Project Information
Amnesia: Memories is a Japanese visual novel series by Idea Factory. It’s available on many different platforms such as Steam, Nintendo Switch, Vita, Microsoft Windows, Android, IOS, and Playstation. As the game’s voice acting is only available in Japanese, this mod will bring English voices into the mix! The mod series will be separated into parts (or episodes) and uploaded onto YouTube. The modded game will also be released traditionally for others to enjoy playing with English voices. The game is rated PG-13 as it has some suggestive themes and mild language, so please be aware of that when auditioning! This is UNPAID work as I am a broke college student as of right now! We are hoping to have more projects in the future that will be paid though!
About Amnesia: MemoriesAmnesia: Memories is an otome game where you take the role of a female character, more commonly known as “The Heroine” and you can choose from a variety of male characters for her love interest.
The male characters that you, as the heroine, can interact with are based on the symbolic suit symbols from a card deck with the following storylines, commonly known as routes: Heart, Spade, Clover, Diamond and Joker. The player's relationship with each character differs depending on which route is chosen. Each route is a parallel world where the heroine seeks to understand more about her selected male character.
The premise of the game is that a spirit called Orion accidentally attaches himself to the Heroine, causing her to lose all her memories. In order for Orion to free himself and return to his own world, the Heroine must regain these memories through interactions with important people and places in her life. Orion acts as her guide, giving her advice and perspective, and providing her with an "inner voice." Orion also serves as the main narrator to the story especially in the later story sequels.
Like many otome games, the events take place over a fixed time frame and different decision-trees result in accumulation of artwork, stories, and endings with the various characters in the game. However, unlike many games, each route is a parallel world: events that take place in one route may not have happened in another route; the pre-existing relationships the heroine had before amnesia are different in each route; and the relationship-tracking meters may be different from one world to the next.

Please have a good mic with little-to-no background noise! (XLR mics preferred!)
Please record at least 3 takes of each line in ABC format (Ex: ABC ABC ABC).
MP3 or WAV format with all audition lines in one file (per character); If casted, all lines will be recorded in WAV.
DO NOT do any editing with your audition. Noise reduction is fine though!
Please DO NOT slate at the beginning of your audition!

Deadline is July 10th at 11:59 PM! Any auditions after that will not be accepted!
After the deadline closes, casting will take place 1-3 days after! 4 days at the latest!
If casted, emails will be sent out to those who got cast and we will talk through discord, so you need to have a discord (it is the easiest way for us to communicate)!
We will unfortunately not be sending out any emails to those who don’t get cast.

Blunt and Earnest Heart - Shin (Main Character)
The heroine's childhood friend. Having been ostracized by others due to his father's crimes, his demeanor has chilled considerably over many years. Rarely showing his emotions, he only exposes his vulnerable side to those closest to him. Shin is a reserved and mysterious person. Sometimes he affectionately calls the Heroine "idiot", but he deeply cares and loves her in his route, the Heart World, and he has been good friends with Toma since childhood. He carries a heavy emotional burden of his father having killed someone by accident. Due to social stigma that resulted from that accident, he wasn't able to make friends, which made him a social outcast.

Alluring and Captivating Spade - Ikki (Main Character)
A young college student who holds the peculiar power of causing any woman who looks into his eyes to fall in love with him. He has discarded the idea of a committed relationship and now lives the life of a playboy, but...? At first, Ikki appears to be a playboy, who likes to flirt with girls. However, he is actually a kind and attentive person. After making a wish upon a shooting star to be popular with girls when he was a child, he felt a bit depressed. Ikki wasn't able to grow close to anyone and became distant with his friends because his popularity increased as he got older. Later on, he thought it was his punishment for making such a wish. The only times Ikki lost his temper was when he yelled at Heroine, since he was concerned about her safety.

Cool and Logical Clover - Kent (Main Character)
A mathematics graduate student who always tries to look at things from a birds-eye view. He has the tendency to be interested in things that can't be explained logically, and he uses those around him and their emotions as targets of observation. He has a very intelligent mindset, which is also reflected in his friendships and relationships with others. He is very kind and interesting. He does not know much about dating and goes about dating her in a very analytical manner, but his feelings for her are very sincere. In the visual novel, he was given a more awkward and insensitive personality. He expresses his affection in a very awkward way. He also has a habit of launching into lectures that seem to go on forever. He has a very conservative and traditional set of moral values. Over the course of the game, he learns to express affection better and to be a little more sensitive to the heroine's emotions.

Affectionate and Intense Diamond - Toma (Main Character)
When the heroine wakes, she finds herself collapsed on an unfamiliar road. She sees Toma beside her as he whispers,"I will protect you." Toma has been steadily watching the heroine from a close distance in an older brother-like fashion. His desire to protect and love the heroine is overwhelming, sometimes to the point where it affects his mental state… Toma is a very laid-back and relaxed person, he treats both Heroine and Shin like they are younger siblings, and has many traits of an older brother. He, like all the others, cares deeply for Heroine. In his route, Toma has a dark personality that results in him lying to Heroine. In Shin's route, he was jealous of him because he dated Heroine. However, Toma is also wracked with self-guilt over his wrongdoings due to his own fear of losing Heroine and allowing her to get hurt, convincing himself of his actions by saying it is for her protection. After he realizes Heroine's true feelings, he is also seen to show utter remorse.

Shrouded in Mystery Joker - Ukyo (Main Character)
A strange young man who unexpectedly appears everywhere.He gives the heroine mysterious warnings, then vanishes.Whether he wants to protect the heroine or harm her is unclear. He has a dissociative disorder that causes rifts in his identity. One portion of his personality is kind and gentle, while the other is menacing, bitter, and aggressive.They differ quite greatly in terms of hobbies, likes and dislikes, and especially in the way they think. Kind Ukyo's personality is based more on emotion or the heart, while Bitter Ukyo's personality is based on logic or the mind. While both are separate, they represent original aspects of Ukyo, and it is suggested that over time, the two personalities might fuse.

Heroine’s Spirit Friend - Orion (Main Character)
A spirit who has become trapped within the heroine's mind due to an accident. In order to return to his world, he ends up supporting the heroine as she tries to regain her memories. Orion has a very caring and eccentric personality, and can be very emotional at times. He is an all around nice and innocent spirit who tries to be helpful. Orion also seems very clumsy, due to the fact that he bumped into the Heroine and caused the whole mess.
Voice Description:
Female Young Adult (Male but voiced by female); Semi-high range; Soft; Eccentric; Caring; Gentle.

Heroine’s Friend/Co-worker - Sawa (Supporting Character)
A college student with a bright and refreshing personality. By the friendly way she speaks to the heroine, she seems to have been good friends with her. She's lively and talkative, but still someone who can be relied on. Sawa has a very calm demeanor. She seems to be a very kind person, with an extravagant personality. However, Sawa is very clumsy when it comes to her work as a maid.

Some find it refreshingly honest that she makes no attempts to hide this, making it difficult to dislike her. Mine is a friendly person and is good friends with the Heroine in two routes. She appears to have a different personality in every route.

The manager of Meido no Hitsuji, where the heroine works part-time. Although he's a reliable manager with firm policies, he occasionally acts over the top, as he believes a little too fervently in his own ideals. He is the only person within the cast whose personality always changes depending on your route.

Ikki’s Fan Club Organizer - Rika (Supporting Cast)
A mysterious woman who dresses like an aristocrat. She is devoted to Ikki, and acts as the organizer of his fan club. She sometimes sees the heroine as a rival. Rika is a devilish, sarcastic, and aristocratic-like young woman. She obsesses over Ikki and she loves him very much even though he never dates her. Despite being obsessive over Ikki in the beginning, she turns around and is apologetic for her actions in the fandisks. In routes other than Ikki and Toma’s, she acts as an older sister figure and is more down to earth than her appearance lets on.
