindly do not audition. This is non-negotiable.

Audition lines may contain spoilers for the HSR quest "Silver Chariot, Away to that Blackened Land".

You may audition for all characters on this casting call, but you CANNOT be casted as multiple characters from this casting call. PLEASE DO NOT DO IMPRESSIONS OF THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH VOICES!!!

Guidelines

  • If you are cast, please be communicative and professional. While this is a casual series, we will not tolerate ghosting the project for an extended period of time without explanation. If you do so repeatedly, you will be recast.

  • You must be 15+ years old. The directors are not comfortable working with anyone under that age. It should also be noted that due to this age specification, there may be minors present in the Backlights Discord. If you are cast, please behave respectfully towards everyone.

  • PLEASE BE COMFORTABLE WITH POTENTIALLY HAVING TO CURSE, OR VOICE IN COMICS WITH SHIPS (including LGBTQ+ ships-Backlights aims to be a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds)! If a comic contains shipping, we will ask the VAs involved if they are comfortable dubbing the content. We will NOT, however, be doing any comics or memes that contain suggestive or NSFW content.

  • No NSFW talk is allowed in the Backlights Discord. Also, please include your Discord handle with your audition.

  • Please have good audio. You do not need a professional-level setup/microphone but we need to be able to clearly understand what you say. No background noise/buzzing, minimal bumps/clicks, etc.

  • I will not tolerate any AI voice auditions. Backlights Studios does not support the usage of generative AI.

Voice direction: a mid to low range masc voice, slightly gravelly and grumpy-sounding. Be ready to potentially be a little loud in comics, since Mydei loves a good fight. DO NOT DO AN IMPRESSION OF GABRIEL WARBURTON!

Firefly is a sweet and helpful young lady who first claims to be a member of Penacony's Iris Family. It is later revealed that she is a member of the Stellaron Hunters who entered the Dreamscape illegally to investigate strange occurrences in Penacony.


Due to her background as a soldier of Glamoth's Iron Cavalry, Firefly suffers from Entropy Loss Syndrome (a chronic illness that wears away at the body over time and causes it to eventually fade into nothingness). She needs to stay in her mechanized suit to survive and is known by the alias SAM, one of the most terrifying members of the Stellaron Hunters.


Voice direction: medium-high to high pitched fem, cheerful, soft, and earnest. Be sure you're capable of sounding battle ready or resolute as well. Please DO NOT do an impression of ANALESA FISHER!

The cold and reserved train guard and archivist of the Astral Express. Wielding a spear named Cloud-Piercer, he joined the Express crew to escape his secluded past. He has the "Imbibitor Lunae" form; Dan Heng's true Vidyadhara form, revealed after accepting the residual powers from the previous reincarnation of "Imbibitor Lunae." Upon accepting the majestic horns atop his crown, he must accept all the merits and faults attributed to that person.

Voice direction: a mid range masc voice, with a sort of awkward yet serious kind of energy. He doesn't tend to speak much, and tends to be straightforward with his words. DO NOT DO AN IMPRESSION OF NICHOLAS LEUNG!
