ANATHEMA | Indie Game Casting Call (Non-Union)
Project Overview
Update: 5/3/2025 - Auditions are now closed. Many thanks to all that auditioned!
We're humbled by the overwhelming interest (1,312 auditions received from all channels of the casting call) in our little game. We've reviewed auditions as received and are reviewing our final list of candidates today. We'll be in touch soon for selected talent directly!
OVERVIEWThank you to all voice talent taking the time to read this. We are in the final stretch of our development cycle and are initiating this casting call for one (1) male boss enemy character and eight (8) separate NPC characters (2 female, 6 male) which will appear in cutscenes only. Following are details including the timeline for auditions and production, technical details necessary for recordings, character details, etc.
NOTE: We will never use AI in any way with your audio files or voice. We strongly believe the human element of storytelling remains essential.
TIMELINE5/2/2025 – Audition submission deadline.
5/3/2025 – Casting selections will be made by casting director and development team.
5/4/2025 – Offers will be distributed to selected voice talent.
5/7/2025 – Please confirm by this date if you accept the offer or if you must decline. This will be helpful for planning in the event an auditionee is unable to proceed as planned so that we may fill the role in accordance with our production schedule.
5/16/2025 – Deadline for initial submission of all production quality recordings for selected character(s). We will review for any line(s) or effort sound(s) that may need performant revision and confirm they adhere to the guidelines of the “Requirement for Final Production Files” section.
5/23/2025 – Deadline for round #1 of performant revision requests. (If applicable.)
5/30/2025 – Deadline for round #2 of performant revision requests. (If applicable.)
Payment amounts are noted for each character below their name and are factored at $1 per spoken word/effort sound. The compensation is inclusive of dialog, and in the case of Vos Imilio, also the in-game effort sounds.
Payment will be distributed via PayPal after final production recordings, including up to two rounds of revisions (if necessary) have been received and approved by casting director.
Revision requests pertain to performant revisions only if necessary. Audio files submitted using technical specifications outside the noted “Requirement for Final Production Files” section will require revision and do not count towards the two-round limit of revision requests for performant reasons.
This is a work-for-hire basis and upon payment, you are agreeing that copyright of the provided audio files is transferred to Esperware Interactive.
All characters should have a generalized American accent. Please audition using 1-2 lines from your selected character(s).
Please feel free to audition for as many characters as you like. Unique characterizations are desired for multiple auditions.
If you have already auditioned via email, please do not send double auditions here as well.
