Anime Abridged: Manaria Friends, Boogiepop, Asobi Asobase

Project Overview

**Most roles contain sexually explicit lines, very heavy sexual innuendo, swearing, etc. Email me if this is a problem**

Starting up my fourth/fifth/sixth anime abridgment projects. *The VA'ing period will be open from around March 8th-> end of March (more details once auditions end).

I'm looking for VA who can take on a multitude of roles across these concurrent projects. I'm aiming for ~10 minute videos, posted to youtube and potentially other sites. Scripts will be prepared and distributed via google docs (example). The more voicetypes and roles a VA can take, the better. The intent is for each VA to take on a full page of lines spanning the 3 projects. Expected time per VA: ~2 hours minimum (1-2 sittings). VA will have their names included within the credits of the video, and links to their pages/info as desired displayed in the description etc. Email me (cerbyo at gmail dot com), or post in the comments below any concerns, questions. Lines for all projects will be prepared for the same time. Anyone who auditions will be considered for every role of their gender-type. If you are unwilling to take on multiple roles, or want to stick to 1 abridgment, please relay this intent in the comments or via email. Just please note lines/offerings could be very limited. Similarly if you wish or are willing to take more lines than an even distribution would otherwise allow, please note so somewhere so I know, this would be very welcome as it would allow more legroom in the role distribution. Only the primary roles will be listed for audition, lesser roles will be splitup/assigned between those chosen in the manner aforementioned.

Requirements:

-an actual microphone (~snowball quality or better)

-usage of: viewing google docs (no signup or anything), one of the voip options (rabbit, ts, jitsu, riot, qtox, etc) (no skype/discord), email (preferably gmail for google drive)

-communication: check email regularly, notify me of any limitations or problems asap.

-commit the best you can and have fun!

Projects in Brief (*ideally looking for just 3 Female VA, 2 Male VA to cover all roles):

1. Manaria Friends (5F/2M) :

Female: Grea, Anne, Lou, Hannah, Teacher

Male: Knight, Misc.

Synopsis: Slice of life story of a dragon/human halfbreed (Grea) and friends at a magical academy. Revolves around Grea's developing sexuality and her relationship with the MC Anne. All other characters function as supports for this main storyline.                                           

2. BoogiePop (1F/5M)

Female: Orihata

Male: Masaki, Imaginator, Red, Purple, Blue

Synopsis: MC Orihata wants to pursue a sexual relationship with a boy, any boy. However, she finds she is deemed sexually unattractive and therefore shunned from doing so. To compensate she commits to blackmailing her gayfriend, Masaki, into inviting her to an orgy with his other gay friends friday night...outside Revy's.

3. Asobi Asobase (4F, 2M)

Female: A (glasses), B (blonde), C (pigtaildark), Sis

Male: Teacher, boy

Synopsis: 3 girls make a club and play sexually explicit games in school. Focuses on the premise of friendship, adolescence, and development within a school environment.

If interested in VAing please post one or more auditions below. If you want to you may post everything in a singular recording, on any character, to save time.  Note I am mainly interested in the following:

a) The range of your voice (high/mid/low)

b) The quality of your recordings

c) The ability to believably voice multiple differing characters in a scene

d) Ability to sound natural and within the req'd age/personality (avoid sounding forced/synthetic, play to comfort zones if necessary)

I will use the information you leave in your recording(s), and whatever I find on your existing profile page, in other to judge these criteria and if you would be a good fit for the roles and character voices as desired. So please focus on showing parts of your voice you haven't showcased in past auditions, so long as they believably suit the age-groups and personality (highschool / young adult / adult; shy/calm/assertive etc). We'll finalize the voicetype for each character once you've been assigned and accepted the roles, rather than before.

I appreciate and review every audition given, but only those chosen will be contacted (likely not until the end of the audition deadline). Thank you!

Emphasis the nervous/shyness of the character as well as you can. Displays of emotion are key for Grea. Pronounced: "Grey-a"

Your go-lucky, smart/capable yet somewhat clueless, MC. Top of the class, mvp, a born leader. However she is ignorant on certain things, and can come across as sounding stupid.

18 years old (he acts older than everyone else, so he can afford to sound older as well)

Suggested: standard deep male voice.

Serves as the bodyguard for Princess Anna. As such, he spends all day following her around. In terms of his backstory he looks and acts, in his mannerism, as your stereotypical loyal bodyguard. But many of his comments reek of sarcasm and basic pervy male desire. Doesn't show alot of his emotion outright due to his position, but when he's alone with the princess he's more open.

  • -Princess complains about doing all the fighting,  getting scratched and bruised, as knight follows walking behind her doing nothing but walking along-

    (Sarcastically; carefree) Only you know the way, princess, but rest assured my eyes and sword will guard your voluptuous curvy behind from the nonbelievers. (light-heartedly; jokingly) For blessed is the fruit of thy labours...and thy 'finer' infidelities...

  • -In response to an unreasonable request by the princess-

    I'm afraid this will take some time...we'll have to mail orde----  (<="order", but cutoff)

  • -Soliloquy; in his own mind; just finished watching a lesbian interaction-

    (Intrigued; contemplative) Is this a good job for an 18 year old? Am 'I' lucky? Should 'I' be celebrated as a martyr of man's Eggo-centric and ero-manical dreams? *2 second pause* I think so.

I almost want to say robotic, but her desired voice should be very soft and fluent/human. Note that there should be no emphasis on any single word more than the last. She feels/projects 0 emotion, everything is based on logic and calculation.

He's gay, but for the first 2 lines and when he's out in public he's a very generic sounding teenage boy. His gay talk takes on more of a loudmouthed/dumb sarcasm if anything else (third line).

    WEll okay 'that' part.... 'kind of' is an issue.

Stereotypical aggressive guy of the group. Happens to be gay, but he acts like any other generic tough-guy, deep emotional problems underlying the act.

Going for a dominant/dominatrix international exchange student vibe. Accents welcome, particularly european. More or less the bully of the group. Always tries to mess-with those around her in some way for the sake of amusement.
That said she often plays the fool of her own jokes just to pick fun at others. She'll act childish and vulnerable, while laying some kid of bait and trap.

She is regularly taken advantage of by B. And generally takes the brunt of all the jokes and abuse dished out. She is a practical joker, and is often the one trying to make fun of a situation and trying to standup for herself. I'm Looking for a more mid-tier voice (probably).

Accents welcome. Mid tier voice (probably), want to avoid super deep lowtype, but want to convey terror at times as well. Generic academically serious teacher, but seemingly nice/thoughtful/cheerful and meek. Happens to eat some of the students as his pastime as a cannibal, but all in all a very pleasant and peaceful middle-aged man.
