Ao Haru Ride - Fandub
Project Overview
Hello! - I'm looking for actors and actresses that can help bring this full series fandub of Ao Haru Ride to life! I've been wanting to dub this anime for a while now so I look forward to all of your auditions.
I ask that before you audition that you ask yourself, "Will I be dedicated enough not to drop out mid-way through the project?" and "Do I have enough time in my schedule to not miss the deadline if I'm casted?"
Finding replacements is a director's least favorite thing in the entire world!
Plot: Futaba Yoshioka wants to "reset" her life. In junior high, girls ostracized Futaba because too many junior high boys liked her. The only boy Futaba liked, Kou Tanaka, moved away before she could tell him how she felt. Now in high school, Futaba is determined to fit in with all the other girls. She acts unladylike so her new friends won't become jealous of her. While living her new life contentedly, she meets Kou again, but he now uses the name Kou Mabuchi and has a cold attitude. He tells her that he liked her too in junior high, but feels differently now.

Yuri's high school life is parallel to Futaba's middle school life. She is very cute, causing her to be despised by many girls in her class, and she is often left alone. Yuri gets by very well, however, for she prefers to be hated for who she truly is than to be liked for someone she isn't. Yuri and Futaba soon become best friends.
Voice: High
[Confident] Different people have different perspective. So, I won’t deny the fact that some people are annoyed with the way I am. In exchange for those negative feelings, I just want to be the person that I am in love with the most.
[Upset, Hesitant] Even though I put in so much effort, it’s no use at all… but… If I don’t say something now, someday… I’m going to be jealous of Futaba-chan and become someone annoying.
[Protesting, Exclaiming] I know very well that I always appear to be acting all cutesy in front of guys…! Even when I’ve annoyed everyone… I just end up becoming pretentious because I’m extremely nervous with them.
Outgoing and spontaneous, Aya seems to be the only character without social problems. He is very open, caring, and sometimes even dense. He has an unrequited crush on Shuuko. Aya harbors a hatred for Tanaka-sensei, and initially did not like Kou due to his relation to him. Eventually Kou and him become close friends. He is good at mathematics.
Voice: Medium
[Fierce, Stern] Get it through your head that it’s not anyone’s fault. Don’t force sympathy. Don’t comfort that way.
[Sympathetic] Even if you aren’t over-protective that much, isn’t it okay? Having someone with the same situation as you, I understand the feeling of wanting to do something for that person, but… at a new school, in a new environment; I think it would also be good for that person to establish new relationship.
[Pissed] If you let Murao get ideas to her head and then hurt her, you're really going to pay for it.
Much like Yuri, Shuuko is another "lone wolf". She is very beautiful but has a cold exterior that drives others away. Due to experiences in middle school, Shuuko fails to trust girls. She has been in love with Tanaka-sensei, Kou's older brother, since her first year of high school after attending a guidance session between the two of them. Eventually, her trust in female relationships was restored after becoming friends with Futaba and Yuri.

[Motivational, Passionate] The feeling of not wanting to lose, everyone has it. If you find it unfair, you’ll have to work harder yourself.
[Kind] Thank you for telling me about Tanaka-sensei. But, I'm going to give this chocolate to you, Kominato-kun. Here, this is from me.
[Soft, Quiet] There are lots of instances where sympathy turns into love.
During his time in middle school with Futaba, Kou Tanaka was rather small and gentle. In highschool, he is no longer "Kou Tanaka" but now referred to as "Kou Mabuchi". His personality has also taken a turn, for he is now more masculine, sarcastic, and crude. In addition, he has extremely pessimistic views about his brother and himself. Despite these changes, Kou remains a kind person.
Voice: Medium (Must be able to perform a fairly higher voice for his middle-school self.)
[Cold, Harsh] It is for that reason that your relationship with friends is loose. Those people are just pretending to be friends with you. How foolish.
[Blunt] We can no longer go back, I’m totally different from that person in the past. - You too. It was just a brief reminiscing of our past, that’s all.
[Caring, Gentle] You got lost in pursuing your goal. I guess you were working so hard, you lost sight of it.
Since middle school, Futaba has always believed that boys were too rough and violent. Kou Tanaka was the only exception, and Futaba wanted to know him better. In high school, Futaba's character is drastically different. No longer feminine or cute, she makes herself as unattractive as possible. Futaba was an outcast in middle school because the girls were jealous of her popularity with boys. Although Futaba is strong-willed, stubborn, and passionate, she prefers to be accepted for who she isn't than ostracized for who she is.

[Angry, Standing-Up] If you keep bad-mouthing someone, you might feel like as if you are on a higher position than that person. But in actual fact, its completely wrong to do that!
[Encouraging] If you lose something big, that nothing can replace it... Then it’s okay if you have more than one, right? Even if the number is small, whether it’s ten or a hundred, if you gather them up then you will have a reason to go on!
[Irritated, Harsh *then* Soft, Sweet] I disliked boys more and more after middle school started. I mean they’re violent, and noisy, and uncivilized in the general. But, in their midst… is Tanaka-kun, from the neighboring class. He’s different somehow. He has a small build and his voice, rather than low and rough, is clearer and smooth, like a girl’s. I guess that’s why… I’m okay with him.
