Winter is a first-year student with the power of ghosts. She can gain visions of someone’s death, fly, and phase through walls. Winter doesn’t enjoy talking about the origin of her abilities and is actually quite reserved when discussing her powers. Despite her reserved nature, her friends bring out the best in her. And she never hesitates to stick up for herself or people she cares about.
Her voice should be a medium pitch, not too low but not too high either.
(upset/angry) (scoffs) Supernatural beings? See, that’s the whole problem with this school. You don’t even treat us like we’re human. That’s why there’s something wrong with this place.
Listen, the first day he said he wouldn’t be taking attendance. That class is completely optional in my head.
Mom…come on. I can tell when you’re hiding something.
Arden is a first-year student with the power of Emotional Manipulation. He can simply change how someone feels by looking at them. Arden is a Class Representative for Student Council and quite popular at Arcadia, but when he’s not socializing with other cliques, he loves to spend time with his friends. However, he can be a semi-control freak at times, but he always means well.
His voice should be medium pitched or medium-low pitched.
You know what, that’s actually very valid. But, uh, didn’t Professor Illya’s class start 15 minutes ago? Aren’t you in her 10 am?
(exasperated) For the last time, it wasn’t me.
(confident) Come on, don’t worry about it! Everyone loves me. I’m sure once they realize we worked on this thing together, they are bound to love it!
Ryder is a first-year student with the power of time manipulation. Essentially, he can freeze time for however long he wants. He has yet to figure out how to reverse or fast-forward it, though. He’s on the quieter side, but was super grateful that his roommate, Cassian, introduced him to the group, and now they’re his closest confidants. With a heart as pure as gold, Ryder does his best to help those in need.
His voice should be medium-pitched.
I don’t know. Eli’s always been a down-to-earth dude whenever I spoke to him, I don’t think he’d lie about something like this.
Okay, maybe don’t call her an asshole.
Don’t get me wrong, I know how this all looks, but I swear our intentions weren’t bad.
Sera is a first-year English student and Macy’s roommate, with the power to mirror others' abilities. Through touching them, she can temporarily use their powers, although her ability is limited. Sera is a very creative, intelligent student, who takes her studies seriously, but also enjoys a good party every now and then. Her friends are her safe-space, and she loves sharing her ideas for her next book with them.
Sera’s voice should be medium or high-pitched.
I’m not going to get like, kicked out, or anything, am I?
I…don’t think “smart powers” are a thing Macy.
(frustrated) I know! I swear, we get to this class, and you’re a whole different person.
Macy is a first-year Political Science student and Sera’s roommate with the power to manipulate light. Her feisty personality and heightened sense of justice make her well-known across the school. As Student Council Secretary and the President’s Intern, she makes waves across the school. With a deep care for her friends, she jumps at the chance to defend them, but also herself, never backing down on her gut or getting her way.
Macy’s voice should be medium or high-pitched.
This is ridiculous, I want my lawyer!
I think she’s jealous cause she was never that good at your age. She’s just a bitter old woman.
I don’t want her fired. I want her to be put in her place! Justice!
Lia is a first-year Music Student and Winter’s roommate, with the power to manipulate sound waves. She’s a calm spirit, becoming angry only when she feels her work is threatened. A kind soul, she has greatly helped Winter adjust to Arcadia, as her brother went to the University, so she knew what to expect. Lia is sort of a mediator of the friend group, encouraging shenanigans, but only to an extent.
Lia’s voice should be medium or low-pitched.
(outraged) She told me I need to practice more for our recital. Me! Of all people??
(gentle) By the way, I made breakfast, it’s on the counter if you want some. I’m about to head to the Arts Bulding for my Violin Lessons.
(softly) Yeah, this is crazy.
Cassian is a first-year Biology student and Ryder’s roommate, with the power to manipulate things on a molecular level. Cassian is a total nerd, especially when it comes to Science. But when it comes to his friends, he tries his best to be the level-headed, almost dad-like figure he feels his chaotic friends need. He’s always there to lend a helping hand, even if he doesn’t have the time.
Cassian’s voice should be medium-pitched.
That and molecular reconstruction on that level is virtually impossible.
(stern) Macy. You’re always trying to get someone fired.
(nervous) Uh…that part is a little more hard to explain.
Eli is a second-year Philosophy student and Treasurer of the Student Council with the power to shapeshift. After a freak accident, he quickly becomes the center of the school’s attention and a close confidant for Winter. With a charismatic and down-to-earth personality, Eli is just a cool guy.
Eli’s voice should be medium to high-pitched.
Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Charity Fundraiser of the year!
Calm down man, I promise you this will all work out.
Hey! You forgot the- (sighs) nevermind.
Professor Calypso is an old professor, perhaps centuries old, with a stern but kind attitude. Not a whole lot is known about him, not even his powers. But his students know better than to get on his bad side. He teaches in the Science and Mathematics department.
His voice should be low-pitched.
Alright. Everyone, try to wrap up your experiments in the next 15 minutes. We’ll go over your upcoming reports afterwards.
I understand your anxiety Ms. Lyre, but you must know that these things require patience.
(urgent) Students! Get inside now!
Professor Fiera is a middle aged professor with the ability to absorb knowledge, a walking dictionary if you will. She deeply cares for her students, wanting to encourage their creativity while also providing structure. She teaches in the Literature and History Department.
Her voice should be medium or low-pitched.
Everyone, please turn to page 50 of “Lessons from a 17th Century Mage.” Now, if you have completed your reading, who can tell me what the significance of the solstice is?
Ms. Castillo, a pleasure to see you in my office. What can I help you with?
(nervous) I believe you two have uncovered something…very unsettling. You may be in grave danger.
Professor M is a strange professor. Those who are in his classes either say he makes them feel uneasy or that he’s the best professor ever. He teaches across departments, helping with Art Class or Herbs 101 for a semester here or there, but he mainly teaches Anatomy and Astronomy. He has the power of memory manipulation, leading many to believe he’s untrustworthy.
His voice should be low-pitched.
Welcome to my favorite class! Astronomy! While we will be learning about important Physics principles, we’ll also be taking routine trips over to our planetarium during the length of this course.
Eli, I believe you're showing a great amount of promise, young man.
Ms. Trent. I should've known it was you snooping around my office. Tell me, did you find what you were looking for?
This role is for female and male extras! We would need about 3 female voices and 3 male voices.
Aw man! They forgot my drink!
Professor M creeps me out, seriously man, how do you enjoy that class?
You're not excited?? Come on! It will be so much fun!
