VOICE ACTORS SELECTED AND MESSAGED - Anime Convention Cosplay Contest Performance - Audio
Project Overview
Thank you everyone who applied! After about a week of deliberation and a voice-chat, we have selected our final voice actors. We appreciate everyone who applied and had a hard time selecting our final VAs. For many roles it came down to whose voice we felt would fill the event space the best as well as whose voice melded best with the other selected VAs. There are many applicants that we liked and quite a few finalists that we listened to multiple times over and over, but alas we had to select only one per role.
For those selected, we will be messaging you soon as well as creating Discord chats so that we can send the script your way.
We are looking for voice actors for the audio backing of our 3 minute cosplay contest skit (for a late-August anime convention).
The script is not completed yet, so we will be selecting voice actors on July 7th then messaging lines a later date (July 21st at latest). As a fair portion of the 3 minute skit will be silent/music, we do not expect any role to have more than 10 or so lines.
Timeline
June 22: Application deadline
July 7: Final voice-actors selected and contacted
July 21: The latest we'd send the voice-lines by. After lines are sent (on 21st or earlier) we request final recordings be sent in within 1 week (so Jul 28th at the latest, as we need time to combine and mix the audio).
August 24: If our skit application is accepted, we will be performing on this day. Live-streams of the event are not available, sadly.
Specifications
-Audio quality provided (during both applications and for the final recordings if selected) should be crisp with very little to no background noise. The final video/audio will be blasted out of speakers within either a 45,000 or 80,000 square foot room with concrete-floors and 16 feet to 19 feet tall ceilings. All recordings will have to be as clear as possible, otherwise the audience will have difficulty understanding the words spoken. Clarity of the recording and lack of background noise will be a big part of the audition process and final recordings. We would prefer WAV files, but MP3s are also fine.
-We plan to conduct communication via Discord, so please have an account that we can contact should you be selected (either commented in the application or provided privately after selection via CCC's messaging).
-There will be no lip-flaps that you have to directly match, so there is leeway in your pacing/delivery. Although, we plan to have music setting the pace for the video, so your lines will have to fit within a certain time range (we will send you audio of the music so you have a guide of how much time is available for your lines/their speed).
Payment
Payments will be made through PayPal or Venmo upon delivery of lines. If you would feel more comfortable with a deposit/partial payment upfront, that can be discussed.
Notes
This project is being created before the end of the application period for the chosen cosplay contest. We are planning to record everything ahead of time, so regardless of if we are selected to perform or not, you will be paid.
If we are selected to perform, please note that because this project is for a convention cosplay competition we will be unable to announce selected voice actors’/composer's names to the general public during the event itself. Should the contest be recorded and published to YouTube, we will be more than happy to leave a comment on the uploaded video mentioning the voice actors and composer that made our skit possible.
