Project Overview
Fandub of the wonderful comic; Ava's Demon!
Ava's Demon is a webcomic written and drawn by Michelle Czajkowski. The comic, which has been ongoing since 2012!
Requirements:
Guidelines:
- You must have an account on Casting Call Club and A Discord!
- To audition you must be at least 17 years old.
- We will not be accepting auditions in any other form, they must be on Call Club.
- We are looking for good mic quality, minimal background noise please!
- You can audition for more than one role.
- Please have a semi-decent knowledge of the comic! (If you would like to read up it will be here: LINK)
- This project will be going on for a while! So please plan to be apart of it for some time!\
- If you would like to be a siderole, background character let me know and shoot me a message! We will need several people in the background and for small filler characters.
Reminders:
- Please keep in mind to take your time and ensure that we hear your best! Turn off fans and record in a quiet room if you can, and always be sure to add emotion!
- I highly recommend looking at the comic pages we pulled the lines from to get context!
- You are also allowed to read the lines a few times in the audition file giving them more or less emotion. Play around with it!
What you can Audition with:
- If you feel like there are other parts of that character that bring out more emotion that you are aware of, then read them!
- You do not have to read just the lines given to you! You are more then welcome to read other bits and parts of the comic!
- The only thing that we do ask is that you do at least read what we give you first, and then add on whatever else you would like to!

Thank you all for auditioning for this project! There is a lot of talent, and it is making it really hard for me to narrow down on just ONE of you for a role. Ava Ire is a 15 year old girl and the protagonist of the story, currently pactedwith the demon Wrathia Bellarmina.
The name "Ava" can have the meaning bird, desired, and life, all of which seem to relate to Ava's aspirations for herself as shown when making the pact. Michelle Czajkowski has also stated that she liked the name Ava "...because it sounded vaguely like Alice and was hoping to give the feel of a standard young heroine." Her last name "Ire" means "intense anger or wrath" , which is another association with her demon. Ava Ire also has a resemblance to "Lava Fire", but without the first letters.
Ava has a lot of difficulty associating herself with those around her. This mainly has to do with Wrathia scaring away everyone that ever cared about her or everyone she ever cared about. She has a very hard time in crowded areas and tight spaces as well. Despite her social anxiety, however, she shows bravery when doing things she feels passionate about, such as going after Odin after he abducted Maggie during her unconscious state, as well as threatening Wrathia for tricking her.
While Ava is a generally kind character, her kindness is not something that should be taken lightly. Ava can be quite harsh to those who have wronged her or hurt her in the past, including Wrathia and Odin. Even in her rage, however, she can sometimes catch herself in her words when she hurts someone else's feelings, often later claiming she was 'just mad'. Wrathia is an exception, though, as Ava hasn't seemed to feel any remorse for insults towards Wrathia, rather understandably so.
"Hey now!! You're asking a lot of me, you know?! I mean, what do you expect me to do? Walk up to a bunch of strangers and say... "I see you have an ugly alien's ghost plaguing you! Wow, me too! Let's form a resistance and kill the most powerful being in the universe."
"Sorry for being born...?" *Annoyed sigh* "You keep saying "pact" Like I know what it means. Well that sucks because I have no desires! Except maybe to get rid of YOU.- Wait I...I lied. I do have a desire. Whenever you left me alone for extended periods of time, I used to daydream. I used to dream about what it would be like if I could make friends...fall in love......What would it be like to enjoy waking up. I daydreamed about pushing a button that would make life worth living. That's my desire; I want a new life a second chance. Can you give me that?"
"Yeah...I didn't die by one of your Crazy suicides! I wanted to die, but not in that way...I'm so glad I did! It...it doesn't make a difference to anyone but....But that's what scared me. With your help, I've driven everyone away that ever cared about me. At least with a horrible accident like this one...Someone is bound to find my body and care a little. And perhaps that person would think nice things about me...like that maybe I didn't deserve to die. Besides why are you so upset....you get a second chance anyway."

Maggie Lacivi

Maggie Lacivi is a former classmate and friend of Ava Ire. She is pacted with the demon Tuls Tenebrose. She has powerful plant-like abilities and can make her appendages morph into strong, tree-like vines.
Maggie is short for Magnolia, a type of flower. "Lacivi" is a variation of the word "lascivious" which means "flirty" or "lustful". Apt, since her associated sin is lust.
Maggie is rude, confrontational, egotistical, and downright hostile. However, Ava mentions that she wasn't always this way; something that happened between them in the past harshly changed her personality. They both blame Ava for whatever happened, and Maggie has hated her ever since. However, Maggie keeps a small photograph of her and Ava as children in the cabinet embedded in her stomach, implying that she may still care for her former friend deep down.
In spite of her hostile personality traits, Maggie falls in love very quickly and develops a crush on Gil Marverdealmost at first sight, calling him her "prince". As he is the sixth person she's developed such a crush on, it can be surmised that she is somewhat emotionally immature and cannot restrain her emotions. She even forces Tuls to use his magic to create a special flower that will help the object of her affections "uncover the desire to be her significant other".
Although Maggie has formed a pact with Tuls, she is thoroughly unconcerned about what he wants and seems only to care about what she can get with his power. She deliberately and carelessly harms his creations, constantly belittles him, and has ignored his desire to reunite with his beloved Ranunculae for four years. This carelessness may be because she is not fully aware of what will happen if the pact fails, perhaps because she is unable to take things as seriously as she should.
Lust, the sin of deep obsession, is associated with Maggie which is reflected in her near-instant flirty attitude towards Gil and her desire to be loved in return. Maggie's clingy tendencies can be interpreted as a stigma of depression and abandonment.
The pupil shape chosen for Maggie is a triangle to represent her sharpness, providing contrast for Ava, whose pupil is a circle. Michelle describes this "....as if [Maggie] is striving to become everything Ava could not; the sharpest shape against the softest."
"Ugh wow. I can't even study for more than five minutes. You must be, like, super smart. Why the heck would you waste so much down time doing all this work for titan anyway?- Oh? what will you ask him? Something about your home planet right? Or about your parents? Maybe they're still alive. I guess there's a lot of pressure since you only get to ask ONE question. Though I would probably just ask him why his schools suck so hard."
"I WAS NEARLY KIDNAPPED! DON'T YOU CARE THAT I'M BEING STALKED?!" *very condescending* "Remember when we used to be Friends?! Is this Jogging your memory!?"
"Geez...i didnt know this titan guy was so...um...eeeeeee yeaaah. Dang! Those were all the words I was about to say! Well gosh.. If what you say is true...then..Titan is really amazing. So being a follower or a soldier is like...a job helping him with all his work or what?"

Odin Arrow is first introduced as a classmate of Ava Ire and Maggie Lacivi, however from a different planet. The cover of a student was a facade. His demon is Pedri Nanezgani, and they are not pacted. He speaks with a noticeable stutter that worsens when nervous. He claims to be 16, but is actually 17 going on 18. According to his sisters, Crow and Raven, he is the most "stupid" of the Arrow siblings. This may be because of his speech impediment.
Odin's associated sin is Pride. Odin has displayed this trait numerous times before, such as refusing to apologize to Maggie even if it meant crashing into TITAN's training planet. He also refuses to shake Gil'shand, feeling that it's 'below him'; this could also be related to Gil's status as a follower, and Odin's personal dislike of TITAN.
He can be insensitive at times, yet he still is able to see and understand when someone is upset or distraught. After Ava falls from the tree branch, Odin gives her his jacket, possibly feeling guilty for how he was treating her. He also seems to be strategically minded, shown in his attempt to get Ava to hijack the TITAN ship and escape with him as well as their escape from the refugee center.
He also seems to have a more playful, teasing side, particularly towards Ava, who he seems to get along with despite their arguments. It was also stated that Odin lacks a lot of self confidence in himself and is very insecure. Odin's chosen shape is a square representing his stoic and unyielding personality.
Even with Odin being both insensitive and abrasive towards others, he still is known to be somewhat self-conscious. This is seen when he reacts embarrassed and saddened by Ava telling him that he smells bad. This also becomes clear when Crow and Raven begin to tease him and remind him about his failure of bringing Maggie to his home planet. Please Note that he stops stuttering when he is lying.
"H-Hey! Y-You n-need to listen to me..."
"M-my home...isn't much of a home. Well there's h-h-hardly a civilization on m-my planet s-s-so it's kind of d-difficult h-having to life there- Well N-no....not r-really...n-not anymore- Well- It's...It's n-not really a house. Y-yes-I mean n-no! m-My brother gave me that vessel s-s-so- I w-w-wasn't visiting your planet for schooling. I had to lie about m-myself and m-my age. My sisters told me to say I was "s-sixteen" if anyone asked. I actually only s-studied a little basic Titantime to b-b-blend in."
"Th-There's n-nothing to go b-back to...! Ye...Your planet was destroyed b-by silent sc-scavengers!" *His throat is being coiled by vines if you would like to add more of a struggle to his stutter*

Gil Marverde

Gil Marverde is the inhabitant of a nearby planet, where he has been training to become a doctor in TITAN's army. His demon is Nevy Nervine. Gil appears to be a different race or species than the other characters.
He is 19 years old and his first name is likely a connection to the gills of a fish, as he is highly associated with the element of water. The term "mar" in his name helps the connection between him and water, since it means "sea" in Portuguese and Spanish. The "verde" part of his last name is a reference to the term "green with envy" as "verde" means "green" in Portuguese and Spanish, and his demon is associated with envy. Alternately, his whole full name, "Marverde", means "Green sea".
Gil is very kind and caring towards others. He is also very educated, having been raised in a TITAN private school. His kind nature tends to make him very naive and credulous, rarely expecting others to have ulterior motives, as seen in his interactions with Maggie Lacivi.
Gil decided to become a doctor, so that he can help others, the followers and TITAN's cause for saving him when he was a child.
Due to the fact that Gil was saved by TITAN soldiers when he was a young boy, during the destruction of his planet by the scavengers, and being raised in a TITAN school, Gil is incredibly faithful to TITAN. He hardly questions the harm that's befallen Maggie Lacivi and Ava Ire under TITAN rule. For example, when Maggie explained to Gil that TITAN separated her, Ava Ire, and all the other children from their families, Gil immediately looks for a justification. He assumes that Ava and Maggie's parents are safe, elsewhere. When others question the reality of TITAN, or his Paradise, Gil believes in every aspect of TITAN and shown to act angry and defensive towards those who mention it. Gil may also harbor doubts about TITAN himself, but refuses to show it.
Gil's pupil shape is a diamond or a rhombus, which is similar to Odin Arrow's square. This could be because they see the same things but interpret them in different ways.
"Oh! Hey! I didn't see you there, Nevy...Yes, Navy, I Promise I'll ask Titan about you."
"Well it's sort of my house; this is a planet for titan trainees. This house was only assigned to me to study in. I'll be leaving it All behind today. I've completed my training you know. He is truly a magnificent being. Titan is the source of all life, including you and I. He is always watching over the universe and it's life forms. He's helped millions of people with his technology and scientific discoveries...rescuing those in pain and in need. Titan knows the secret to immortality and eternal happiness."
"Ah! Look Nevy! She's Breathing! I want to help her!- You should explore the ship for others!- What...What kind of doctor would I be if I just left them to die? Nevy, please...don't be so dramatic. I can take care of myself. There might be people on that ship who need our help.I promise this won't ruin our plans. By tomorrow night I'll be an official soldier...and you will be one step closer to finding out who you were."

Wrathia Bellarmina is a Vengess, former queen of an intergalactic empire and the wife of Pedri. After her death, her soul attached to Ava Ire. She is usually drawn with an orange or red color theme, similar to Ava. When she is not drawn as a ghost, she is often seen smoking a pipe of Florem Mortem. Her first name "Wrathia" is an obvious reference to her associated sin, wrath. Her last name is likely a connection to Bellona, the Roman goddess of war.
Wrathia is a very harsh, commanding demon, fitting with her sin, wrath. She has a quick temper, but is equally quick to calm down. She is willing to do anything for the sake of what she wants, even if she destroys someone's life in the process. In addition, she will omit information if it is deemed necessary to achieve her goals. She is a violent person, and represents battle and warfare, although she is in no way a strategic person. At the same time, Wrathia loves her husband very much and values her relationship with him very highly.
Wrathia loves luxury and to pamper herself. She likes to wear makeup and intricate clothing, preferring to indulge herself and relax in her spare time.
"Seriously? You're Crying!? Those better be tears of joy, because that was a that was a terrible Planet." "Eehehehe...Nothing like Gravity to knock the sad out of you, huh?"
"I was the queen of a prosperous homeland. I reigned over hundreds of galaxies. I was one of the most powerful beings in the universe...As was my husband, Pedri...we were....Almost unstoppable. We even had an heir to our throne. It was paradise until...that fated day when we were finally challenged....A creature calling itself titan had taken hostage every one of our galaxies in a single night...With it's massive army of followers. The message was asking us to join him willingly and give him the power over the empire...Or he would destroy every last planet and take us as prisoners. I was livid with the idea of surrendering. But it seemed I had no choice if I wanted to keep our empire alive. Amidst my rage, my husband said something alarming. So I came up with a plan. IF we couldn't claim victory in life...We would claim victory in death."
"Are...Are you telling me...that you've foiled my every attempt to off you....Practically...you WHOLE life....Simply because you didn't want to 'DIE IN THAT WAY?!' What difference does it make to anyone whether or not you take your own life, Ava!? If you hadn't ignored me you would know how important I am to this current universe! I have UNFINISHED BUSINESS that will never be taken care of! Your death was the last option I had to END my time in your prison of a body, and you denied me this freedom for 15 years! For your own selfish reasons!"

Nevy is a kind-hearted woman who has become strongly attached to Gil Marverde, the only person in the world who can see her and keep her company. She is aware of his naivete and is highly protective of him, warning him that Ava Ire, Maggie Lacivi, and Odin Arrow could be dangerous and begging him to flee at the first sign of trouble. As her associated sin is envy, she may have felt threatened by the trio, especially by the flirtatious Maggie. Nevy repeatedly tries to take Gil's attention away from Maggie and urges him to make her leave, objecting highly to his suggestion of taking the three with him to TITAN's headquarters.
Nevy has amnesia of her past life and is very interested in recalling her memories. She constantly reminds Gil that he has promised to ask TITAN about her life and is terrified that he won't do so. Interestingly, the sight of Odin reminds her of the sensation of being in love.
"Titan is the "all knowing" one you talk about...right, Gil?...So! if they recruit you...we can ask Titan about my past! And how I died! Right? Titan will know those things?"...."Promise me we'll ask Titan?""
"What?! We don't even know if they're friendly, Gil..." *sigh* "You can't be this nice to strangers, Gil. You're gonna get hurt. I don't wanna lose you to a bunch of criminals. We should just leave now and get a head start on our trip...I'll be right back. Don't get hurt while I'm gone!!""
"WRATHIA BELLARMINA! Vengess Queen of the Cursed-! Traitor to your people! Traitor who killed thyself in cowardice- While rivers of blood flowed through the ruins of her empire! As the highest priestess between this and the universe and the metachaos of the four creators- On behalf of the oceanic domains ruled by the biofluxite covetess prophets- I, Nevy Nervine will make sure your soul answers to all the highest deities of the timeless void!!! Tuls' associated sin is lust. He is shown to admire and revere Ranunculae, spending his time in Maggie's mind painting her obsessively. He seems to have a very melancholy attitude and generally appears to be more calm.
His name, Tuls, is an anagram of lust, his associated sin. His last name, Tenebrose, probably comes from the combination of words "rose" and "tenebrous", meaning dark or gloomy, as Tuls seems to be quite a melancholy character so far.
"Oh....Hi Magnolia. I didn't hear you come in. How...are you?...I hope for the pact's sake you're right. I would very much like to see Ranunculae soon. Four...Four long years, Magnolia...I'm worried sick about her...I hope she's alright. Should you fail? A failed pact is not something you should take lightly...That isn't the issue. Thinking back...to that day....I think there's more than being "stuck" with each other...but I-Well we were never able to talk much."
"After this, You might need to complete the full pact yourself. I've done all I can. I'm getting weaker with every passing day. If I do this for you...It might be the last time before I run out of magic completely. You know that, don't you?"
"Knock it off, Ava! Can't you see that you're scaring him!? You've given Gil more than enough grief for one day!...Gross- Don't ever agree with me again- Is she....? She's not even listening."

Pedri's associated sin is most likely pride, based on his name. He is a good strategist, advising Wrathia that their surrender might not equal their survival, and since Michelle has revealed that Wrathia is bad at strategy, Pedri was most likely in charge of this department. The fact that he wears the skull of Wrathia's former husband could be a manifestation of his pride.
"HAAAAH!!! Extraordinary!! Oh the Grave you have dug for yourself."
"Looks as if the better part of my wife's death slime has coated chemistry of that bipedal lamprey after all."

Strategos Six

Strategos Six is a lifeform within Ava's Demon. Not much is known about them except that they work for TITAN as his second in command.
On the outside, Strategos Six appears to be a charming, loving Follower who wants nothing but the best for their loyal followers. They assure their audience that they would never lie to them and that TITAN is the "best thing they'll ever have", and manipulates their audience into believing them.
However, Strategos Six is much more than they seem. They get annoyed easily, and don't have much sympathy for low level followers -as shown by their treatment of Ava, who they believe to be a new follower. They also seem to be able to zero in on insecurities, with just a glance being able to tell that Ava is not only sad, but friendless and lonely.
"Yes, thank you! Thank you all for coming out here today!"
"My loyal followers, titan incorporated welcomes all of you back...to the bi-annual showcasing of our latest and greatest achievements."
"They've taken us and driven us. Oohhh how we've tried to give them a new beginning...But it's too late for them now. The only thing we can do is hope...That spreading the word- The word which states..."Titan will bring to paradise only his most righteous and dedicated..."We need to prey that spreading titan's word will vanquish these criminals. These heartless destroyers, murderers, defectors. We need to stand up to them and say: "Titan will leave you without paradise and you will pay for your crimes."

Ravenia Arrow, also known as Raven, is Magpie's sister, Odin and Olai's younger sister, and the twin of Crow. Raven is the more childish, impulsive Arrow twin. She complains that Crow is often given more responsibility, despite that they are twins and should be treated with equal capability and intelligence.
She seems to enjoy teasing her siblings, as well as instigating fights between them.
"Crow, If you and Olai had just listened to me, we couldn't be here. Hey crow...psst...Hey!!! Who gave that to you? Does he think I'm stupid? Is that it? He thinks I'm dumber than my own twin sister?! I could handle these things if he just gave me a shot."
"Waah!! It's...It's snowing!?..Haha Oh...I didn't think scavengers were able to attack the HQ- Huh? really? You don't think Odin had something to do with it, do you? Uhg...Do we gotta? I mean- I guess so, I just hope he's not in one of his 'moods' "
"Gods!! Merita, I said you could call me 'Raven!....Crow!!! EW!! Merita, just make sure Olai actually sends a ship, okay!?"

Crowlie Arrow, also known as "Crow" is the sister of Magpie, the younger sister of Olai and Odin, and the twin of Raven. Crow seems to be more focused and serious than her twin sister, Raven.
Her relationship with her older brother Odin is obviously disdainful or rebellious. She doesn't appear to respect her brother, calling him the stupidest Arrow sibling.
Despite her apparent maturity in contrast to Raven, she acts quite childishly at times: she becomes flustered when Raven mentions the girl she likes and when Odin protests that she's still too young to date, she defends herself with childlike scornful mockery.
"Uhg...Raven, Just....just shut up and keep watch Odin... AH! GOT IT! Finally...." "Raven, C'mon!! Before the boss gets pissed. Heh- Not as stupid as Odin. Maybe he would if, you weren't such a whiny."
"It's obviously ash, Raven. It's sweltering in here....Everything is toast from whatever exploded us into the next dimension. I'm not so sure it was scavengers...I;m not sure about that Either...but this is the perfect time to call Olai and find out what's going on! We have to report Odin, anyways."
"Merita, just make sure Olai actually sends a ship, okay?! We're counting on you. Oh, well when he comes back can you please ask him to dispatch a drone to the HQ that we can pilot home? Our last one was just obliterated by something strange.- Thanks a bunch Merita! Oh! Wait! I have one last thing I wanted to ask you! Did you still wanna'...Go explore abandoned houses with me later?! We could bring rocks and break windows and stuff!"
